Smallish older rooms but a really cool old building. Quiet, warm and a great price. Mini fridge and hair dryer in room was great. Very helpful staff. Lots of stairs but they have an person manner elevator if you need it.

Front-desk staff were friendly & tried to help offset the inconvenience of zero ADA accommodations. Allowed use of a STEEP ramp in storage area (rear of the hotel) to avoid 2 flights of outdoor stairs just to gain access to the hotel itself. (Husband has 1 leg + a prosthetic.) We brought a shower chair, which barely fit in the bathtub. Was told there was no elevator, so I paid extra to change room to 1st floor. Later learned that there IS an elevator, manually operated by staff. Awful food options & no breakfast food of any kind.

It was not expensive. It did not have a view as advertised. One must climb steep stairs to get in the building. Then, I was in the third floor. They have the oldest elevator still in operation (so says the plaque.) It must be operated by the staff. If they’re busy, you wait. Not terrible—nice staff—but a little inconvenient. The shower is so small I couldn’t wash my feet. Bathroom window didn’t close so I put my violin case in front of it so I wasn’t visible to the neighborhood. Nothing was terrible, but as I age it gets more difficult to do this. I wish Expedia had a way of alerting mobility challenged people this may not be the place to stay.

We were lucky to get there while someone at front desk. Walk up 2 flights of stairs with luggage to get into hotel. If we missed the front desk person, walk 4 flights of stairs with luggage. Elevator manually operated by staff only. Runs until 9, then its stairs. Not a romantic castle by any means.

Nowhere on the website did it say this property was not handicapped accessible. Lots of stairs to get to the entrance. No elevator access for early morning checkout so I had to use narrow, steep stairs with only one handrail.

Fun old pile with a ghost story! Stayed here for two nights with family because of its somewhat unique history and vibe. The hotel is shabby, the restaurant has a mundane menu and is only available for dinner. The elevator can only be operated when staff are at the desk, which means it isn't available for guests arriving after hours. Still, we had fun staying here. Definitely not a chain hotel experience. Rooms are large, there were deer in the garden. Plenty of hot water. But few special amenities. Great value if you are staying off-peak. Overpriced for those travelling in high season given what you get for your money.

Bucket list!! Interior updates in rooms. Nice lounge and restaurant, but no breakfast area only a small microwave, so bring breakfast and eat in room. Need car. Lots of construction noise from hospital renovations next door. We stayed in the honeymoon suite, which was very spacious, water view, updated bathroom, and a small coffee pot. There was a lot of noise and music from the bar directly below until 9PM. Overall spacious room with clean comfortable bed and hot shower!

Property is very unique and interesting. Staff was kind and attentive. Rooms were simple and decently comfortable. Room smelled a bit musty but running the fan and opening the window aired out the room quickly. Big issue was that there was an odor of sewage going into the room that kept us awake most of the night. Opening the windows and keeping the bathroom ventilation fan on did not help. Also note that rooms do not have air conditioning. It was cool during our visit so temperature was not an issue for us.

Castle is cool for sure. The bathroom was new and immaculately clean, the room however hadn't been vacuumed in a while, someone else's dirty socks and undergarments were still under the bed. Just felt run down. The Mexican restaurant in the building was meh, service was meh. Felt like the neighborhood dive that could be amazing but wasn't. It served it's purpose as a place to stay for a few days and nothing was horrific, but probably will stay somewhere else next time.

we were very disappointed with this property.1st, the heat/AC unit noise was unbearable - had to unplug it. 2nd, there were not enough power outlets to run fridge, TV, and coffee maker. 3rd, there were left over items still in the fridge. 4th, the bed was not good at all. we will never go back here. this was bad enough we almost left after the first night.

I love the Manresa Castle, love its history, had a haunting experience the first time I stayed there, not so much this time but that was fine..Looks like it has a fresh paint job on the outside and the building looks very nice, Carpets look dirty around the edges and as I get older im a bit anti carpet but I understand that it goes with the castle, decor etc..

I can handle no AC. Having mold in the bathroom is just unacceptable. It was a nostalgic place to stay, will never go back. Access to hotel was nice.

We checked into the hotel and the property is clearly very worn. The problem came with the possible dust and other airborne particles. My husband’s allergies were so aggravated that he threw up in the parking lot. We left the hotel to get dinner and he was still sick. We checked out without using the room at all. We were not able to obtain a refund because we had not given 48 hours notice. We paid well over $150 for the room. Had he not been physically affected, we would have reluctantly stayed. They need to do a top to bottom serious cleaning of the property. We have never had this experience before.

The rooms were without air conditioning so opening the window was essential. In the middle of the night, low-tide smelled so horrible, the windows had to be closed. So it just got worse. When the windows were open, there were no screens so bugs were able to fly in at will. Awful.

This is an interesting historic property. We appreciated the old photos displayed in the parlor area. The location was very convenient for our purposes, as we were visiting a friend who lives nearby. My only complaint is the scarcity of outlets in the rooms in this device-dependent age we live in.

Noisy from other tenants nearby. Room had a tiny window only for ventilation. Only ice machine was a 100 step round trip from third floor to first floor. No AC. Only one chair to sit. No worth the price by a mile.

The room, 315, that I had was newly refurbished, all new bathroom, floor, tub-shower. No clothes hook in bathroom. No clothes closet or hangers, just a 4 hook rack, has a new mini refrigerator, cold clean. Bed comfortable but slight sag to one side. Carpet looks new, 2 chairs ok, wide-screen TV with Directv service. But the TV audio not setup correctly TV setup not available to user. Overall a nice quiet clean room on 3rd floor, (walkup).

