Great hotel, parking sucks there is no free parking or self service or anything. The cheapest is $35 a night and that’s from the city. Kimpton should cover the charge of parking.

Everything was fine, but it all could have been a little better for that price. Parking was confusing; we prepaid but there were no instructions, ended up paying to exit the wrong lot, and had to circle back to use valet, which wasn’t explained. At check-in they didn’t apply our $25 voucher until we asked and repeatedly showed proof even at checkout. Staff weren’t rude but didn’t guide us about the property at all or even explain how to get to our room, instead we had to rely on random QR codes we found. Also, calling it a “resort” and charging an extra $30 feels like a stretch since the pool closes at 7 and there’s no hot tub. And even though we thought we booked a king, we ended up with two queens due to the room-type-flex package, maybe my mistake, but IDK. Also, balcony door didn’t lock, door on bathroom is weird and there’s no privacy, and the shower has no door or cover. We were planning to recommend this place for our upcoming wedding, but we will probably pass.

Heart of the city action, easy walk to Old Sacramento. Very well maintained and security seemed in-place to quickly assist. Parking was a nightmare during events - $28/day city parking in the garage underneath (no validation) or $40/day valet.

Alex, the live entertainment on Friday was great. Pool was amazing and service was great. Love the casual nightlife at the pool bar on Saturday. Again great friendly service.

Great stay. My only comment would be only 2 of 3 elevators were working. After a concert at Golden 1 we waited in excess of 30 min to catch an elevator back to our room.

Good service. However, the carpet in our room needed shampooing. There were stains in the carpet. The soaking tub was very nice the bed was very comfortable. The staff was professional.

there was an open bar of soap in the shower with hair on it...not either of ours. the hall way was extremely loud as were the closing of the doors near to us. valet parking was excellent as was the location. other than that, would not recommend nor return.

Hi - Stayed at the Kimpton Sawyer for business. Unfortunately, my room had some old / used tissues on the floor by the headboard, and was missing hand soap in the bathroom. Also, the light on the headboard would not turn off when using the button, so we had to put a towel over the light to be able to sleep. Also, the shower head would not turn on (overhead), so had to use the handheld.

The room was incredible dusty all over. Check in took over 20 minutes from the time we got in line and there was only 1 person waiting to check in before me. Doesn't seem to be worth the premium price they are charging for the service you get in return.

Truly, Kimpton was a big disappointment. The hotel itself is beautiful and modern, the rooms looked comfy, but it was smelly, to the point that it made both me and my daughter gag. No idea why, but it smelled like old wet feathers and like some small animal died in there. All the pillows were lumpy, to the point that we had to ask the reception the second day to give us some lump-free pillows. The bedding SMELS, like it's a cheep hotel. There is no crispy-clean-beatuiful linen smell, quite the opposite. The shower area was probably never cleaned, as soon as the tiles got wet it was all slippery and slimy. I had to shower with my flip-flops on and now I am stressed that I got God-knows what bacteria. All in all, we were more than dissatisfied.

It’s a very convenient location being right in the heart of downtown sac. But I feel like the price is a little high and it’s not anything extravagant. It’s very clean and staff was very attentive. But the room was like many other hotel rooms. I don’t really like their bathroom setup. The door is a big mirror and it doesn’t shut properly so whoever you are staying with can hear you using the restroom. Overall nice, but a little pricy for what seemed like a basic hotel room.

Hmm well the view in our room was right across the street from Kaiser so it felt like we were starting into the patients hospital room at night, also there's no shower door as a design feature which is odd and makes for a chilly shower experience. The rooms were spacious and the bed was comfortable, and it's right on the middle of everything in downtown, so that's nice. All the staff we interacted with were very kind and helpful. I'm on the fence about it being worth the price point....

I have stayed at a dozen Kimpton hotels in the US and I have to say after they became part of IHG the service and quality has gone down. LOCATION - Great, across from Golden 1 Dome, next to shops and restaurants. ROOM - OK, nothing special. The bathroom doesn't have a door, only a sliding barn type door that never closed fully. The light in the bathroom was strange and kept turning off while you were in the middle of showering. CHECK IN - Very slow, and also why is it at 4pm? Most hotels have 3pm check in. We got there just before 4pm and they were overwhelmed because the Kings were playing and there were a lot of people in the lobby. The reception person wanted to give us another room with worse view, that was different than what I had booked and prepaid. CLEANLINESS - Not so much, the hotel felt already a bit worn. POOL - We sat by the pool for an hour; the area was dirty and there were random items around while only a few people were enjoying the area. We had to go an a hunt for towels; nobody was there to help. PARKING - 1 star. The website said Self-Park was available for $25, however, when we got to the hotel, we were told that the only option was Valet for $40. It was annoying to be given different info especially because I don't like to have young guys park my new car; there is the tip on top of that. The hotel tried to blame the city saying that 'When the Kings play, the city uses the parking under Kimpton hotel so there are no spaces".

