Steelhead Inn

I was checked into a room that was already occupied then another room that had no cable for the tv. The last room was ok but the bathroom trim was falling off. A dead bug was hanging from the curtains. The fitted sheet didn’t fit the bed, the carpet was filthy dirty. The Ac barely worked. The next to last day when the staff gave us two new small towels and changed the tiny garbage bag, they left our door OPEN!!!! I will NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN! They are new owners and HORRIBLE! I cancelled my August reservations and going to a new hotel. Oh and the pool was broke! Oh and the front desk is never manned, you have to call the number for someone to come and help you.

From the moment I pulled in I knew it was going to be a disaster. The property looks rough and the pool is green and cloudy. When we entered our room it was hot and SUPER small. We turned on the yellow stained, dusty window unit AC and got an unpleasant musty smell. At first glance it was clean but as we looked around we discovered a dirty bathroom, a used washcloth still in the shower, bugs in the sink, stained furniture, etc. We had to ask for toilet paper and towels because there were none. When we got the towels there were stains all over them. The walls are paper thin, which was unfortunate at 3am when the neighbors were fighting about getting high after we seen them standing in their doorway smoking what looked like a crack pipe. I felt extremely uncomfortable and unsafe, we blocked the door nightly with a chair because there is no deadbolts on the door by the way. Had I had the means to do so, I would have turned around and left the minute I seen the room. But, if you’re looking for a quick fix or possibly a prostitute, this place is perfect for you!

No ice machine, had to go to office a few times to get things fixed. Probably will not stay again

Pool was dirty and bedsprings were broken.making bed slant downhill..staff was rude upon checkout when told about boxsprings. She acted like we must have broken them. We didnt tell them the night before due to it being late when we realized it and we just propped it up best we could.

Didn't like bathroom way to small you have to sit on the toilet sideways😔...also didn't like they wouldn't give you enough towels... example only 2 towels in room but 5 ppl in room plus you had to use the same towels for the swimming pool....it was a head ache had to take turns getting out of the pool to dry off to get another towel from the office after you turned in the towel just to have a dry towel to take a shower....

I stayed because they have a heated pool advertised. We checked in in 6/19 and stayed for 2 nights. Upon checking in I asked to cancel due to the pool not being open. They said I couldn’t. We went to our room. The tv didn’t work. There was no lightbulb in the lamp. The beds were so soft and the springs were poking through. The pillows were so soft. We had to climb over the bed to get to the fridge. The tv was reprogrammed and would randomly shut off and change stations. The shower didn’t drain and the toilet didn’t flush. I would not stay here!!

Location was the only thing good about this place Bathroom toilet was loose and rocked back and forth, yo couldn’t sit on the toilet and close the door unless you basically sat side ways,TV did not work, room was dirty, Pool was dirty, ice machine didn’t work, furniture in the room was literally peeling apart. We stayed her for years and this year it has really gone downhill

First things first I have worked in hospitality so i am a very picky person when it comes to hotels/motels. When we arrived we were early and we were told we cold look at the room but it wasnt finished yet. We noticed a whole bed set was missing from the room. They gave us another room but the floors were covered in dirt, the coffee maker was used and never cleaned after previous guests. The air conditioner when turned on left a FOUL ODOR to the point of making me nauseous! We checked out at 5am to find a better room for our last night in Erie. I reccommend lake breeze its very clean, no foul odors, and excellent rates!

The price was good but the bathroom had bugs in and the TV did not work

We walked into our room at 10 pm, number 17 two weekends ago, and walked into, no less, than 100 sewer flies all over the room. Called the front desk and waited 30 minutes for maintenance to tell us that ‘yeah he knew that there was a problem, but don’t know what’ My husband said right away ‘there’s no P-trap in the shower’. We requested sheets and pillowcases because there were flies all over the bed . We went in in office in the morning, asked to see the manager, and the girl said that she was out of town. I said we would like to request a partial refund. This is unacceptable, gross, I could barely sleep and didn’t take a shower, and the girl said “well if you need to take a shower, I can put you in another room to do that’. I said ‘we’re checking out today as planned’. Never heard from the manager and when our travel agent called, they said Steelhead denied any refund at all saying that I was offered another place to stay and declined it. The girl flat out lied and yet still haven’t heard from the owner. We have been staying there for years and deserve better than this as a customer.

