Lovely hotel in a lovely village. Very clean, and we had a very spacious room on the top floor. Note - no lift and no aircon though. Wonderful outdoor patio areas, private resident seating area in the bar which was lovely and the breakfast was superb.

Lovely hotel/inn right by the river in Pooley Bridge - they really looked after the enormous number of dogs staying there! Great service and food especially on Christmas Day where the staff were fantastic. Shame they don’t recycle as company policy though - this seems inconceivably backwards in the 21st century.

The hotel is such a great location & lovely inside. The cons: no fridge which can be tough if you have a little one. Also, no charge point for electric toothbrushes. Parking is a gamble. There are paid for parking nearby but a shame the parking spots aren’t reserved for guests. Also, we got stung by the breakfast drinks. We didn’t realise until the end how much we were spending on hot chocolates & lattes. I think the hotel should give you a bill at the end of each breakfast so you are made aware exactly how much you are paying for drinks. The hotel staff were very friendly & it was a great stay otherwise.

Very nice hotel in a beautiful setting. I didn't think it was worth the money as we had to pay nearly £10 for parking and we had to keep the curtains closed as we were over looked by customers on the terrace. There was also a large crack in the sink that had been there some time. The breakfast was tasty, good quality sausage, but would have liked the option of two slices of bacon or two eggs. We had dinner in the pub. Service was poor, we were left without drinks for over half an hour after our meal and again after our dessert. The chairs were uncomfortable. Overall, we didn't feel very welcome, which is a shame, because we were trying the hotel as a possible destination for our honeymoon, next year.

Great hotel, rooms very clean and we got a bottle of water, biscuits, tea, coffee, hot chocolate. We had room 7 and this had an iron and ironing board. It was hot when we went, there is no air con so a large fan was provided. A small amount of cars, about 10 spaces are available at the front of the hotel but they are always taken. A public car park was within 50m of the hotel and charged £8.50 for 24 hours. Hotel bar and restaurants are lovely. It has rear terraces over 3 floors that overlook the river and Pooley Bridge. The weather was fab and the tables were very popular due to the smartness and location. Pub is dog friendly and although lots of people do bring dogs to Pooley Bridge and the Crown, all were friendly safe dogs and on leads. We could always get served even at busy times. They have QR codes on each table so they can bring online orders direct to you. You get what you pay for and it was worth it.

We loved our stay here! The rooms were gorgeous, clean, nice tea and coffee and fresh milk. The most comfortable bed ever! We had a lovely meal and a drink on the terrace looking out over the river, it was bliss! Staff were helpful and friendly, breakfast was awesome, we had a great time, we'll definitely be back!

We went for a three day break after new year. The hotel was slightly busier than we or the staff expected which created a great atmosphere. The hotel is rooms above a restaurant/Pub, neither of which can be heard when you get to your room which was a real pleasant surprise. The residents lounge area at the front of the pub is a great idea, when the log fires are on it really is a great place to relax with a drink and let the dog sleep after a days walking. The bedroom was compact, but very clean & comfortable. The ensuite bathroom (beautifully decorated) is a great size, unlike the bath which was on the small side! The choice of food & drink was superb, lots of fresh ingredients used in the menu. The breakfast was superb, with lots of choice. I have to mention the staff, who from check In to check out were amazing! They are extremely professional and friendly with it. They couldn'tdo more to make you feel very welcome! The village of Pooley bridge is a great base for exploring the Northern area of the lakes. The fact it snowed whilst we were there only added to the villages beauty. We will definitely be returning!

When we arrived we discovered we’d been upgraded to the character room - it was spotless - the gent who checked us in was polite and helpful - bed comfy - room amenities were good and cooked breakfast was 5* - proper Cumberland sausage and great bacon and egg!

Lovely clean accommodation. We stayed out of season so parking was not an issue. Staff all super friendly and helpful. Loved the fresh milk provided for our room daily, much better than the usual UHT given at most hotels! Breakfast was fantastic, great selection and service. Would definitely recommend

Parking spaces very tight. Staff extremely pleasant and helpful. Food superb and plenty of it (although a bit pricey). Room lacking fridge and windows painted shut except one the kept closing when opened. Bed comfy. Bathroom well apppointed although basin was very low. Had to stoop to use it. Hotel well maintained and was very good.