Everything was good until we couldn’t get our AC to work. It was super hot and stuffy in the room. We asked for someone to come up and fix it and they couldn’t so they brought us a little fan lol. That was not going to help. So WE had ask to be moved to another room that had a working AC unit

The staff are great and really go above and beyond. We arrived early from a few hours drive away not expecting our room to be ready but to our surprise it was. Valet was also very quick with no issues. Something pretty unique about this property is they have a social hour including complimentary wine and in the mornings they have complimentary hot and iced coffee that is actually does not taste bad. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would go back just to spend a week or two getaway at the hotel itself!

Check in was at 4pm and they did not have a room ready until 5:20pm. Multiple people were staying there for a concert and there were no rooms to get ready in. The staff also said no rooms were available for us and then a lady yelled at her because of the inconvenience this has caused. She was able to get a room before all of the other people waiting. So we get punished and moved to the side for being polite and understandable.

We had a very disappointing experience during our stay. When we arrived at our room, there were no towels in the bathroom. We called the front desk several times throughout the night asking for towels, especially because we had already started to shower. Each time, they said the towels were on the way, but they never arrived. Eventually, they stopped answering the phone completely. Out of frustration, we had to call again and pretend we were making a new reservation just to get someone to answer. Only then did they finally send towels — at 3:00 a.m.! Because of this delay, we had to using only the robes after showering, which was very uncomfortable. On top of that, the room didn’t have basic amenities like a shower cap or toothpaste. This lack of attention to guest needs and poor communication really affected our experience.

Jacob at the front desk exemplifies 5 star service. He is professional, friendly and extremely helpful. He went out of his way to ensure my family was well taken care of during our entire stay. Very accommodating to any request. The in room dining staff were amazing and gave helpful recommendations. The food was excellent and matched the dining experience at the restaurant.

Overall the hotel comfort, cleanliness and location were super. We also were very happy with Precious who prepped our room at check-in. The reason we are giving 2 service stars is because there were three women heckling guests at the check-in desk. They were gathered around the champagne bottle and seemed to be idling and whispering and laughing loudly. At one point they were loud enough that I knew what was said and it was about a guest. I was shocked by this high school mean girl behaviour at a place of business. The fact that it happened at the front desk and that there were 3 women engaged in the activity together was appalling. This is supposed to be a place of hospitality - immature humour and heckling guests is far outside of professional behaviour. Also the bell staff and Valets wore very professional hotel uniforms. The hecklers were dressed unprofessionally, no uniforms, yoga pants, one wore a short yellow dress that was very short, so short that too much was showing. There was a fourth person at the desk who behaved maturely and professionally - she was kind (short blonde hair) but she said nothing to the hecklers. Bizarre Front Desk Staff - 2 stars for service 5 stars for everything else.

It’s also close to several shopping malls and offers easy access to the vibrant city center. Valet parking is available, or you can park in the public lot for $28. It was great! I stayed at the Kimpton Sawyer during a 2-day flight delay/cancellation and it was the perfect hotel for hanging out at during my time in Sacramento. Room was spacious and comfortable, the pool was very nice and the staff was very friendly. Great location too close to the DoCo shops and Old Sacramento. Highly recommend!

I stayed at the Kimpton because I went to a concert at the Golden 1 Center and it was amazing. So many great places to eat after and and we did not have to wait in traffic. It had great amenities in the suite. 10/10 will be back again!

We stayed at The Sawyer over a long weekend with the family. Close to downtown, shopping, resultants and the railroad museum. Love the pool and the steak house on site.

Overall very comfortable stay. Experience in the bar at 3rd floor could have been better. There weee many guests in the bar but only one server which leads to delay in orders. However the only server a lady, she was doing great job single-handily.

So many bad things happened on this little trip. The hotel tried to make up for it monetarily but then “forgot”. I was very upset in the end. HOWEVER it is a nice hotel in a great location. I have stayed in the past and had a 5 star experience. This particular trip they missed the mark big time. I was also shocked that on Mothers Day Sunday the pool bar wasn’t open for Mimosas and brunch. There were so many families there sneaking in drinks and snacks because they were closed. Eventually a pool server came in but they were hours short of all these Mamas wanting to enjoy their morning poolside.

The only weakness is the lack of a full breakfast facility on site. We walked to nearby Hyatt and it was excellent. A third party runs the adjacent Echo and Rig, which is a very good restaurant.
