The Stuart Hotel, Derby City Centre, Sure Collection by Best Western

The hotel was clean, though the bathroom could do with refurbishment. Staff were friendly and helpful. Parking payable in the horel at a duscounted rate.

The property is conveniently located within walking distance of Derby city centre. NCP car park is located behind the hotel.

Arriving at the Stuart Hotel was easy and parking. Paid for parking in the NCP car park at reception. Confirmation of booking should of stated that the car park is a NCP which would of prevented any confusion. Room was very small and believe it was a single room so having two adults in the room was a bit of a squeeze and felt very claustrophobic and almost had a panic attack as windows were restricted with how far you could open them. Other small window was stuck I guess from when it was last painted as with the bathroom door which kept sticking and did not close properly unless you put pressure on the door. The toilet made a loud noise every time you flushed it and the shower was very small. Mattress was very soft and could feel the springs in the bed making it a very uncomfortable night. Breakfast was average and the dining room felt dirty with kids running around and food left on the side. Bar was closed before 11pm so could not use so was a little disappointed as the confirmation said the bar would be open until 11pm. Would not return to this hotel said that, the hotel staff was polite on arrival and check in was easy. Used this hotel as it was within walking distant to the pub and restaurant where we were meeting friends for drinks and food. Hotel has a lot of potential but requires a big refurbishment.

At about 7.45 for an hour building work on the new tesco shop within the hotel started. There was no reason this could not have started later. I complained to the girl on the desk (she was fine it was not her fault) and she said next month when you come ask for a room on the far side of the hotel.This should have been offered when we arrived. Maybe next month we will book into a hotel that puts its guests first

The staff at the hotel are excellent, really friendly and helpful. There is parking onsite which is reasonably priced at £4.95 for 24 hours. The hotel itself is ok however in need of some investing and a revamp. The rooms are basic with the furniture showing a lot of signs of age and general wear and tear.

We had an extremely comfortable stay with two single beds – they were amazing! Though it was just for one night, the location was great, close to town. The bedding was nice and clean. However, the bathroom was disappointingly dirty, with visible mold and limescale. A thorough cleaning, including the shower mat, is needed. Consider sharing this feedback for improved cleanliness standards. 🏨

firstly we had no toilet paper in the bathroom on arrival had to ask reception for some second the room had a strong alcohol smell like they had been a spillage on the carpet it was damp third the immensely filthy dusty boards and around windows that aggravated my wife's asthma through night I don't this is adequate for such a lovely hotel and lets it down just letting you know our concerns

I booked several rooms for work and all of the rooms were very similar. The bedroom we mainly ok, but the bathrooms were old, very tired, in desperate need of refurbishment. Parts of my bath had worn away, tiles were cracked, holes around the bathroom Suite fittings, and generally not very nice. A dirty towel from a previous guest was left hanging up behind the door. The walls are very thin, I could hear everything from the adjoining room. Another colleague had water pouring in by the closed window as it was raining all night. The beds were fairly comfy and breakfast was good.

Rooms need a proper dusting other than that no complaints.BREAKFAST was a fiasco. The hotel has sold most of it restaurant/breakfast room to tesco so they do not have adequate table/seating area available for amount of guests. We had to wait for a table on sunday over half an hour

Good location clean room! However the cupboard was half full of broken fans and spare lights. Telephone line was not working and bath broken on the side panels. Bath seal needs changing to combat mould. Apart from that the room was clean and presentable and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly.

A good stay for the price. The room was not fully dusted and the rooms were outdated but clean sheets and towels - comfy bed.

Reception staff were lovely but bar staff need much more training for waiting tables and general service. Had to ask for a drink with dinner, ask for cuttlery, ask for condiments and no clearing of dinner plates or dessert offered.

Hotel was clean and staff were friendly, only thing that let it down for us was, we had no hot water during our stay.and there was noise disruption from people in the rooms near by on our first night.

I was staying in a room on the 3rd floor which was not at all a problem to me although all the floor boards and stairs were very noisy when walked on, especially at the still of night. The carpet was so threadbare in the room you could see the flooring underneath. There was mould and dirt thou out the whole of the bathroom and shower and the room with contents was very dated apart from the up to date “smart” to. The water way hot enough to have a shower but no water pressure so it just trickled out. I ate at the hotel over my 3 night stay and the quality of food was very good and an enjoyable meal. All the staff I encountered were courteous, kind, polite and friendly being a credit to the hotel. I think the hotel needs tlc and decorating Paul

The mattress had no springs, complained, nobody cares. The bathroom was really basic with a trickle of a shower. Hotel needs seriously updating. Thin walls and windows so you can hear everything in the other rooms.

So I booked a executive room which was supposed to have a double bed instead I got 2 single beds pushed together with 2 sungle mattresses well im sorry thats not a double bed if I was to purchase a double bed from a shop I woudnt expect 2 single beds with 2 mattresses I would expect a double bed with a double mattress so I was very disappointed about that waking up in the middle of the night with a crack in the middle of the bed were the 2 mattresses have parted so not happy at all when I mentioned it to the reception the next she wasnt really bothered so I wont be staying there again!!! 😡😡😡😡

Staff were wonderful, but we had an executive room that was in a poor state of repair to the point that the fire safety information had to be reattached to the door. The list of defects were really high from holes in the carpet mismatched furniture door strip on the bathroom door coming off to name only a few. If this was an executive room the mind boggles what the standard room must be like.

The hotel itself is located near a busy road so expect traffic noise. The staff were great but let down by the state of the rooms. The shower did not work in my room and it was really hot in there. Breakfast had a very small selection avaiable. I will not be staying here again.

Room was small & very stuffy. Stains around room fixtures & damage to carpet. Cold bathroom. The bar was also the main reception desk. Staff were friendly though & not the worst place in Derby to get your head down for the evening.

Well located for city centre, football and train station. Very much a 3 star hotel so no frills. Room was OK but furniture very tired and probably should be renewed. Bathroom looked OK but the shower was never hot, even though the basin tap was scalding. This hotel is ok as a one nighter, but not sure I would want to stay longer.

Overall not bad at all and good value for money. However, the standard double room was very small as was the shower cubicle. Better suited to being a single toom.

I recently stayed at this hotel over the past weekend and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. Upon arrival on Friday evening, I was allocated a room which had not been cleaned from a previous stay.l. The real frustration came when I discovered a major room assignment mix-up. Despite being assigned room 246, the reception had no record of me in that room. It turned out they had given me the wrong room when I was moved, causing confusion for both myself and other guests. This led to a situation where guests who were supposed to be in my room were left waiting in the lobby, while my belongings were in their room. Additionally, despite paying for parking, finding a spot was a nightmare upon my return on Saturday evening and only one very tight space was available upon arrival. This level of disorganisation and lack of communication is unacceptable for any hotel, and it seriously impacted the overall quality of my stay.

Check-in wasn't a smooth process as the hotel did not have any record of my booking on their system since it had come from Expedia. Took a while to get resolved. Room was fine but I was given ground floor rather than first floor as I'd requested when asked. Made the best of it as it was just one night but would have preferred an easier check-in.

Allowed me to check in early. Very convenient for station and a short walk to Pride Park.

Room was very clean and tidy Breakfast had a vast selection of products and dairy free alternatives ( on demand ) Staff was super friendly and happy to help, keeping our luggages after check out
