Palihotel Westwood Village - West Beverly Hills

The hotel was charming and well-appointed. My only criticism is that the valet parking is quite expensive (although the valets themselves were wonderful).

The location is close to Westwood and UCLA. The rooms are clean and facilities are newer. Complementary breakfast is adequate ( not a lot of variety but most properties around don't offer one). The staff here are friendly and responsive. The sore point of West Beverly hills is parking - not specific to this property but parking charges here are very high (higher than Hawaii from what I can think of). There are some metered parking and cheaper ones if you really search around but not sure about overnight ones. Honestly the properties here should do something about parking . 40-50$ a day is expensive by any standards.

Stayed in the first floor garden room: although there are small, I love the well designed, amenity-stocked rooms in this place. The windows open up to the beautiful garden so you can hear the fountain. They serve continental breakfast while coffee and tea are free all day. The tea selection was very good. Coffee machine makes espresso drinks and hot chocolate, which my college-bound daughter loved. Lobby transforms to breakfast area and shared workspace beautifully. The garden seating is an oasis. Staff was exceptional- thank you for taking care of us. I’ll be back for sure when I return to Westwood!

The hotel was renovated beautifully. Loved the garden view room. Hotel has 3 floors and no elevator. We stayed on first floor, the room was nice and bright. Clean, cozy with a great espresso/coffee machine in lobby works 24 hours a day. Price is not cheap but these days hotels are very expensive. If they offer discount I would stay there often. Great location too. Their parking is pretty high ($42) but we parked in the nice overnight parking couple steps away from them. $9 per day on week ends

Great location, very clean, and friendly staff. I only wish they had an elevator; otherwise, it's a perfect place.

Small cute boutique hotel in a perfect location. This was the second time i stayed there. Staff are friendly, rooms are decorated nicely. There are no elevators.

Charged $45 for Valet and they parked across the street from front door. We could have done that and saved $45.

At check in Andrew was very accommodating. He helped us out with several things we needed. My husband has some mobility issues and he moved us to the most accessible room. The hotel is charming but I didn’t realize there is no elevator until we were there. The shower was the best hotel shower ever! The breakfast was delicious looking and the espresso machine is available 24/7! Great experience. The next time we’re down there we will stay again.

They don’t have an elevator. My wife just had back surgery.

This hotel had a nice feel to it. I picked it because of the beautiful, old, unique building. Due to the age of the building it wasn't soundproof. The only real downside is the lack of parking. You have to find your own on the street; either 2-Hour or metered parking. Although it was free from 8PM - 8AM, it caused a little sress. There is an option for Valet parking ($42?) which meant you could park right in front. Looked like there were three spaces. I appreciated the breakfast. Wonderful made-to-order coffee machine, yogurt and jam in glass jars.

House keeping didnt change the sheets for 7 days although there were stains on it They didnt vacuum the carpet with a lot of dirt on for a few days Reception staff was so kind Breakfast was nice for people waking up hungry

The hotel is really cute and well decorated. Confortable rooms and enough amenities like minibar and toiletries. The breakfast only includes coffee from a machine and croissants or an apple. Rooms aren’t noise proof, you can hear everything from the hallway and neighboring rooms. Daily room cleaning wasn’t too thorough, they seem to only make your bed and change towels.

DO NOT STAY in this hotel, rude front desk and my room was NOT cleaned in two days. I requested assistance and was told that staff had gone home for the day… When staying at a hotel I expect my room to be cleaned

Great location. Very limited breakfast, no protein, no juices, it’s not great. Plastic cups, paper plates. The smell in the hotel isn’t nice.

The room was dirty with no change of linens when I arrived at 4:00. I requested housekeeping services for my stay. Second night the room was not cleaned nor linens changed. Unfriendly staff. No one apologized. I wrote to regional manager. No reply.

Very clean, quiet small hotel in a lovely quiet area. Beds were comfortable and the sheets soft.

This boutique hotel is a favorite. We’ve stayed here multiple times when visiting our daughter. Staff is exceptional and the hotel is immaculate. Highly recommend it!

