Good location. Nice indoor pool (but we didn’t bring suits :/). Walking distance to local breakfast & pizza options. Dealt with a little early-morning noise coming from the food prep area, but what can you do? Everyone wants breakfast!!

Room wasn't ready until almost 4. Everyone is really nice. We had a family with a dog staying next door and could hear absolutely everything. The dog barked a lot. Families make noise so that is understandable but it was late and their dog was annoying. The elevator went down and my mom who needed an accessible room was forced to tape stairs. Not the best

The most annoying inconvenience was the keycard for the room kept deactivating and I had to have the front desk reset it 6 times during my stay. I only stood two nights and it was extremely inconvenient to have to keep interrupting my vacation to have my room keys reactivated. Pool was also closed for a portion of time and had too much chlorine when reopened. Staff was nice and hotel itself is clean.

Stay was fine, bed was comfortable, breakfast was adequate. Warm fireplace in the lobby was very welcoming and there are several restaurants within walking distance. The only negative was that 4 out of 5 cardio machines were "Out of Service"... can't really call that a Fitness Center, can you?

We love this property for visits to URI. The staff is wonderful and the location is perfect. The bathrooms could use a little more attention/updates. Consistently, there is mold around the tubs and the water pressure is spotty. Also, this is our second visit where trash and paper wrappers were left from previous guests so we’re not sure if floors were cleaned/vacuumed. Overall, good experiences. We’ve had four visits to this property in the past 8 months.

We were not able to check in until 3 plus hours after check in time- the room wasn’t ready. When we checked in the room stunk horrifically of cigarette smoke- I spoke to the front desk and asked for air freshener and complained about the smoke smell in a non smoking room- no one did anything. The room was extremely stuffy and triggered my son to have an asthma attack basically ruining the trip. When I spoke to the front desk again about my concerns I was told that “ I didn’t book with the Hampton, I used a 3rd party so they could not offer any compensation”.

This is one of the most well kept and well managed that hotel I've ever stayed. I kept extending my stay because of the level of service and cleanliness of this hotel. The staff, Torrey, Brittany, Jane, ....ALL of them are outstanding. Breakfast was always wonderful, coffee delicious, Housekeeping second to none. They are QUIET, (you don't hear them even in the next room), friendly and happy to help. The property is so well maintained. It's beautiful with grass everywhere and the location at the Commons is perfect. What a great place to call home while visiting friends. I'll be back for sure! Thank you for everything!

My husband and I recently stayed at the Hampton Inn SK for 2 nights, and we’ll most likely stay elsewhere the next time we’re in RI. On the positive side, the location of the hotel is convenient to Narraganssett, Newport, and NK, and the staff are friendly and helpful. Additionally, the complimentary breakfast had some decent options (egg white frittatas and turkey sausage were a great surprise!), and complimentary hot beverages and water are always appreciated. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives stop. Our room was absolutely filthy upon arrival, with cobwebs by the AC/heating unit, hairs all over the bathroom, and a bed with stains all over it, that looked like someone had rolled around on it. While the room was very spacious, the bed was horribly uncomfortable, the walls were extremely thin, and the wind gusts caused our door to rattle loudly the entire night. Not the worst hotel we’ve stayed in, but not one I’d recommend either

Our room was comfortable and quiet. The fridge wasn’t too cold, but it didn’t affect our stay. We enjoyed the breakfast choices and friendly staff. Having the property inside a “shopping/eating/service” complex was a plus. Although a bit more $ than we expected to spend, the conveniences and proximity to our important points of interest made the decision to stay here a positive one.

I have stayed here many times before when visiting URI but will find another hotel from now on. The mattress was more of a cot, completely uncomfortable, sounded very old - if you moved it made a ton of noise, thin, creaky, had to sleep on pillows. I asked the front desk to move me or change the mattress and they said there was nothing they could do. The blackout shade would not open, so the uncomfortable room was in darkness. Again, called the front desk and they never sent the person they promised to fix it. Very disappointed.

