Riad Fes Maya suite & spa

A unique Riad, almost 750 years old. Beautiful craftsmanship and close to the Medina. Service was like we were family and accommodated every wish. Breakfast was nice in the glass enclosed terrace on the roof. Would stay again for sure! K.

Wara and Hamid are courteous and attentive. We had breakfast/dinner on the rooftop which was tasty/freshly made.The interior of the Riad and the room (has a high ceiling) have 14th century decour. Bathroom is spacious and clean Also, this Riad is located in the outskirts of the Medina so it is easy access with cars, minivans etc.

Overall stay was ok, property is nice. Location is nice in the middle of Medina so walkable distance to everything. Six of us used Hamman , really would not recommend this part at all ! You spend $85 service person worth $10 no more ! Use any local hamman instead . First of all 3 person gets only 2 person to wash you, so you dont even get one on one experience! Second staff is not professional, and not really sure what they are doing ! Girls kept on chatting, laughing and kept on leaving room . From 60 minutes you only got 10 minutes maximum per person. Third promised black sea salt mask, creams are not existing! They even used Dove shampoo to wash you :))) So for conclusion stay at Riad is nice, services offered needs really to be worked on ! 3 families of 12 ppl , December 2023

A beautiful and luxurious riad with lovely views from the rooftop terrace where the delicious breakfast is served. Large comfortable bed and huge room. The only negative for some visitors may be the location, which is a 20 minute walk through the medina from the area on the west side of the medina where most of the restaurants and shopping are located. This riad is located in a mostly residential area with few restaurants and no shopping.

Stunning Riad super convenient location and the staff make every effort to help the guests. The dinner was an absolute surprise in the best way possible, and it's a must do.on the stunning rooftop with amazing views of the surrounding areas. They also included a 1 hour tour with a very knowledgeable guide who took us around the medina (it's a crazy maze) and showered us a great spot for lunch. Highly recommend and I hope to come back to this place in the future.

The hotel is beautiful and the princess suite that I booked was beautiful. It took a long time to check in and they tried to put my friend and I (separate reservations) in the same room. They fixed it but it took more time so we didn't get the break we wanted before we started our Medina tour. The spa was wonderful.

Great Riad! The riad was beautiful! We had one night there. The customer service was beyond exceptional! We had to leave early in the morning to catch a tour and the staff provided us with a terrific bagged breakfast with traditional Moroccan food to take with us as breakfast at the riad didn’t start until later. They also provided us with a wonderful coffee presentation to enjoy on the rooftop patio before we left for our tour that morning. Great view of Fes from the rooftop. We had dinner at the riad on the rooftop restaurant as well the night we arrived. The food was fabulous! It was the best food we had while in Morocco! Very flavourful Moroccan food. The room was clean and gave a truly Moroccan vibe. I would recommend this riad!

The whole riad was absolutely stunning, including the room. From the moment we arrived and entered, the staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful, and we felt we had entered a palace. I loved the rooftop terrace for breakfast and dinner. The food was the best we had in Morocco so I definitely recommend eating at the riad. The location was convenient, easy walking distance to the medina and sites but located just outside so it was quiet and easily accessible by taxi. Thank you for making our stay so special!

DO NOT COME HERE! From the outside the hotel looks absolutely beautiful. My partner and I arrived so excited to start our trip in Fes. The woman working the reception was sweet but right after she helped us she spent the day yelling at staff. The breakfast and dinner everyday was absolutely terrible. Bread was stale. Orange juice was from the box and advertised as fresh. Mint tea was from a Lipton tea bag. Our first night there we thought it would be nice to have a traditional Hammam experience. This turned out to be an absolutely disgusting and torturous experience. The Riad says that only natural products would be used. But there were only store bought shampoos and soaps. The staff was severely under trained and the pillows they gave for us to lay on in the hammam had mold on them. The entire place smelled like body odor. The next day we asked to have a guide show us around the Medina. The receptionist woman told us that he would be from the ministry of Tourism. He took us to a rug shop where we were pressured for 2 hours to buy rugs which we later found out is a known scam here in Fez. We were then brought to a pharmacy with similar deceptive practices. After reviewing our statement we were charged $2,000 for about $100 dollars worth of skincare. He seemed to bring us to all of the local scam artists and seemed to be working with the Riad from the looks of their interactions before and after the tour. BE AWARE. DO NOT COME

Very spacious room and very authentic Moroccan style. Good air-conditioning in room. Hot water and strong pressure in bathroom. This is important especially after a day walk in the souks. Staff are all very nice and helpful. We need to check out early morning, they are kind to prepare packed breakfast for us and help us to get a taxi. Strongly recommend this Riad to my friends. The only drawback is the bathtub as it’s a bit high (there are two wooden steps aside) and in plastic material.

A beautiful, historic hotel that is extremely clean, we loved the decor which was grand and palatial. The Hotel staff; Khadija, Hamid and Ayman (think that was their names) were so friendly, welcoming and made our stay memorable- thank you! The hotel is close to the Medina and numerous places to eat. Overall the perfect place to stay in Fes.