Very sweet staff and room spotless

This was quite possibly the cleanest hotel I’ve ever stayed in. The staff was polite and friendly.

Really nice rooms but the walls were so thin I didn't get any sleep or relaxation, which was the entire point of my stay. I could hear doors slamming and the guests above me the entire night and into the early morning hours. Very nice staff though. Avoid if you are a light sleeper.

Front staff were excellent, shower had hot water and great water pressure/shower head, and bed was super comfy.

Room was very stylish and comfortable although a bit small. Bed was extremely comfortable. Loved the all day coffee and continental breakfast. Staff were so friendly and helpful.

The building and decor are lovely and the staff very friendly and helpful; the bed is also very comfortable. However, the Standard Room with King Bed is really only suitable for solo travellers and seems to be set up that way (one robe, one set of towels). It’s difficult to overstate how small it is: the bathroom sink is in the bedroom; the wardrobe/storage space is almost non-existent; the fridge can only be accessed by moving the chair; the safe only accessed by moving the bedside table etc. And because your neighbours are so close, whenever they do anything (from closing a blind to using the bathroom) it feels like they’re in your room with you … which, depending on the hours they keep, can seriously hamper a decent night’s sleep.

The Palihotel is a small, three-story hotel in a converted 1920s apartment building. We spent three nights there. As hotels go it is reasonably comfortable and quiet (but see below). Our room was furnished in a faux-Deco, Ikea style with fairly comfortable beds, two not-so-comfortable side chairs, limited storage space and no desk or table, which is an issue if you want to work. I complained about that and they graciously put a small table in my corner room (apparently only an option in a larger room). The bathroom is sparse but efficient and the shower has lots of water pressure and hot water – possibly the best hotel shower I have ever been in. The windows open, which is nice in the evening. The rooms are very clean. The parking is valet and pricey. If you don’t need access to your car there are lots of much cheaper self-park options nearby. The breakfast is minimal: coffee (no real milk or cream), apples and bananas, jars of yogurt and what looked like some packaged store-bought croissants or rolls. The location is near the center of Westwood Village which can be surprisingly dreary and lifeless at night. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. Our biggest negative is that the floor/ceiling barrier seems thin. We could hear the people in the room above walking around, dropping things, etc. You get that to some extent in many hotels but it seemed much more pronounced and annoying here. If that’s an issue with you, you should make sure you get a room on the third floor.

I thought it was odd that there wasn't a sink in the bathroom.

Good boutique property. Rooms are on the smaller side with a clear separation between the sink and toilet bath area. Comfortable bed and great decor. Room in the lower levels are well insulated for sound. Front desk service ranged from really helpful to indifferent. Morning breakfast is continental style with few options. 24 hour coffee and water in the lobby area which has great seating. Our room did not have a desk so used the lobby area for work. Wifi speed was okay. All in all a comfortable two night stay.

This is a really charming hotel with some old world character, but recently updated with newer amenities. The breakfast starts the day off right. The bed is comfy and the room was quiet. The hotel staff are very kind and accommodating.

Outstanding service - very friendly and helpful staff! This is a WONDERFUL place to stay if visiting LA. I would stay here again!! There is a parking facility close by for all day parking (rates were $20/day). You can park on the street but there are times when you need to move your vehicle. The FRONT DESK staff are WONDERFUL! Very professional and helpful!

The staff was outstanding. Everyone from the guy at valet on Friday night to the check-in guy to the checkout woman on Saturday. Very friendly fast and efficient. I didn’t have to ask for Vip status for the upgrade. He automatically did it for me. Had beautiful view. And the valet guy went way out of his way For us.

The room was small, but fine. There is no free parking (fine), but the valet guy was incredibly rude. He spent every day watching youtube videos at full volume. The staff inside completely ignored us. It was weird. I have never written a bad or mixed review of a hotel before, but we were there for 4 days and the staff was quite rude and dismissive. Would not recommend.

Check in is 3pm. We showed up at 3:45pm and our room wasn’t ready. We waited until 4:45 pm and gave up. We went to dinner and upon our return the room was finally ready. Nice place but that was disappointing.