We had a very enjoyable 3 night stay at the Crown Inn. All of the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Our room was on the small side but it was well equipped and very clean, with a comfy bed too. The ensuite was perfect. We ate ate the Inn and all our meals were good and tasty, especially the breakfast with a good range of options.

We were given Room1 The Barn.The room was of ample size with a pleasant decor ,the problem was that the front of the room was a full window facing onto the road /pavement so if you didnt have the curtains closed you had no privacy whatsoever. Also there was a gap underneath the front door of at least 1-1.5 inches that caused a major draft not to mention the noise .It was a very busy location across from a very busy shop with lots of deliveries early morning .I personally would recommend a voil type curtain for privacy to the room allowing guests a little natural light and prehaps a better fitting door the noise and draught spoilt our stay if im honest .The breakfast was fabulous and service was great but the privacy and noise outweighed this.

We were given a ground-floor twin-room (Room1). I had requested a twin-room. Prior to booking, I received a call from the hotel, to confirm that I had requested a twin-room, and it was also mentioned that the room was accessible (I did not need an accessible room). The room has a large window (covered by a curtain) facing the busy local store and tourist information office. When we were in the room during the day, there was no privacy; it felt as if were were sitting in a shop window on view to the shoppers and tourists! If the location of the room had been explained to me during the confirmation phone-call, I would have cancelled the reservation. I conveyed my views when I checked out of the hotel, and was informed that there is only one twin-room in the hotel. On a positive note, if you need an accessible room, this room would great (except for lack of privacy!). The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean.

The room we were given in the annex was very small and not what the write up and previous reviews had stated. It was a lot of small things that made our stay ðifficult. There was no shelf in the bathroom for toilets, milk for tea and coffee had to be collected from the main hotal because there was no phone in the room. The parking was ok but again if we were not able to park in the shopping spaces then we would have to pay to park. We were informed the resturant may close early due to the lack of staff. There are a few small changes that could have made all the difference to our experience. The room we were in, i got the impression from the other guests that their rooms were much bigger, ours could not even fit in chair. When you have been walking all day we really wanted to sit in a chair rather than just having a bed. Over all we were very disappointed, and were told when we arrived that the last room had just gone to a couple who had just turned up and not booked. The staff were lovely, but the price for the room which was not the standard room was not worth the money we paid.

One night stay . hotel spotless , breakfast great , room small very little sleep as very noisy, Noise from kitchen fan / extractor. Until late at night then again early in the morning 4 am onwards. Stairs next to room in constant use till 2am . Some one banging on hotel entrance door at 2.30 am as locked out.

great place, lovely staff, great bar and restaurant , lovely rooms however my room number 3 was really small and way too hot , there was a fan but made no difference i would stay there again but not that room i would request larger cooler room, also i was woken early to banging outside as room faced on to the yard and the noise of next door room banging about in wardrobe

When we booked the room it said it had a partial lake view. The room was tiny and looked on to the busy square which was very noisy. When checking in the area was staffed by the say staff who where serving drinks behind the bar, so we had to wait for a long time.

Otherwise everything was perfect.A big Thank you to the lovely staff especially Amiee who made us feel very welcome and catered well for our dietary needs.

We loved our stay here! The rooms were gorgeous, clean, nice tea and coffee and fresh milk. The most comfortable bed ever! We had a lovely meal and a drink on the terrace looking out over the river, it was bliss! Staff were helpful and friendly, breakfast was awesome, we had a great time, we'll definitely be back!

We had a very enjoyable 3 night stay at the Crown Inn. All of the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Our room was on the small side but it was well equipped and very clean, with a comfy bed too. The ensuite was perfect. We ate ate the Inn and all our meals were good and tasty, especially the breakfast with a good range of options.

Unfortunately, we didn't end up traveling as had an emergency. We booked 3 hotels for our hiking trip and this was the only one that didn't try to accomodate us in some way. I understand their T&Cs are no refunds, but so were the other hotels, and they kindly gave us a partial refund or moved the dates. This hotel also spammed our inbox with several automated/template marketing emails, but don't actually check their own inbox incase of issues. I was also a little surprised to find they had no parking at the hotel, which they clearly advise you after you've booked but is not clear at all pre-booking, which felt slightly misleading. Although we didnt stay, i very much got the feel that this is a corporate chain or large venue whereas the other hotels i communicated with in the similar area gave a much more personal touch.

