SpringHill Suites by Marriott Huntington Beach Orange County

This hotel had a lot of things other hotels don’t. It was very convenient. It had laundry, games, a terrace on the second floor, a lounge area with couches, a nice gym, a business center with a nice computer and printer, a good complementary breakfast, a convenience store in the lobby, Netflix on the TV’s, little bar nook areas with big screens… and I’m sure there’s other stuff I can’t remember. There was an In & Out right next door, and it was minutes from Main Street and the beach. The staff was super friendly and check in/out was easy. Awesome hotel.

The hotel and room were comfortable, clean and modern. The front desk staff outgoing and courteous. The food staff could use some coaching in friendliness. They were really quite dreadful as was the breakfast. You have non-working waffle makers and what they served tasted like cardboard. The in-room coffee consisted of a 1 cup coffee maker that filled the cups provided 1/2 way. It's not often you come across a hotel that doesn't have 24 hour coffee of make it available at 5am. They charge $12 a nite for parking which is not disclosed in the online rates. They provide a parking pass that they slip into your paperwork and never tell you to use it. Why have it? It's not a guarded or gated lot so why charge your guests. Street parking is also available. While this hotel was clean and modern, it's not likely a return stay for us.

Part of the reason I chose the hotel was to charge my Tesla. Of the four charging spots 3 were taken by non electric vehicles and were not charging. Even though there were parking passes on the dashboards of these cars indicating they were hotel patrons nothing was done to get the cars to be moved after I reported the issue to the front desk. Better signage, more action and follow through are appropriate.

Location is perfect, customer service was excellent, breakfast and the room were great, only downside no pool but the beach is close.

There's a lot to recommend this property and a few red flags. First, the check-in: Nicholas, the guy behind the desk at check-in, was AMAZING! We booked this hotel because it has free on-site EV Chargers. We didn't have the ChargeAmerica app on our phone) and had no interest in adding it( (since we have no ChargeAmerica Stations near us). Nicholas walked us out, and did the set up for us on his phone--and plugged in the car! This is service that is definitely above and beyond! We requested an "Accessible" Suite and it was (almost) everything one could wish for--big room, plenty of room to move around and a GIGANTIC Bathroom and super-comfy bed! Now for the "down" side. Upon checking in we were informed there would be an "extra fee" for on-site parking (although the amount wasn't mentioned) and I didn't find any mention of it on the Hotels.com web sit or the Htotel''s web site. (Not saying it's not there, but I didn't see it.) The Hotel has an "Edinger" address but the only access is from Parkside Lane--which made our arrival "awkward" to say the least. Breakfast was--adequate (low average). Selections were VERY limited and I could have done without the "oatmeal soup" (more liquid than oatmeal) and both days had items with jalepenos (a big NO for those of us who don't like peppers.) I could have done with unbruised bananas, but that's just a quibble. The coffee here is strong enough to put hair on your chest (so ladies, you've been warned).

Free charging for EV, staff is friendly and competent, and I’ve stayed here 3 times already! Definitely recommend.

We stayed here for a baseball tournament for our son. The rooms were great, and clean. Very blackout window shades allowed to sleep longer when we needed to. The breakfast was great, wide variety of breakfast food for everyone. Each room had a large sofa that one person could sleep on and then a trundle bed that pulled out for another person, so you can technically sleep 4 people in the room. We rented two rooms because we weren’t aware of the sleeping arrangements, but could have easily slept our family of 4 in one room. No bathtubs, and no pool or spa, but a patio with foosball and corn hole helped fill some free time. Good place to stay overall! Recommended!

Room had bare bones amenities. Not even lotion. Breafas serving are was very claustrophobic. Food options were average at best. Upstairs terrace was run down and outdoor games were actually broken or dysfunctional but left for esthetics. Nice hotel but overpriced for what was delivered

I don't know how this property is rated as 3-star because in reality it is 5. We had a large room with 2 beds, work desk, large TV, small fridge and microwave and good sized bathroom with plenty of counter space and a nice shower. Everything is like brand new. Plus they have a nice gym, lobby, bar and breakfast area, an outdoor lounge and parking. There was nothing to complain about. Everything was great from the physical property to the staff. Similar in quality to other 5-star resorts I often stay at on vacation. Great stay.

We had an amazing stay. The staff was very friendly and accommodating . The room was spacious and very clean. I cannot say enough about the whole experience.

Great outdoor area on the second floor. Beds were comfortable room was extremely good quality black out curtains, which I loved. Only complaint is that there were quite a bit of random hairs in the bathroom, other than that I had a great stay!

Very clean

The room spaces are very great for families. However the carpets in the room could have been cleaned better. Found a big cut toe nail on the floor and it just made the room feel dirty and gross although everything else seemed clean. I would say they shouldn’t skip on vacuuming the rooms. Because of that I give it 4 stars.

Very nice staff. Appreciate the eco friendly focus. Only opportunity was that there were hairs in our shower at check in.

