Nice area, easily walkable to the train station. About the hotel, it is true about the check-in. There is no dedicated reception. To check-in and out you have to enter through the restaurant. Once they give you a key card you have to enter and exit through the back of the building. The room was good temperature but a bit small. It is quite loud outside but if you have the windows closed you can barely hear anything. Lots of bars around and restaurants. So at night it gets really busy and loud. The only thing i could say is they could do better with the breakfast options.

Not only is there no parking at the hotel and not only is there no loading/unloading zone, there is no way to drive within a few blocks of the hotel. Parking is in a pay garage located across the river from the hotel. This meant lugging luggage over a bridge and then several more blocks to the hotel.

The issue is that it this was NOT a hotel . It is a few decent rooms above a steakhouse. There was no reception or lobby or night staff. Ideally i would like a refund, as this was advertised as a hotel but was just rooms above a restaurant.

what a truly strange hotel. It sits on top of what looks to ne an excellent steak house yet you enter through an ummarked door in the back alley. There is no lobby, you sit at an empty table in the restaurant and fill out your registration then are hurried back into the dingy service area to an unmarked elevator and your room. The room itself isnt bad, though negotiating large suitcases requires some finesse. Our room was on the front corner so had lovely views of the small piazza outside. the bathroom was quite small bit clean- toiletries had to ne put on a window ledge on the bedroom. We were there for more than one night it may have annoyed me more; as it was I chalk it up to yet another quirky stay

On the positive: great location, comfy clean bed and delicious steak if you eat dinner there. On the negative: They provide slippers for good reason, floor is filthy. Safe was not working, when requesting repair, could only be addressed next day, useless as I only stayed one night, so had to carry all valuables on my person when out the room. Shower runs hot and cold, so either you get a cold shock or get scalded. Did not appreciate the attutude of certain staff there.

Convenient location in Zurich Old Town. Only 10 mins walk from Zurich HB station and 5 mins from Central tram station. Friendly staff. Bathroom was small but with a good shower. Resonable breakfast choice and quality. Bedroom No. 4.7 was very, very small, and could have been cleaner - there was a hair clip on the floor from a previous occupier. Throughout the night, the Air Conditioning (A/C) unit periodically made a loud rattling noise lasting for approximately 30 secs each time - this didn't make for sound sleeping. Some street noise with the bedroom window open (if the A/C was switched off due to rattling noise!). Value for money? - not really. Hotel Old Town served a purpose but we're not likely to be staying again.

Non working AC, non working safe, crawl in shower (literally), my wife is 5’4 and she hand to bend down to get into the shower, yes she was able to stand straight once inside, but anyone over 5’10 will not be able to!!!! Great location in old town, close to metro. If location is your priority then its great, but comfort is far from the desired.

The room was small but roomy enough for one person. I could not find a way to regulate the air temperature from the mini-split so I had to open the windows to get some cooler air. Breakfast was quite nice with excellent coffee and eggs, bread, and yoghurt.

Room was incredibly small, but functional for 1 night. I don’t know if we could have done multiple nights. The location is good. The staff was very helpful. The worst part was the tiny, blanket that two people were supposed to use which gave us a terrible nights sleep.

Staff very friendly, room a bit dated and few outlets for charging. Breakfast was well done a delicious. Main restaurant was a steakhouse which looked good, but we didn’t try. Sound of church bells ringing throughout the night got in the way of a good sleep.

Das Zimmer im obersten Stock , welches ich bekam, war genau unter dem Hotelgebläse. Es war so laut, dass das Schlafen unmöglich war. Ich ging zum Hotelmanager und beschwerte mich bzw. fragte nach einem anderen Zimmer. Der Hotelmanager meinte, es gäbe kein anderes Zimmer und wenn mir dieses nicht passt, kann ich mir ein anderes Hotel suchen. Daraufhin verließ ich das Hotel, in der Meinung, dass die Buchung damit storniert ist. Auf sofortiger telefonischer Rückfrage von mir bei hotels.com sagte man mir, dass das Hotel Old Town nicht bereit ist, mir die Kosten rückzuerstatten. Daraufhin kehrte ich ins Hotel Old Town zurück und wollte mein Zimmer wieder haben, da ich für die Nacht nicht doppelt zahlen mochte. Der Hotelmanager verweigerte mir jedoch die Unterkunft Das Hotel verweigert auch nach Intervention von hotels.com die Rückerstattung. Ich muss jetzt also 2 Nächte für ein Hotel zahlen, in der mir die Unterkunft verweigert wurde und hotels.com rührt keinen Finger.☹️☹️

This hotel is ok for one night if you need a place to stay near the train station and in old town. The room is poorly lit with non-functional fixtures and has zero charm. Personnel are abrupt. It was fine but I would not stay here again.