We had to get our room changed, because the air conditioner in our initial room was not getting cold. Even then I feel like the air conditioners were not up to par. Even the hallways were warm. The first room we got was also not cleaned correctly. I saw stains on the bedskirt and overall the room just did not look that great. The second room, however, it looked much cleaner.

The area, hotel, and room were all very clean, spacious and seemed new. Great amenities and very comfortable beds. The hotel is in a very convenient location. While it was a little on the expensive side for a one night stay- it was on a holiday weekend. The stay was worth the price.

The hotel was clean and the breakfast was good. However, I was very disappointed that the room did not match my reservation. I had booked a room with two queen beds, but was given one with a king bed and a sofa bed instead. When I brought this up at check-in, the staff simply said no two-queen rooms were available—without any apology or effort to help. We chose the two-queen room for the comfort of real mattresses, not a sofa bed, so this was very frustrating. I expected better service and accountability.

My stay was all but typical until the morning of my checkout, when I was awoken to persistent knocking around 9:00am. When I looked to see that it was cleaning staff I ignored since I put the do not disturb sign on the door the previous night and checkout wasn’t until 11:00am. About 5 minutes later they forced their way into the room and I could see a hand trying to flip the latch open from the outside in. I opened the door at a loss of words, nothing of this nature has ever happened to me before so I was obviously in shock. They quickly shrugged it off as a confusion that I already checked out. This behavior is absolutely unacceptable and I am disgusted with the incompetence of this staff. As this area is a popular wedding destination I strongly encourage staying elsewhere.

I arrived for a wedding to which the shuttle left at 4:30pm and my room was not ready until about 5 minutes before. I had to do my hair and change in the public restroom of the lobby. When the maintenance manager on staff addressed the large group waiting for rooms, he was asked if he was aware there was a wedding. The maintenance manager, then proceeded to tell the group of about 20+ people that this was the first time he was hearing about a wedding. This is completely unacceptable and unprofessional. Considering I paid over $500 for an under mediocre. . This is completely unacceptable and unprofessional. Considering I paid over $500 for a below mediocre accommodation the least they could do was make sure the rooms were ready.

On Sunday, 8/31/25 I called to see if we could check in a little earlier than 3 pm on Monday, September 1. The woman I spoke w/was rude and said first come first serve basis. Unfortunately, I didn't catch her name. The reason I called was I figured people would be checking out on Labor Day Sept 1? Maybe our room could be cleaned a little earlier for an hour earlier check in. ??? Her customer service and response were unacceptable. I understand there may be a lack of help at this hotel; but I don't think corporate would appreciate her speaking that way. The rest of the representatives, upon check in, were excellent. Our stay was lovely, breakfast buffet delicious, and check out was easy. We just had to drop room key in the box. Best regards, Karen

The woman at the front desk was not welcoming at all. She seemed to be irritated that we arrived early and when we asked for early check-in, she flatly stated no rooms were ready yet. Fair enough. But we sat in the lobby and waited with two other groups, and she made a point of coming up to each of them and letting them know she was putting them on the list to get the first available rooms, while saying nothing to us. We did get in early, but only by being persistent. And the next morning at checkout she simply said goodbye and didn't ask anything about our stay. I'm used to way more cheerful and accommodating service at hotels.

Where do I begin. Check in was a horrible experience. I booked through Expedia, when I checked in this older woman could not seem to figure out how to do her job and check us in. My room was unavailable and had to settle for a room I did not book. She seemed to stall for about 30 minutes before finally checking us in. We go to the room she told us to and there was a do not disturb sign and someone already checked into that room. Then I go back down to the lobby where there is no one to be found. Finally someone comes out and they told us the person's name in the wrong room, I did not appreciate them giving out someone's information. That was alarming to me. Finally get into a room and the toilets not working. Other than this horrifying check in experience the area is a perfect getaway and close to the beaches. The beds were very uncomfortable. Will not be staying here again though just from this experience. Hopefully this was just a bad night for everyone.

Wonderful location, would definitely stay here again! Property is within 30mins or less of the Newport area and reasonably priced. Very clean outside annd overall of the room, lovely gas fire pit outside for end of night enjoyment. Front end staff were very welcoming, friendly, and helpful throughout our stay.