This place is out of this world. It used to be a palace & it has been restored with the best craftmanship I've ever seen. It feels like staying in a museum. It is Absolutely spotless, and the staff are amazing. My partner hurt his knee while traveling to the hotel and Hamid and the other staff couldn't have done enough to help. They went out of their way to make us feel comfortable & everyone including the cleaners asked about our wellbeing each day-FANTASTIC! Can't believe places like this exist.

We had an amazing stay at the Riad. It was a beautiful place that had been carefully restored and maintained. The caretakers take extra care to maintain it’s beauty. The manager Salma made sure that we stayed comfortable throughout the stay. The food was amazing as well. Would definitely recommend to friends and family.

Walls are paper thin, i heard people from the kitchen talking till 1am. The towels are old and worn down. The flowers and plants through out the property are dying or dead. The courtyard was spectacular, the room was Arabian posh, carving and stained glass. Super comfy bed and an excellent roof top restaurant on site. Staff was exceptionally helpful in arranging every detail for transfers and tours. Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful stay at Riad Fes Maya. The place is an absolutely gorgeous 14 Century palace that was restored with real attention to detail. It is like a museum yet cozy. But the BEST part of all is the staff. Starting with Samae who never stop to make your stay even more pleasant and Hamid and Ayman ready to help you with every single need you may have with a big smile. They all make you feel at home. I totally recommend staying at Fes Maya.

The staff of Riad Fes Maya pressured us into a so-called “complimentary private tour” that turned out to be a shopping scam. We later confirmed that personal details we had shared with the hotel were passed on to the “guide,” which was deeply unsettling. On one occasion, we also returned to find our room door left unlocked. These serious breaches of trust left us feeling unsafe throughout our stay. The riad itself is beautiful, and the food was good. But until they stop partnering with dishonest guides and prioritize guest security, I cannot recommend staying here.

5 stars through and through. The best service from Sama and Hamid made us welcome right from the beginning to the end of our stay. The hotel itself is amazing and beautiful. Highly recommend staying here if you are visiting Fes..

Fes Maya Riad has beautiful architecture and the service is top notch. From the delicious breakfast spread to delightfull Tagine dinners served on the rooftop with a relaxing views of sunset and the beautiful city views, it has it all and more. The people that work at the Riad, from the manager lady to the bell boys are very personal and professional in their approach. The Manager made it so seamless in arranging us transportation, personal guided tours, hammams and any and every one of our personal needs. we will definitely be staying there the next time we visit Fes

You get a pleasant surprise when you first enter the riad from the narrow street and corridor. It opens up into a beautiful foyer area. Our room was also a lovely historic room with an impressive painted ceiling. The room had everything we needed and we slept very well. Breakfast was good and served on the rooftop in a nice room with large windows. The service was generally very good although they did appear to be short staffed. The receptionist kept answering by phone while trying to check us in at the same time. We also found the front door locked and were unable to leave as a receptionist wasn’t at the desk. The walk to the centre of the medina take about 20 minutes and you will come across locals telling you certain routes are “closed” trying to get you to pay them money to show you the way. Trust your phone GPS. The hotel is near a road accessible by cars which is convenient for drop off and pick up. No need to drag cases through the narrow streets.

Service and staff were excellent. I requests for a guide instead got a driver that was arranged through the hotel. He demanded for money then what I negotiated with the hotel. I found that was a complete waste of money.

The help we received from our host Sama was outstanding. She worked hard to meet all of our requests and needs. She did an excellent job! Hamid - our daily waiter/bellman - was always on top of things and helpful. We couldn’t have asked for more. Sama set up a day guide - Abdul - that was masterful and informative. Sama also set up a driver - Ibrahim - that was outstanding and kept us safe on a 7 hour day trip drive.

Beautiful building, great staff, close to the main areas of the medina

Property was excellent but a sign at the corner of the lane. We fluked finding it because we met a fellow at end of lane and he said we were in the right spot. We would never have found it !

Le Riad est magnifique et très bien tenu et de grand confort. Le personnel est charmant. Notre regret est d’avoir décidé de réveillonner au Riad. Ce fut notre pire réveillon, avec un repas loin de celui annoncé lors de nos échanges par mail. Débutant en théorie à 20 h30 ,nous avons eu notre premier plat à 10h15. Le plat chaud est arrivé pratiquement froid ,le Riad était insuffisamment chauffé. Une expérience à éviter

Couldn't have loved our stay more. The riad is so beautiful, it's like sleeping in a museum. Everything is so well maintained. The staff is wonderful and accommodating. We had all our meals there and loved the quality and relaxing environment.

We spent 6 days during late march 2024 in this beautiful Riad,it is amazing just keeping watching the tasteful decoration everywhere.The suite was ample and well appointed.The breakfast set served everyday was basic but adequate.The food at the restaurant is good but service tended to be slow due to the fact that are only very few people working at the whole property because we never saw more than 3 or 4 multitasking people doing everything and the kitchen is far from the rooftop restaurant.The location is very good just next to one of the best entrances to the Medina.The staff members were very nice and helpful despite they were overworked.

Loved the room decor and the ambience of this 14th century palace. The staff were very attentive and helpful. Truly a beautiful stay. Only con was the food options for breakfast were mediocre.