This hotel is nothing short of underwhelming. I will definitely state it is in a good location, within walkable distance to many shops and restaurants across the street, and an in n out right next door. The hotel grounds are modern and clean. However, the service is what differentiates this hotel from a higher class property. We had booked a room with two queen beds and received one with one queen bed and a pull out sofa. The reception hosts simply stated they had “overbooked” and had run out of queen bed rooms. They were unapologetic about it and even sounded annoyed at the fact I brought up the issue. I was traveling with my dad and brother and my brother had to take the pull out sofa which he said was a spring mattress, he was extremely uncomfortable. The room layout is also odd. The tv is in the middle of the room instead of In front of the bed so you’d have to turn your head in order to watch. And the bathroom is right in front of the bed. I was also cold on the first night and asked for extra pillows and blankets. The same reception host informed me that they had run out of pillows and would check if she even had extra blankets to give. I’m aware this isn’t a 5 star hotel, but at almost $200 a night it isn’t a motel 6 either for this type of treatment from the staff, mainly the overnight ones. Very nice property and rooms are big and spacious and walking distance to a shopping center. Only thing is my room said it had a queen size pull out bed but it’s not a pull out. The bottom of the couch pulls out a twin mattress that was very uncomfortable and you felt all the wires so we didn’t end up using it but the good thing is the couch itself was wide. I also wished there was better lighting in the room since it’s high ceilings but the lighting isn’t good. I will say all the staff was super nice and friendly!

We had a great 3 night stay here. The room was really spacious and clean, complimentary breakfast was good and the location was convenient for our day trips to the beaches. We stayed here at the start of a two week road trip and found the laundry facilities handy for the clothes we’d worn on our long flight. Only slight complaint would be the parking fee.

Room is nice enough. “Sofa bed” is a trundle bed which makes one kid sleep on the nasty couch cushions and it is squeaky and loud. Trundle bed mattress was springs covered in cloth and totally uncomfortable. Air conditioner never got the room cool. Lack of drawers to unpack. Bench over a/c is great for unpacking clothes if you don’t mind them being wet in the morning due to the A/C unit. Breakout is what you’d expect for free hotel breakfast. No pool or hot tub. Overall meh.

The hotel was very clean and the bed was really comfortable with good quality pillows.

The hotel itself felt brand new, as if it'd just been built. Will definitely be staying here again, next time I'm in the area.

While there is PLENTY of sitting space, only ONE CHAIR is comfortable to sit in: the sofa is a back-killing nightmare and the TV can on be viewed from an oblique angle ANYWHERE in the room. They need to re-think their space planning.

Our room was huge! The staff was amazing!

This is a nice hotel, but the constant pot spoke in the stairway was annoying. Also, the "glass barn doors" for the bathrooms--right where the beds are, what is that? A middle of the nigh trip wakes everyone up.

Okay rooms! Decent location. Front desk was unattended at 2:00 am when we returned. Gave us an unsafe feeling. Upon checkout we had to wait for staff to return to front desk.

Nicholas and Richard are awesome. Thanks for making us feel absolutely safe and enjoying our trip. All the staff members were very nice and helpful. Everyone made sure my husband and I had good service. The breakfast was good and the area was clean. PS: My son and his wife finally had their baby boy.👏👏

Two rooms confirmed for 4 adults. 10 min before check in notified that they over booked and one room was cancelled! Memorial Day weekend in California left the other couple scrambling to find another place and in the end drove home. Ruined our weekend plans

Afyer a dramatic stay at another hotel, this one gave us 1000% peace of mind and comfort. The front desk personnel was the best ever

We were supposed to have 2 beds and a pull out couch - 3 adults 2 children. When we checked in, we were told by staff ‘sorry we gave your room away, we have a room with 1 king and a trundle’ - Our room was prepaid for almost a year ago! We were told they would ‘comp’ our parking, which was noted in our email was complimentary. And the trundle was extremely uncomfortable and springy, the couch was hard and stiff and the bed was crowded with 1 adult and 2 children. We were very disappointed and will not be back!

Great staff and super kid friendly. Parking is easy. There's a Whole Foods and a mall literally across the street so you have many dining and shopping options.

Nice hotel, great location 15 minutes from HB PIER, mall across the street with excellent dining options. Nice amenities including fitness center and outdoor game area. Great breakfast options.

If you need to go to HB, this is your best affordable hotel option. It is a wonderful hotel, and convenient to the freeway and general shopping, but the area is very congested and not at all appealing. Not the fault of the hotel.

The proximity to restaurants was nice. I didn't like the traffic to cross the street to shopping/eating.

Housekeeping service was nonexistent. There was nowhere in the room where you could sit and have enough light to read by. Their free breakfast was mediocre at best.

Tge good The satff were awesome, the room was spacious and as described, close to many shops, great location, free wifi, and free parking (but you have to get the package at reservation) The not so good The offered free breakfast was bad!

Staff were a pleasure to work with. The room was clean and stocked. The location was perfect for walking to Bella Terra for movies and shopping plus there's were an abundance of eating out options. The bed in the room sagged on one side making it feel like you were going to fall off. The TV and remote were slow to respond, didn't allow for any kind of brightness adjustment and volume had to be turned up to 40 to be heard clearly. HDMI output did not work. Could not connect a media device to stream. Breakfast had great potential but not kept fully stocked throughout service time and we had very limited choices after 8am on a Saturday.

Clean and comfortable with a great breakfast

This waa a great stay. Great location. Free parking. Free wi-fi. Excellent free breakfast. The room was midern, clean, and spacious. This was definitely one of the best hotels we have stayed at.

Aside from minimum amount of drawer space, we fond the room to be clean and comfortable. The morning complementary breakfast, however, lacked sufficient amount of certain items. Things seemed to run-out (for example waffles and bacon) with still two hours left before breakfast was over.