With the exception of one individual bar staff being rude we had a lovely stay here. Breakfast was excellent, and the staff there serving were extremely friendly and welcoming to dogs. Plenty of local walks and local shops for all of your needs! Thank you again for making our stay so welcoming

Very nice hotel in a beautiful setting. I didn't think it was worth the money as we had to pay nearly £10 for parking and we had to keep the curtains closed as we were over looked by customers on the terrace. There was also a large crack in the sink that had been there some time. The breakfast was tasty, good quality sausage, but would have liked the option of two slices of bacon or two eggs. We had dinner in the pub. Service was poor, we were left without drinks for over half an hour after our meal and again after our dessert. The chairs were uncomfortable. Overall, we didn't feel very welcome, which is a shame, because we were trying the hotel as a possible destination for our honeymoon, next year.

We went for a three day break after new year. The hotel was slightly busier than we or the staff expected which created a great atmosphere. The hotel is rooms above a restaurant/Pub, neither of which can be heard when you get to your room which was a real pleasant surprise. The residents lounge area at the front of the pub is a great idea, when the log fires are on it really is a great place to relax with a drink and let the dog sleep after a days walking. The bedroom was compact, but very clean & comfortable. The ensuite bathroom (beautifully decorated) is a great size, unlike the bath which was on the small side! The choice of food & drink was superb, lots of fresh ingredients used in the menu. The breakfast was superb, with lots of choice. I have to mention the staff, who from check In to check out were amazing! They are extremely professional and friendly with it. They couldn'tdo more to make you feel very welcome! The village of Pooley bridge is a great base for exploring the Northern area of the lakes. The fact it snowed whilst we were there only added to the villages beauty. We will definitely be returning!

Absolutely loved this hotel. The rooms are really nice and the bar and restaurant area are lovely too. Toiletries were the White Company and in bigger bottles so much more eco friendly as it wasn’t the small single use ones that most other hotels insist on using. We had our dog with us and it’s probably the most dog friendly hotel we’ve stayed in. And the location means there’s a lovely walk along the lake in the woods on the doorstep. Our only criticism was the bedroom was absolutely roasting and we couldn’t figure out why as we turned all the radiators off and even had the window open all night (in January!). Would love to go back in the summer and make the most of the outdoor terrace.

Everything about our stay at The Crown Inn was brilliant. The staff were warm, welcoming and the friendly. The hotel, bar and restaurant look great and our room was lovely with modern facilities with nice comfy bed ! We had dinner and breakfast which was delicious - the burger in particular that I had was one of the best that I’ve had. The location is beautiful, a lovely quiet village with great scenery and ideally placed to explore the Lakes. Our only regret is that we only stayed for one night as a stopover on our way to Scotland. We will definitely come back but stay for several nights next time !! We highly recommend.

When we arrived we discovered we’d been upgraded to the character room - it was spotless - the gent who checked us in was polite and helpful - bed comfy - room amenities were good and cooked breakfast was 5* - proper Cumberland sausage and great bacon and egg!

The hotel is such a great location & lovely inside. The cons: no fridge which can be tough if you have a little one. Also, no charge point for electric toothbrushes. Parking is a gamble. There are paid for parking nearby but a shame the parking spots aren’t reserved for guests. Also, we got stung by the breakfast drinks. We didn’t realise until the end how much we were spending on hot chocolates & lattes. I think the hotel should give you a bill at the end of each breakfast so you are made aware exactly how much you are paying for drinks. The hotel staff were very friendly & it was a great stay otherwise.

The hotel is a large old inn on the outside, but inside is modern, clean and very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and looked after us very well. For example: we were shown to our room on arrival (never had that before) and were a font of knowledge about the various local walks and sights. There is even a map painted on the ceiling of the bar! Restaurant was an excellent source of hearty and freshly cooked meals (breakfasts and dinners). Highly recommend.
