Grand Hotel Palau

This was a disappointing stay. Reception staff were unfriendly, did not help with luggage. Worse still the main reception person was smoking a shisha pipe in the common areas and in another occasion was picking the skin off his feet in the customer area . Ash trays were left with cigarette butts. There is no lift and the stairs to the next floor are dangerous, there’s no hand rail except for the last few steps. The stair asr made of recycled timber and have a number of holes in them. The beds were hard and very uncomfortable. The hotel is up quite a steep hill and a distance from the main part of town it would be difficult without a car . I cannot understand how this is rated as 4 star I don’t know how hotels.com is aligned with this property

Bel établissement, offrant une vue magnifique pour les chambres avec balcon ou terrasse. Hôtel très bien situé non loin du port et endroit calme. Par contre il n'y a pas d'ascenseur.

The room we had was overlooking the port with a large balcony. It was uphill so we had a good passaggiata walking to town for dinner and back. There is no elevator so be prepared to carry luggage up a winding wooden staircase. There is an upper parking lot where you can put your luggage to avoid the staircase if the fire door is open.

The Grand Hotel had nice views from the front and was clean. The rooms were simple but had all the basics. The cheaper rooms at the back look right at an embankment. Breakfast was a standard european spread of cold cuts, toast, yogurt, etc. Street parking seemed limited although we had a couple options for spots.

Hotel bem conservado, limpo, silencioso, com estacionamento fácil na região gratuito e uma equipe muito atenciosa e simpática. Duas observações: 1) o banheiro tinha vidro liso na janela para a rua, que não dava privacidade, mas foi substituído no primeiro dia por texturizado que ficou perfeito, reestabelendo a privacidade.2) a informação do valor do café da manhã está desatualizada, são 15 euros por dia, por pessoa e não 5 euros como consta do site e descrição na plataforma Hotéis.

Not handicapped accessible. 12 steps up from road to reception. Had room on 2nd floor only accessible by 20 steps up spiral staircase.

The view of the La Maddelena islands was lovely. Definitely ask for a room with a view. The parking was in a dirt lot near one of the entrances. It cost extra and was worth it since I didn’t see any available parking on the narrow streets.

Cet hotel est plus un 2 étoiles. Ne ressemble en rien a un 4 etoiles. Pas de parking ,juste 5 places devant . Pas d ascenseur, pas de restaurant ni collation ni distributeur. Point positifs propre, jolie vue sur palau.

This property is not easily accessible for individuals with mobility issues - 12 steps up from street to lobby. Room was on 2nd floor with no elevator. Had to lug suitcase up 25 steps in spiral staircase -- with only handrail on half of that staircase.

Literie pas propre, chambre qui sent l’humidité, isolation phonique inexistante. Pas du tout le mérite d’un 4 étoiles.

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. A very clean environment and beautiful location and views.

This hotel had the worst lumpy pillows. Imagine sleeping on mushy baseballs. We asked for another pillow only to be told that they don’t have any extras. We also asked for an extra towel also to be told that there are no extras. Additionally, they light the outside of the hotel at night , so there’s a spotlight right into the window all night. The light blocking curtain doesn’t really help. The room also had ants.

Clean room and hotel, walkable to the marina

Frigidaire non fonctionnel et douche ayant besoin de nettoyage plus approfondi. Petit déjeuner basique (pas d’œuf après 45 minutes le 2e jour). Belle vue et tranquille.

Room was clean with a nice sized terrace (only 2 chairs despite it being a family room). The room lacked shutters/ black out curtains. Every morning we couldn't sleep past 6am because of the light and then had to wait until 8am for breakfast. Breakfast included was not good value for money 15€/ head to buy at the hotel. The juice was watery, croissants felt like they were ultra processed, two choices of cereal on the two ends of the spectrum special K v chocolate! The hotel is around 10-15 minute walk to the harbour/ boat tours. Free parking on the main street outside the hotel (but something tells me it will get busy in the summer). Felt a bit expensive for the room standard/quality and the time of year.

Hotelzimmer sind leider nicht mehr sehr zeitgemäß. Zimmertür ist etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig, das abschließen von außen erfordert schon etwas Kraft.

Zimmer sind einfach und schon ziemlich abgewohnt. Wir hatten auf unserer Sardinienreise schönere Unterkünfte die günstiger waren. Die Balkonstühle waren komplett defekt. Der Ausblick sehr schön.

Unterkunft oben auf einem steilen Hügel. Nicht einfach zu Fuß zu erreichen dafür Sonne Aussicht von den Zimmern auf den Hafen. Zimmer sind klein, kein Platz den Koffer aufzumachen, nur auf dem Bett möglich. Frühstück sehr einfach gehalten.

Walkable, great base, friendly staff!

