Overnight stay. Lack of luggage cart was not good. Lack of secure parking also not good. Comfortable bed and pillows.

No elevator, next time need to request lower level room

I really enjoyed the town and atmosphere of the hotel but the experience with the hotel staff was underwhelming. We booked this stop as a nice break to our travels. We were very impressed with the amenities the rooms had to offer. The day before the trip we were called to inform us the bar was closed for a private event, no big deal. Also seeing if we could check in later due to being short staff. So we arrive to the hotel to find the private event was a wedding and unable to use the entrance by the parking lot which we dealt with. So all was well until the wedding began and you could hear everything as it was right out our room window. We were trying to get a good night’s sleep as we had a ten hour drive early the next day but that was impossible. All the noise from the wedding was heard in our room. The worst part was the bass from the dj that shook our room and made it impossible to sleep. We patiently waited until 1015 figuring there would be some noise restrictions. Then we finally called the front desk who informed us it would be wrapping up any minute. Instead it went on for another hour. It would have been nice for the hotel when they called to inform us of the wedding and the dj during our stay. We requested management to contact us regarding our stay and that never happened. So be aware of events at the hotel before booking your stay.

There was an event in the building with a live band, and the bar was closed to the public. We weren’t informed of this until check in.

Parking is horrible

Very nice small boutique hotel. Had a queen room, bed was very comfortable. There was only one chair which was fine since I was traveling solo. The heating system was a little challenging to figure out and it kept turning off which is my reason for only 4 stars. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Plenty of parking while I was there, could be an issue if there is an event at the performing arts center across the street.

Great property with unique rooms. Loved the location for its walkability to nearby restaurants and the riverfront. Parking can be a minor inconvenience if your room is in the annex building as it's more of a walk unless you can get street parking that's closer. My advice would be to pull up and drop off luggage, etc.. at the door and then proceed to parking behind the main building. Just something to be aware of if you have mobility issues. Overall, I would highly recommend staying here.

Cute hotel. Clean. The one big downside was that the hotel often hosts events in their bar area, which you can see pictures of on the website, and this meant two things: 1.) you are not able to use the bar as a guest during the events which last most of the night 6pm-midnight; and 2.) the hotel is very small and you can hear the very loud event all night long. My family went to bed around 8:30 but the party on the night we stayed went until very late in the night and kept us all awake. If you are traveling as a family, you may want to make sure you are not staying on an event night.

The 1857 is an exceptionally clean hotel. The artwork and ambience are unique and inviting. If you like history, and character, you'll really enjoy your stay here. A couple of considerations before staying. You need to be able to navigate steps because there is no elevator. Although, the stairs aren't steep at all. The amenities have limits because it's an old building that's been converted into a hotel. Parking is limited to street parking.

Loved the cleanliness of our room and the staff were really courteous and helpful. The bed was comfortable and for our travel needs it was just fine. We stayed in room 104 and it did have a musty smell when entering the room, don’t know if it’s because of the age of the building but it was noticeable. Would stay there again if ever in the Paducah area.

Quick check in/out, ample free parking, multiple good restaurants, shops and bars within a short walk. Our only negatives were that their internet isn't the strongest, and there was no door or curtain on the shower area (no tub in our room).

This boutique hotel is a gem. The rooms and decor are impeccable. The hotel bar is beautiful. Housekeeping is outstanding. Very friendly staff.

Friendly staff, room and common area was super clean. Location was within walking distance of downtown area shops and restaurants.

Unique, but lacking. The shower was wide open no real door and kinda chilly. The tile had Pink mold in the grout, because the water doesn’t drain properly. The idea of a wet room/bathroom was great but the execution was off. The room we had in the annex had one 2’ x 3’ window covered partially by a blackout curtain- thankfully at night because there’s a motion light that went on/off all night and a sliver of light would illuminate the room. sunlight was nonexistent. The bed was nice but my wife and I felt it tilted towards the headboard ever so slightly but discernible. Gap at bottom of main door was too large for my liking as well and could use a sweep. Room was clean in general. People and bartenders in main building were top notch. Needs someone with attention to detail to fine tune each room and it’ll be worth the money.

We love the condo! It is super neat and the staff is great. Our only complaint was the fabric on the furniture was stained up and we hated to sit on it. Other than that we had a wonderful time.

We enjoy staying in older hotels because they have such a unique character. This one was right downtown in a historical area, but it still had plenty of parking in a public lot behind it. The check-in staff were very helpful and friendly. It was very clean. Being an older building, there were come slightly unusual elements. The shower was in a small room with no door, so our floor got wet the first time we used it. The lighting was a little dark. The Edison bulbs were great for character, but very hard to see to read. I would definitely stay there again.

This is a unique property with interesting features, but would recommend that they improve the lighting next to the beds (not good for reading).

Rooms don’t have adequate insulation so noise is an issue. We could hear every step being made by our neighbor which woke us up very early.

We were personally contacted by the hotel staff to let us know that our room would be ready and waiting for us when we arrived. Our room is spacious; the shower is amazing, and the bed is a dream!

WiFi in room 103 did not allow for streaming, weak and unusable signal. Other than that, the place is very nice.

The front desk worker was not friendly. The room had historical charm but was too small for two people. There was no place to hang clothes /coats except two hooks on either side of the open access shower. We had to put our jackets on the bed to keep them dry so we could have a shower. There was no fridge in the room and no breakfast. The location was walkable to downtown restaurants and sites.

Oddly laid out room. Very uncomfortable chairs and bed. Door to the room wouldn't latch unless we pushed on it. Told them at check in and two days later is was still not fixed.

Professional and friendly staff

This was a last-minute reservation due to car problems and the staff went above and beyond to make our brief stay enjoyable.

WOW! They have converted several old 3 story, high ceilinged buildings near the waterfront. The room design, decor and layout are amazing. We were looking for a room with a tub and they upgraded us. Incredible, especially for the price. Super quiet and a perfect location. We walked everywhere. Will definitely stay here every time we are in Paducah! Shout out to Michelle at the front desk she is great!!

Nice property. Very clean, and walkable to several dining options. The afternoon/night shift front desk employee is quite rude, but the morning staff are the gold-standard of how it should be. We travel to Paducah multiple times a month, and will probably stay here again. Hopefully the rude staffer was just having a bad night.

Staff was wonderful, offering helpful tips on anything. Great location. Highly recommend

Unique hotel with no parking and subpar service.

Collin called to confirm the day before my arrival and on arrival he was very welcoming and went out of his way to point out walking directions to downtown and the waterfront and said if I needed anything he would be there to help. This old building was in beautiful condition with local artists work showcased each month. The room was comfortable, clean, and had everything I needed. The town is original with restaurants, shops, and a great place to walk around right outside the front door. I would definitely stay again,

The location of the 1857 was great and an easy walk to many restaurants, shops and the river. Our room was on the first floor and had plenty of room with high ceilings and a comfy bed. The desk staff was friendly and helpful. We would stay here again.

Our stay was fantastic! The staff was super friendly, rooms were very clean and we loved the vibe and decor! Beds slept well and the ac worked great! Is in the heart of the downtown district with loads of nearby activities.