Room 28 stank badly of smoke. The second room was ok. It wasn't very clean

Stayed a property for the night. I came back to room late and when I went for a shower, I realized there was no towels in my room. Nor was there toilet paper. There was dirt in the corner of the bathroom and the one duvet cover on the bed had a stain. Person next to me was smoking and could smell it in my room and hear them coughing all night. The staff was very pleasant but the place needs cleaned better and room that have supplies like toilet paper and shower linen.

Got good sleep first night but the night of Sat. 7/28/2024, neighboring guests were sitting outside nearby and talking loudly until 2:45 AM!

The walls a thin and noises in neighboring rooms are audible. There was a strong smell of mold in the bathroom. On the positive side, the property is clean and rooms are equipped with microwaves and minifridges.

It’s simple and nice , the bed was super comfy and the heater heated up the room almost instantly . A little tlc would step the place up some, the dresser drawers were rough and sitting crooked, the trim pin the bathroom was poorly put together,

This place wasn't that bad. People have to understand that this isn't a massive chain hotel. It's a motel. It worked amazing and it was in a perfect location. Staff was super friendly and plenty of parking. Sure the room and bathroom were a little smaller, but the AC worked amazing and it was so convenient to everything that Erie has to offer. I would definitely stay again.

Was definitely a decent place to stay. You do get what you pay for though. Walls are pretty thin, so you might hear the people next to you. The bed wasnt uncomfortable but definitely worn out. The bathroom is very small but clean. We did have to go ask for toliet paper, as there was none left in the room. Overall, not a terrible place to spend a night, not sure if I would stay longer though.

Check-In was easy and fast but other than that it was a very bad experience. Room was very small. Bathroom is almost claustrophobic neighbors screamed and yelled all night long fighting. I had no TV waited up till 3:00 a.m. for somebody to come and fix it and they never came

We stayed for 3 nights and did not spend much time in the rooms but they were very comfortable for sleeping. The major plus for us was the 2 rooms adjoined which was great for the family.

room was clean. we thought the bed was uncomfortable but beds are a personal preference, others may love it. website states office is open from 9:30am-11pm. we got there a little before 2:30, no one around. number on window to call for help, no one answered. finally after 10 minutes i saw a worker, he said he would get someone. she told we can't check in until 3pm! i have NEVER been told by any motel or hotel i couldn't check in if i was a bit early. i was told to come back after 3! wi-fi wouldn't work in my room. i told front desk but she said it was an incorrect password....well, it works 3 doors up. told another worker about it and he said he would check it out, it didn't work the entire time we were there unless i went 3 doors closer to the office.

Stayed here to run the Erie marathon, very helpful staff let me check in early and were helpful in accommodating me to leave a bit later in the day.

The motel is a nice, quiet place close to the Peninsula, which was why we chose it! The staff was outstanding. It was decent in cleanliness. Room features all worked including air! And it was very affordable!! Great deal for the price!!

DO NOT STAY HERE!!! I checked in and was given a key to a room that was already occupied. I knew that it was already occupied because there was luggage in the room when I opened the door. Luckily the person occupying the room wasn’t in there, or that would’ve been very awkward. I went back to the front desk to bring it to their attention and they gave me a key to another room and that room had stained sheets, and the bathroom wasn’t cleaned thoroughly. I went to the front desk and asked to just cancel the reservation because I was unhappy with the service. They informed me that I would have to cancel with Expedia. Once I called Expedia to cancel, Expedia said that they would have to call the property to confirm the situation. Once the representative from Expedia got back on the line, they told me that this establishment is denying the refund. I called the property and the property manager was very nasty. Please don’t waste your money here. Learn from my experience. I hope this helps the next person with their booking.

Weird smell in room. There was supposed to be breakfast; the first day it opened 10min late, the next day it didn't open at all (it was a holiday, but there was no mentioning on this neither on the door nor at check-in).

Nice staff

The staff is absolutely amazing, rooms well maintained, an ideal location, and an almost non-existent noise level all while being priced at an affordable price. I would highly recommend checking out the Steelhead Inn for anyone looking to visit the Erie area.

Our tiny room was musty dark and damp.The unsupervised kids in the next room stayed up late and loud. The good part was it was close to the beaches and cheap. So we got what we paid for.

Did not live up to the web site. no breakfast, the pool was green, and it says homely features. Little packets of shampoo and a hair dryer the did not work. Overall will not book here again.