Great service! Valet especially!

Staff was terrible. We arrived an hour before checkin time which was no problem to wait for the room to be ready. Over 30 minutes after the 3pm check in time, the room was still not ready. A member of the staff was overheard saying that we can wait because we are not full paying customers since we booked the room through Hotels.com. Priority was given to other customers. Not cool. Then on Saturday morning there was no continental breakfast as told. The coffee machine they had also only made black coffee, no creamer or sugar was available. And, there was no staff to assist. The room was fine but the walls were thin. We could hear the couple in the next room at 2:30am and needed to bang on the wall to get them to be more quiet.

Always a lovely stay at the Palihotel, Westwood Village. Comfortable and quiet rooms, friendly staff and great location. It's become my favorite place to staying when visiting LA.

Great hotel. We stayed for 3 nights in July and highlights were the brilliant staff who really care about the hotel and the service they are offering. When they realised it was our anniversary they delivered a bottle of Rose to our room which was a lovely touch. The breakfast offering was nice in the mornings along with the coffee / tea / water which was available throughout the day. Only area for improvement would be the size of the rooms. Our room was very small for 2 people which was slightly disappointing. It’s a boutique hotel with a small number of rooms so I am not sure there are many rooms that would be that much larger, but that’s something we would explore if we stayed again.

This was a fine boutique hotel, the room was cute but the customer service was awful. The evening prior to check out, I was told that overnight valet parking was $15. The next morning I went to check out and to get my car from the valet in the morning around 6am. The valet person was nowhere to be found. The front desk said he did not have a cell phone and he had no way to contact him. I asked him to call the hotel manager and he told me that he did not have a phone number for the hotel manager. What kind of hotel doesn't have a number for their manager? I asked the front desk to print my invoice, but he was unable to do so because their system was down. He told me he emailed me the invoice but I did not receive anything in my email. Apparently the valet runs from 6am - 10pm, so theoretically the valet guy should have been there to give me my car, but he was running late?? I was however not even told that there were hours for the valet. No one communicated that to me at all. Then on my invoice, I was charged $42 for parking, when the guy told me it was $15. After about 30 minutes of waiting around, the front desk guy absolutely helpless saying there was nothing he could do to help, the valet guy shows up and brings me my car. The hotel manager showed up shortly before that. The cherry on top of this entire frustrating experience was that the hotel manager has been extremely rude to me about the entire situation!!!

Great location to visit UCLA

Super cute restored hotel in a safe neighborhood close to UCLA. We enjoyed the awesome espresso machine in the lobby, as well as the decor. Our room was a decent size (2 queens) and had a nice bay looking out onto a tree-lined street. I appreciate the windows and easy to close window coverings for privacy. We chose street parking and it was actually super easy - free from 8pm to 8am. I just moved my car a few spots and fed the meter. We walked to a few great restaurants and I had a nice jog through the mature, nice homes of Brentwood nearby! I’m really glad we chose to stay here vs. the bigger chain hotels nearby.

Outstanding check in guy. Love this hotel. It’s in a great area. Walkable to UCLA law school, lots of restaurants and coffee shops, is clean and very modern. Very LA. It’s in the middle of Westwood. 20 min walk to UCLA law, 5-10 min walk to dining and coffee. 15 min walk to Weyburn apts.

The hotel is steps away from UCLA and it is in the heart of Westwood Village close to all the shops and restaurants.

Wonderful central location to UCLA and the business district of Westwood. I really enjoy the Palihotel brand and plan to stay on their properties whenever possible.

This property is conveniently located near ucla and the ucla hospital- it’s a convenient walking area with lots of shops and food.

Stayed 1 night while visiting UCLA. Great location with restaurants in walking distance. Only thing is that you can hear people when they are in the corridor and also while the pastries and coffees are nice, it would be nicer if there were more of a continental breakfast selection and also a decaf coffee option and fresh milk.

Clean room, very cool furniture. The shower head was from the roof, cool way to shower. The breakfast was excellent, nothing to get full but enough to start your day. The vintage hotel look was out of this world. Definitely recommend it.