We loved our stay in Zurich, the hotel is in a perfect spot and it is nice and clean and had AC. As well as a very nice and intimate breakfast. I accidentally left an ipad in the room and the staff was so accommodating, helping me get it mailed home. I appreciate it very much.

Excellent service! Louisa was very friendly and welcoming! She went out of her way to help me find my way around the city! The room was very clean and comfortable! The breakfast was delicious and offered a nice variety of food!

Hotel is very European Nice. But I am disappointed with my Hotel.com friends for NOT mentioning that this Old Town Area is Party central until the bars close after midnight and the crowds hit the street until 1 AM and later.Then at 7 am the Bar keepers are disposing of their empty noisy bottles and getting deliveries across the cobblestone lanes. All the while the Hotel that Has A/C won't give you the controller for it because it is not hot enough outside. They say "open the windows" which makes it impossible to sleep. I asked for a fan, was told don't have any. So you over heat in the bedroom which by the way you only get one pillow each. Not acceptable in a 4 star hotel. And anytime some one moves their desk chair the wood legs on the wood floors wakes up the dead. I have to say this Hotel is right in the heart of old town (and very clean ) if you don't mind the noise. My wife and I had 3 hours of sleep each night for 3 days. I will stay across the river next time and walk to Old Town hopefully well rested. PS you can check in at the Steak Restaurant on the ground floor, they apparently run the place. Breakfast is OK, the coffee bar is good.

Unusual in that you check-in with restaurant staff. Had to duck to enter the shower. Otherwise no complaints. Staff kindly loaned me a plug adapter (Switzerland is different from Germany which I didn't realize).

Hotel Old Town is conveniently located in Zurich to explore the central city and points beyond. Close to the train station to allow travel outside the city. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.

Hotel was nice. Small as expected for a European hotel. Disappointed as I left a phone charger in the room. When I went back to ask for it, they showed no interest in assisting and said they would "call and let me know".

Hotel Old Town is situated in a very convenient area close to the central railway station, buses and trams so it’s easy to explore different parts of Zurich and beyond. Although the hotel is located in a busy street in the Old Town, the rooms are very quiet, even those overlooking the main street. Check in is in the steakhouse restaurant situated below the accommodation, but it is quick and easy. Breakfast was included, and although basic (could do with a bit more fruit) it was an adequate meal (eggs, cheese, meats, muesli, corn flakes, fruit, some salad, plain and flavoured yoghurt, bread, jams, coffee and tea). Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was of a good size and very comfortable. Would recommend to those looking for a reasonable priced hotel in Zurich that is close to everything and has all the basics.

Room was as shown in pictures. Clean, no frills, great for an overnight stay. Convenient location and lots of dining options in the area. From Zurich airport take #10 tram to Central and walk 5 mins. Cobblestones streets so just be aware of that. Old town sites just a stones throw across the street by the river. I'd stay here again for short stay. Breakfast options were good. So close to Zurich HB (10 mins)

This was our final hotel after 8 days in Switzerland. When looking for the hotel you’re looking for a restaurant as the hotel doesn’t have a traditional lobby. It has an elevator up to the 4th floor and the room had AC. To say the bathroom is small is an understatement, check out the picture. The breakfast was just ok, and didn’t start until 7:30. The hotel is in a good location, and less than a 10 minute walk to the main train station.

The room was clean and the breakfast good. Staff were helpful. The main shortcoming was that the hotel played canned music at breakfast - I prefer quiet. They also did this in the evening (when it is a steakhouse), although we could have gone elsewhere to eat then. Also there is a public clock somewhere near which chimes the quarter hour and is not switched off at night. (Not the hotel's fault nor the fact of our not knowing that Swiss electric sockets are different from other European ones.)

We took this place because of the price and a few good reviews. Breakfast selection was very limited. Rooms were small and staff not too friendly. Restaurants right outside so it can get noisy. Very convenient to transportation trams and trains. Nice location.

Great spot in the old town. It’s across from a bar that stays open until 2am on the weekends so unfortunately it can be loud when you’re trying to sleep. Nothing the hotel can do of course but a fair warning! Breakfast included is such a bonus in an expensive city. They stored our luggage from 7am to check in. 8 min walk from the train station. I would definitely stay again.

We arrived earlier than checking so we just sat in bar area waiting for room to be ready. When a staff member came in an hour later, she said hello and oh, your room has been ready. Do it would have been nice for staff to communicate. Great location. Room was fine, nothing fancy.

The only good thing about the room was that it had air conditioning. The room was incredibly noisy. There is a DJ that plays until 3am in the courtyard beside the hotel. It was so incredibly loud (even with earplugs) I was surprised the building didn’t shake. Forget about sleeping. Lights didn’t work or couldn’t be plugged in as there wasn’t a power strip. Overpriced. Deadbolt on door didn’t work.
