The manager is a total deutcshnag. Incredibly narcissistic a terrible person. My booking was made several hours prior to my arrival at the property after five pm. I found no one on the property, called the posted number half a dozen times no answer. Was about to leave and find replacement lodging when another guest came in who contacted the manager and was able to get a key to a room. The room was on the third floor no elevator, hot day one tiny and extremely loud air conditioner in the room. TV didn’t work, all night, oh brother! Next morning manager told me why he didn’t answer my call, but not why he didn’t have my reservation in place on the front desk like two other guests keys and paperwork were in plain view. He began telling me he was the victim and I should leave the property. The guy is insane, demon possessed, delusional and of course sociopathic narcissist. In the last year I’ve stayed in over one hundred hotels traveling the USA and spent over $30k; this was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had. I believe this manager is a part owner of the property, but have no doubt he is pure evil.

An older quaint and elegant small hotel with lovely clean rooms. Spa experience was fantastic and the staff was very welcoming and professional! The hotel is walking distance to town and dining. Breakfast was standard but good with exceptional service. Part of the charm is the fact the rooms are old… but they are very clean and comfortable. The parking is tight, especially with larger vehicles. We will plan to go there again!

We liked that the owner was there at the property. Serving Breakfast, cleaning room etc. Very friendly and very relaxing..great massage as well. Were coming back. Besy B&B we stayed at in the last 3 years..highly recommend this location.

The location was great - it was very walkable to the Waterfront and the other museums in the area. The spa services were also really convenient since we stayed over. There was also an electric car charger about a 2 minute walk away as well.

The Heron is a very well maintained vintage building with the creature comforts and customer service to entice me to want to return for a longer visit. There’s ample parking and we were able to plug in our electric car. The lobby area features an appealing lounge with massive fireplace and seating as well as the breakfast dining area. Breakfast was of a good standard with fruit and eggs made to order . The rooms have a mixture of vintage charm and expansive windows along with a nice bathroom with tub and shower . The bedding was sumptuous and the room very clean and thoughtfully appointed . This review would be I complete if I didn’t mention the staff who were very warm and friendly and helpful , just what a traveller needs. The Heron will undoubtedly be the place I want to stay, the next time I visit the charming town of La Connor with its boutiques and galleries.

An older quaint and elegant small hotel with lovely clean rooms. Spa experience was fantastic and the staff was very welcoming and professional! The hotel is walking distance to town and dining. Breakfast was standard but good with exceptional service. Part of the charm is the fact the rooms are old… but they are very clean and comfortable. The parking is tight, especially with larger vehicles. We will plan to go there again!

It was nice-the staff is fabulous. Found the bedding had dirty spots on it-eww. It looked like it just needed to be laundered, but kind of creepy.(it was on the shams and the fleece blanket at the foot of the bed.

Not the experience we hoped for We stayed one night at the Heron Inn and, unfortunately, will not be returning. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere felt cold and unwelcoming. The front desk person barely acknowledged us — simply pointed to our keys on the counter and said our room was up two flights. No greeting, no warmth, no effort to make guests feel welcome. We booked the so-called “Romantic Suite,” but it was anything but romantic. My partner kept hitting his head on the low, uneven ceiling, the jetted tub was underwhelming, and the bathroom had a musty odor. For the price, we were not impressed. Breakfast — one of the reasons we chose a bed and breakfast — was only served from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m., which felt unreasonably short. It was the end of our trip, and we wanted to sleep in a bit, so we missed it entirely. The worst part of our stay came the next morning, when my partner took our dog for a walk and was confronted by the owner. He was required to pay an unexpected $50 pet fee on the spot and had to provide his credit card information — even though I had made the reservation and should have been contacted directly. The owner then lectured him about booking through Expedia instead of directly with the inn, which was uncalled for and highly unprofessional. We only stayed here because I had an Expedia credit that reduced the cost — otherwise, it’s overpriced for what it offers. We will not stay there again.

From the moment we walked in the front door, our experience here was wonderful. Alvin met us to make sure we had the keys to our room, as well as go over everything that we needed to know about our stay. He even helped us with our dog who was a little shy having walking up the stairs to the 3rd floor--bacon is always a motivating factor! The room was nice and cozy and faced the back of the property which lead to a beautiful sunrise against the Cascade Mountains the next morning. The breakfast was wonderful and made to order for us. Overall, our stay and experience at The Heron Inn was excellent!

Not the experience we hoped for We stayed one night at the Heron Inn and, unfortunately, will not be returning. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere felt cold and unwelcoming. The front desk person barely acknowledged us — simply pointed to our keys on the counter and said our room was up two flights. No greeting, no warmth, no effort to make guests feel welcome. We booked the so-called “Romantic Suite,” but it was anything but romantic. My partner kept hitting his head on the low, uneven ceiling, the jetted tub was underwhelming, and the bathroom had a musty odor. For the price, we were not impressed. Breakfast — one of the reasons we chose a bed and breakfast — was only served from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m., which felt unreasonably short. It was the end of our trip, and we wanted to sleep in a bit, so we missed it entirely. The worst part of our stay came the next morning, when my partner took our dog for a walk and was confronted by the owner. He was required to pay an unexpected $50 pet fee on the spot and had to provide his credit card information — even though I had made the reservation and should have been contacted directly. The owner then lectured him about booking through Expedia instead of directly with the inn, which was uncalled for and highly unprofessional. We only stayed here because I had an Expedia credit that reduced the cost — otherwise, it’s overpriced for what it offers. We will not stay there again.

An older quaint and elegant small hotel with lovely clean rooms. Spa experience was fantastic and the staff was very welcoming and professional! The hotel is walking distance to town and dining. Breakfast was standard but good with exceptional service. Part of the charm is the fact the rooms are old… but they are very clean and comfortable. The parking is tight, especially with larger vehicles. We will plan to go there again!

The location was great - it was very walkable to the Waterfront and the other museums in the area. The spa services were also really convenient since we stayed over. There was also an electric car charger about a 2 minute walk away as well.

The breakfast was not memorable as I think a B&B breakfast should be. Just very plain fare of scrambled eggs, sausage and potatoes. And it had apparently been prepared ahead of time, as we came in toward the end of the breakfast period. Other patrons complained that the coffee that was in the self-serve pot was cold.

The Heron is a very well maintained vintage building with the creature comforts and customer service to entice me to want to return for a longer visit. There’s ample parking and we were able to plug in our electric car. The lobby area features an appealing lounge with massive fireplace and seating as well as the breakfast dining area. Breakfast was of a good standard with fruit and eggs made to order . The rooms have a mixture of vintage charm and expansive windows along with a nice bathroom with tub and shower . The bedding was sumptuous and the room very clean and thoughtfully appointed . This review would be I complete if I didn’t mention the staff who were very warm and friendly and helpful , just what a traveller needs. The Heron will undoubtedly be the place I want to stay, the next time I visit the charming town of La Connor with its boutiques and galleries.

The room on the 2nd floor was great, across from the massage room. Had a great massage. Breakfast was okay, nothing special. Actually on the healthy side with absolutely no sweets other than fruit on a Friday morning. I wish it was earlier, only served from 8:30-9:30 a.m. A few blocks from the main shopping street, Morris, in La Conner. Tip, go to Coa for the best ever Mexican food (and I am picky about Mexican food) close to the Inn.
