Hilton Garden Inn Arvada Denver, CO

Booked for our OWN hockey trip. NOT through the traveling teams booking agent, we lived 1.5 hours away but our games dictated made it hard to go back and forth. I recommended to our team to stay here. Several years ago we had a nice time. At check in the front desk person complained to us about the teams staying there from previous night. I agreed teams swim, they gather in lobby, kids ( depending on ages) run around a bit. I said we are not under that contract and she told my son he looked like he would behave. Our group was much older than the traveling teams groups children. Other families in our group had the same conversations and the staff went out of their way to make sure we knew the rules. Going so far to bother a couple of boys on their computers in the lobby saying they were not allowed to be there without a parent. Again, the mom said we are not under that contract and our boys are 14. It truly was not fun being watched and scolded at every time we walked in the lobby. I have traveled for 15 years with both my sons for a sport and have never been treated this way. It is unfortunate, because teams and groups like this should feel welcomed to have fun and they bring in great revenue. The bar mind you had a crazy group in their late 20\'s that were super loud and having fun and I am sure they were not looked at like"criminals" when they ventured through the hotel. The pool was checked for the PH level on Saturday morning and shut down for the remainder of our stay.

The pool area is great.

The clock in the Pool is broken, there is a reason there are no pictures of the hot tub or pool it's because it's very small. Clean Room/bathroom. There are cool places/ shops nearby within walking distance/ train stop/ park nearby. Staff 5/10. Stay 5/10. Surrounding area 8/10.

Was disappointed the pool and hot tub was closed.

For what i was charged $>200/night the towels were threadbare, the bathroom door wouldn't close all the way, the restaurant/bar was closed and housekeeping was every other day (it's no longer covid!)

The room was spacious and extremely comfortable. Parking was included. Staff so friendly. Walkable to the quaint town of Arvada. Easy access to freeway also. The staff very friendly.

Lobby had ample seating (and it was well used) in the lobby/eating area for people to gather and socialize. We would have appreciated a low light option in the bathroom for middle of night usage. Staff was helpful and friendly.

Staff was nice. Room wasnt very clean though. The main living area wall was covered in dirt. There was hair in the sheets. Pillows were flat. The bathroom walls were disgusting. There is no fan in the bathroom so i assume thats half the issue.

We ended up leaving a day early. The room was ice cold and when we put the heat on it smelled bad and made a very loud concerning noise. Also the sink had a leak on the floor and the linens did not smell clean. It’s too bad.

The check in process was quick and easy. Within 60 seconds of being in our room, I noticed one hair on the countertop by the TV and an opened travel sized toiletry item laying on the bathroom floor. The housekeeping was suboptimal. Several more hairs were spotted on the bedding. The beds were comfortable but the pillows were much too soft for my liking. We didn’t utilize any of the hotel facilities. The room itself was spacious and modern. The room temperature was easy to control, which was essential because the room was set to AC at 67 degrees upon our arrival in February. The bathroom countertop was a bit on the tall side, making it impossible for my tall 4 year old to wash hands or brush teeth independently. The alarm in the room went off at 6am, which hadn’t been set by us, and it unfortunately was impossible to get back to sleep thereafter. The noise level was pretty quiet, which was nice. I would only recommend this hotel if I knew their housekeeping services had been stepped up a notch or two.

I am seriously disappointed in my stay. Checked in late evening, crashed and woke up to get in the shower to realize it was dirty. Corners, walls, tons of actual dirt around surfaces...pretty gross. Not to mention I only noticed the brown stain on the toilet seat in the AM after I had used it at night. 3 stars is generous based on my experience.

I requested a non-pet room due to allergies. “Not available. Pets welcome in every room”. We were placed in room that had been over- deodorized. Smelled of cigarette smoke? 2 nights later, I have a sinus infection. This is the second bad experience that I’ve had in a Hilton Garden Inn due to pet or smoking issues. Never again. In addition, fraying carpet in halls, wallpaper was bubbling from walls in bathroom, fan cover hanging from ceiling plus there was hair in the shower. Not a clean/maintained hotel.

Bed was comfortable but air conditioner was loud. Exhaust fan in my bathroom didn't work and the bathroom barn door wouldn't stay closed. I understood breakfast wasn't included but the 18.00 breakfast buffet only had 4 hot items which seemed a bit skimpy. Staff was nice

Very disappointed in the room selection they gave us as an Expedia member. The view was the top of the roof. The chair had stains. No shampoo. Only two towels. You could hear EVERYTHING in the next room. I was not able to sleep only but a few hours. It was soooo disturbing.

We liked everything about this hotel, EXCEPT FOR THE BATHROOM!!! The door to the bathroom is a barn style door, which slides side to side. It DOES NOT seal. There are gaps on both sides. Also, there is a large center panel in the door that is GLASS!!!! Perhaps the designers at Hilton are not aware that, typically, bathrooms and the things that occur in bathrooms are PRIVATE in nature. I had no wish for my roommate to to be privy to anything I had going on there. Even though the staff was lovely, and the hotel beautiful, I would not return because of this feature. As an added “bonus”, when you use the bathroom in the middle of the night, the light shines through the glass panel, this awaking your roommate. Stupid design.

Excellent location—extremely friendly and attentive staff—room was great. The only problem was they have a barn style bathroom door that doesn’t offer total privacy and makes too much noise. If they address that I’ll be back but I will check out other hotels in the area as well.

