Long Cove Resort and Marina

Good things first. The room was clean and spacious. I was alone, but a family would be comfortable there. The bed and pillows were comfortable. Water pressure in the shower was fantastic. I requested lake view and could technically see the lake from my door. Not so good things. The road down to the property is horrific. I have an SUV, and I was still worried about damage to my vehicle. The toilet didn't work in my unit. I had to plunge every time just to get it to flush. I wish the door to the unit would have had a screen. The pictures on the site are somewhat deceptive, because they don't give an accurate portrayal of the room you are booking. I chose my cabin because the pictures showed a bed, close to the glass door, with 2 chairs on a small deck, with the lake in front. Turns out they use this pic on all their cabin options, but it wasn't at all what I booked. The area around the resort is nice. Very close to restaurants and convenient stores. The people in the Carolinas are so friendly. I hope to visit again some day, but would not stay here. It was ok.

It was a clean cabin, lake front view, and the beach area was clean. I understand it is a work in progress, but the bed in the loft had not been changed from previous renter, the pool is out of commission, and you cannot fish from the dock.I had to leave early and with insurance they wouldn't redund my additional night. I would stay again, but the need a better checks and balance system for the rsort.

It was a very cozy nice getaway. Enjoyed my stay. It was very clean. The only issue I had was the bed and pillows wasn’t very comfortable but overall great getaway. I will definitely be returning in the future.

There were a lot of pros and cons about this property and my experience. The lake view was great and I booked a cabin with a private deck which was peaceful and calming. The suite had a nice setup and was better than a hotel but there were some items damaged upon my arrival. Cons include a dirty floor, dirty washcloth in the bathroom, broken railing in the deck and a hole in the screen door that would not close. Overall, I would give this resort a 2nd try just for the lake atmosphere.

Overall it was a good stay. The WiFi did not work so our tv in the room didn’t work and we had to use our cell service instead of WiFi on our devices. The couch was broke but they fixed it immediately which was amazing… The mattress up in the loft was an infant size mattress which was difficult for our 14 year old to sleep on. The mattresses in the bunk room are very very thin. The blankets on the bunk beds are also very thin. The drain in our bathroom sink was very very slow going down. Positive note: parking was great, ac worked great and it was decently clean, beautiful view. It’s good if you don’t plan to spend much time in the cabin.