Cool and interesting place with lots of history. The room was clean and comfortable. The ceiling fan and small room fan were appreciated, but an iron would have been nice. My only complaint was that you could hear everything, which is to be expected in an older building. The upstairs neighbor throwing things and stomping around at 2am was brutal though. Wouldn't recommend for people who have difficulty with stairs.

I have always wanted to stay here for as long as I can remember. I was bummed that for spending so much money on this room that the bed wasn’t more comfortable. In fact, I haven’t felt a bed so bouncy in all of my life, it sank rather deeply anytime I went to sit or lie down. I do wish the bathroom would’ve had a counter space or a better area (one that didn’t have a metal grated type shelf for things to fall through) to put my makeup. It also felt very cold and sterile like a hospital which I really didn’t like. I suppose I didn’t expect much more for the time period in which it was created but a little modern love, a dramatic color tone and complimentary touches to really maintain and magnify it’s historic charm would go a long way. I also think the massive clash of wallpapers, and the lack of a quality wall decor, and solid color scheme throughout made a bad impression. This room needs a makeover, replaced missing chandelier prisms & some very basic touches. If done right, this room could feel far more luxurious and better all around to achieve that feeling I had hoped to feel staying here - and unfortunately due to these clashing factors, did not. It was definitely neat in it’s own right don’t get me wrong, and I can finally cross it off my bucket list but I was disappointed that it didn’t feel quite as grand and amazing as I mentally anticipated. More than anything else, that room desperately needs a cozy mattress and better bedding.

The building is a charming European-style hotel that was originally a mansion built by one of the town's founders. Over the past decades, it has been extensively remodeled while retaining its charm. One of the former owners installed bathrooms in each room. Prior to that, each floor had communal bathrooms. We had a West-facing room that had a view of a State office building and strip mall. the East-facing rooms have panoramic views of town and the headwaters of the Salish Sea. Our room had no air conditioning, but it wasn't needed. While the room was comfortable, be aware that the hotel does not meet current ADA standards. We needed another pillow and since there are no phones in the room I had to go downstairs and ask at the desk. The woman was eating her dinner but got right up and got one for me. That’s service with a smile. We enjoyed the music in the bar (Kevin and Jill).

This property has lots of history and potential! It\'s beautiful. However, we had a room with no hot water and only one plug in worked, so we couldn\'t charge our families phones. We didn\'t complain because we were only there one night and didn\'t really need to shower (even though I wanted one). I was still happy! However, when we checked out, told the front desk lady about the plug in and cold water, only to be thoughtful for the next guests staying after us. We stayed in room 207. The lady basically told me that it wasn\'t possible. She asked if I left the hot water running to warm it up. I said "yes" for approx 10-12 mins and it was very cold. She said that was unlikely and not telling the truth. I wasn\'t lying! I am 52 years old and I know how to get warm water. I wasn\'t upset that we had cold water but I was unhappy with her response: I didn\'t need to tell her upon checkout, I was just being thoughtful for future guests. We will not stay there again!

Came the day after halloween, was told it would be a little bit before we could check in at 4 pm. We finally got checked in at 6. Not a good start to a mini vacation. Lounge was not a good experience either. Over priced food for reheated queso and chips. Wifes drink had no orange or pineapple juice in it all sour mix and was nasty. Room was good just not a good start.

The room was nice, the bathroom was big but had a very small shower The hotel was mostly quiet but the doors are super thin so we could hear everyone who walked by. The front desk attendant at check in was great. Super friendly and accomodating. She gets 5 stars.

This is an older building that has been renovated but it still has the charm of an older building. Lots of wood and high ceilings. It was inexpensive and for the money it was great. It is a couple of miles from downtown Pt Townsend so it is a long walk. The bar and restaurant were lively at night. Views from our room of the water and mountains were magnificent.

Great stay at an old heritage Hotel. The facilities could use a little freshening up but however is saying that this is a building that is over 100 years old and that in itself made it a very cool place to stay. Staff was very good and accomodating and took the time to fill us in on the history of the building. a little bit away from town but great views of the bay. Great little BBQ joint two blocks away, doesnt look like much but the food was great. I would recommend this hotel.

We had 80 degree weather, so we used the ceiling fan which didn't help much. Opened the window late at night and it smelled like a sewer, so we just had to deal with the heat. He surrounding areas of the castle can really take you out of the vibe with the construction and pot-holed parking lot/alley.

This is a beautiful historic place, if you like sleek & modern this probably is not for you. Loved the architecture, antiques, history. The bed /bedding was comfy. Very clean. Beautiful harbor view. The mexican food restaurant on site was very convenient, tasty margaritas & live music on a tues. night. The only detraction was the shower was small & tight to get into.

Lots of character and history. Nice to stay in a place that isn't cookie cutter. Room had everything expected, including nicely updated bathroom, but nothing but a small ledge to put toiletries. Could use a small table or deeper shelf. Enjoyed a drink and music in restaurant on site. Very convenient

I love the castle. I have been there before. Wish the restaurant stayed open later. Tv was hard to navigate. Should have instructions. Microwave would be nice in the room.

It would have been nice to know that the lounge and restaurant were closed sundays, The bar was one of the things I was most looking forward to esp as it was also closed the last time I was in town. Also we stayed sun night and Monday is apparently garbage day and from like 7am-9am it was super loud and pretty awful. They could do such a better job making this a cool place. I was pretty disappointed. Won’t stay again.

Well definitely The castle did not live up to the reviews or our expectations of a wonderful old comfortable hotel. Unfortunately the pictures are either very old & deceiving from many years ago. Garden was uninviting and grass brown no upkeep at all. The restaurant onsite was one of the worst Mexican dinners we’ve had. It’s hard not have delicious Mexican food but…. 😫 Oh well. I’d highly recommend the Old Alcohol plant in Port Haddock 15 minutes down the road and then spend the day browsing in Port Townshend which was beautiful and fun.