We were there for 3 days and the bed and pillows were very uncomfortable . We asked for new pillows and they wanted to charge us . The staff were very unfriendly

Accueil désagréable et rude à la réception, tarif parking incorrect par rapport à celui annoncé par hôtel.com. L’hôtel est situé en haut d’une côte non éclairée la nuit, et chambre située dans le 2eme bâtiment encore plus haut. Il faut s’assurer de ne rien oublier dans sa chambre avant de partir car la montée est raide et il n’y a pas d’ascenseur dans les 2 bâtiments. L’hôtel envoie chaque jour à 5h du matin un mail : check-in de 15h à 22h, check-out à 10h précises sinon des frais sont appliqués, et un message pour réserver des excursions à la réception, bien qu’ils n’aient aucun plan de la ville à proposer. La taxe de séjour est la plus chère que j’ai payée en Sardaigne, 3,5€/jour ! Un hôtel 4* qui n’en mérite que 2, pas de cintre dans la chambre, réfrigérateur qui ne refroidit rien, climatisation trop bruyante, clé de chambre simple attention au doublette, et pas de coffre-fort dans la chambre. Pour moi ce n’est pas un 4 étoiles ! Très déçue, j’avais réservé 5 nuits, et annulé 2 😅 car je m’imaginais un super 4*. Bien que j’ai vu des commentaires mitigés, j’ai tenté l’expérience très décevante ! PS : vue mer partielle, c’est le 1er bâtiment qui cache la vue au 2ème. PDJ pas testé car si c’est pour être mal reçue autant s’en passer (super boulangerie/pâtisserie et personnel sympa à Palau), il demande votre carte de crédit car il affirme que APPLE PAY ne fonctionne pas, je l’ai utilise et ça fonctionne très bien 😁. Reçu encore un mail pour revenir dans l’hôtel, JAMAIS ! 👎

Quel bel accueil dans ce spendide grand hôtel ! Idéal pour un séjour à Palau où l'on souhaite profiter du cadre époustouflant, du confort de l'hébergement et de la proximité avec les plages, le centre-ville, le port et bien d'autres sites touristiques (à quelques minutes à pieds). Je recommande chaleureusement cet établissement et remercie Ronex pour son professionnalisme et sa gentillesse. Au plaisir et bonne continuation !

Our visit to Sardinia was very pleasant and the welcoming atmosphere of the hotel was nice Adeel was at the reception desk and the way he greeted us and shared the information was very pleasant and friendly After a long drive from Olbia airport to Palau our accommodation was quite lovely as we were able to check in fast and easy fashion The room was very clean and comfortable with amazing views overlooking the beach and the port of Palau The convenient location was a great spot for walking to the city center for shopping and dining. Also to enjoy the free beaches and to get to the ferry and enjoy the activities!!!!

This hotel is an absolute scam, and it nearly ruined our entire experience in Sardinia. From the very beginning, it was nothing but misrepresentation. We booked through Expedia, where the hotel falsely advertised its location as being on one of the main roads of Palau. In reality, it sits far up a steep hill, inconvenient and nearly impossible to reach on foot. We specifically chose this property because it claimed to be a 4-star hotel. Let me be clear: this place doesn’t even meet the standards of a basic bed and breakfast. From the moment we checked in, it was obvious the hotel was severely understaffed, neglected, and almost deserted. We paid for a room with an ocean view and were told we’d been “upgraded” to a newly renovated section. Any excitement was quickly crushed when we realized what that actually meant: dragging our suitcases up two uneven flights of stairs, going outside the main building, climbing more stairs, then hauling luggage over rocks before reaching a room that looked nothing like a 4-star accommodation. The room was bare, furnished with what looked like cheap IKEA furniture, unfinished bathrooms, patchy walls, and spider webs covering the ceiling. Unfortunately, things only got worse with breakfast. It was a complete joke. Service lasted only two hours in the morning because the same staff members responsible for cleaning rooms were also in charge of running breakfast. The food selection was extremely poor, with questionable quality.

We stayed 3 notes in Palau. It was an excellent location. We enjoyed a view of the Bay.

Dachten dat het aan het water lag. Hotel ligt op een helling en daarom voor minder mobiele mensen zoals ik niet aan te raden. Wel een prachtig zicht op Palau van op de ontbijtruimte

Super zentrale Unterkunft mit sehr freundlichem Personal. Würde jederzeit wieder buchen. Sehr schöner Ausblick auf den Hafen.

I really liked the balcony looking out at Palau! It was also conveniently located to food, pharmacies and tour meeting points to explore the beautiful islands of the Maddalena Archipelago!

Arrivati alle 22 di sera, scopriamo che non c’è alcun posto nel parcheggio coperto e che anche in strada è difficile parcheggiare. Veniamo accolti da una lunga scalinata, senza ascensore e senza l’aiuto di qualcuno dell’albergo per salire i bagagli. Stesso discorso all’interno dell’hotel, si sale al primo piano senza ascensore. Stanza è una bat caverna fredda e umida, abbiamo acceso il condizionatore per riscaldarla e riportarla ad una temperatura accettabile. Letto scomodo e bagno che emana una puzza insopportabile. Colazione scadente, tutto confezionato e cornetti congelati, nessun servizio.