The bed was very uncomfortable and there were no options except feather pillows, which I cannot stand. Since I am staying there for a place to get a good night's sleep, I will not stay there again. I will stay at the Residence Inn two blocks away that has very comfortable beds, pillows, and is an equally clean and easy place to stay. And I love the breakfast there. My breakfast was not included in my rate at the Garden Inn, so I can't testify to its quality.

Staff was incredibly nice and helpful. Facility and room were nice and clean. Didn't really care for the opaque sliding bathroom door that left an open gap when fully closed. That might be fine for married couples, but when you're there with a co-worker it's a little awkward.

Waited 10 at check in for something to appear. Toilet seat detached from toilet. Was told there was no one available to repair it and no other other rooms to move us. Gentlemen at front desk said, “maybe you could fix it yourself or just use the restroom near the lobby. Arrived on Wednesday, departed on Friday, never saw room service. Breakfast was $18 extra each morning.

Horrible experience and terrible customer service. We arrive at 12pm, party of three. Booked mountain view room with two beds. We unloaded our luggage, exhausted from our airline trip and proceeded to our room. Opened the door and there was a single bed. I immediately called the front desk to let them know that this was not the room we booked/paid for.supposd to be two queen beds with mountain view. Front desk said they would call me back. We sat in room waiting, FINALLY, manager calls me back and tells me that is only room available to us and because we booked through hotel.com you get whatever they have and that the room that I booked goes for $××× and that I paid $×××. He repeatedly told me this when I explained that there was three of us and one bed was not going to work and we were exhausted. He then told me that I was wasting his time and just wanted to argue with him. OMG. He was so condicending the whole conversation and then I had to literally calm myself down. I asked him not to speak to me that way. I was just floored. I literally heard him smack the phone then silence. I again said there are three of us, we are exhausted and the reservation stated three, not sure why you would think ONE bed would work and we need SOMETHING. He finally, offered to bring a cot for third person. Around15 min. later desk calls back and a lady says we have a room for you two queens with mountain view. The managernwas extremely rude, condicending and belittling Almost 1am now.

Nice hotel. clean . Asked for extra towels @ 12noon , i had to go get them myself @ 11pm. other than that i had a pleasant stay !

Very nice stay! I haven't got one complaint. All the staff was friendly and actually smiled every day, no matter what shift they were working.

Staff has been wonderful… The room was great at first glance… But the fan on the air conditioner would not turn off, and the bathroom sink is clogged and drains very very slowly… Just FYI. Didn’t affect my stay, but it’s worth noting.

I cannot express how wonderful my stay was. The place was quiet, clean, and convenient to most everything I needed. The staff were super friendly and helpful. I left a book in my room and when I called, they found it and got it mailed to me immediately. Definitely recommend this hotel!

Great location if you want to enjoy downtown Arvada. 5 minute walk at the most and you are there. Same with the rail station. Well appointed hotel. We were very happy with our stay.

We love staying at this location in Arvada. It’s so close to old Arvada with nice shops, restaurants and coffee shops. Red Rocks about 20 min. Downtown about 20 minutes.

Stayed here before and all the positives lead us back again. The Arvada old town restaurants up the hill are a big plus. Hotel is convenient to main streets and highways.

Very comfortable bedding. Great access to Old Town Arvada, as well as surrounding areas. Hotel food options were a bit pricey, but there were lots of walkable options nearby.

Everything was great, 4 day stay. Do keep in mind breakfast is 18 per person and is simular to what you might get for free at other hotels.

Continental Breakfast was $10 for bread or bagel. $16 for a buffet, that is free in many other places, was very expensive for average to low quality food.

Hotel was clean and rooms were nice but no breakfast included was a little ridiculous for the cost of the room. Wouldn’t have booked there is we knew that. They even had a continental breakfast available but it was not included and had to be paid for on top of the room. Not worth it.

Nice hotel, great surrounding area. About 3 blocks from a super cute area with restaurants and some shops. Only had a couple of issues during my stay. 1. Breakfast is a little confusing. It’s $12 for some breakfast items and $18 for other breakfast items; yet they are all located in the same buffet area. There is a sign with all the details, but it’s off to the side of the area and I completely missed it the first day. Overall, I do think the breakfast is overpriced for serving items that I get for free at other hotels. 2. Restaurant food from the bar area was good but my server had people visiting her and spent more time chatting with them than attending to her other patrons. Other than that, the rooms are nice and clean and the TV has access to Netflix, if you have an account.

Confusion about breakfast buffet costs Would like a free continental breakfast

We paid $14 for the breakfast since we needed to eat quickly and get to a volleyball tournament that morning. They didn't have anyone there to cook the breakfast, so I paid $14 for a little bit of fruit and a glass of juice! Breakfast opened at 7am and even when we left at 7:20, there was still nobody there to cook the bacon, eggs, etc. Very disappointing. If I had known it was going to be that diorganized and that they wouldn't have food ready, I wouldn't have spent the money for breakfast! We ended up having to stop at McDonalds to get a real breakfast on the way to the tournament. The hotel was beautiful, clean, had extremely comfortable beds, and the area around it was super nice. My only complaint is the overpriced breakfast that we didn't actually get to enjoy.
