I am frequently in SF, but have never stayed at Hotel Via. Just the location down a quiet little alley felt like a get away from the hustle of the city. We were immediately greated by the enthusiastic valets at the entrance. The lobby is spacious, impeccably clean and modern. The front desk staff was pleasant and attentive. They explained all of the amenities and brought our complimentary bottle of wine. I appreciated that it was a very nice Coppola red from Sonoma. The room was a touch warm, but a quick AC adjustment took care of that. There was also a bit of a funk on our level that some air freshener I know would have taken care of. If I had to guess, I would say it was caused by some plumbing inadequacy, but it wasnt bad enough to be a problem. It could have also been HVAC related, the air circulation up there didn't seem to be the best. The room was comfortable. There is a dedicated Android tablet that controls the room lights and AC Temp. The tech was a fun amenity, but it was a bit glitchy. The tablet was out of charge when we got there and the TV required a restart. The bed was comfy and the bathroom was spacious, well appointed and comfortable. We did make a visit to the rooftop lounge. The view is beautiful, the cocktails were tasty, as was the charcuterie we ordered with the. There was a white party themed event going when we arrived. Part of the patio was closed for that and the guests made for some fun people watching. Overall, it was a good stay and I would boo

The room was small and felt a little cramped. The bathroom was nice but wish the sliding door closed completely so there would be a little more privacy since the room was small. Having the tablet in the room was nice but had to lay it down flat so the brightness wouldn’t light up the whole room. It was a nice hotel overall.
