Surprisingly quiet considering its proximity to Northbourne Ave. Underground parking was also available. Limited area to park while checking in - I had to park just around the corner but it was only 100 metres.

We stayed here because the Expedia information said EV charging was available. Charging has been broken for months which was a disappointment. A private feel in that you do not pass reception on entry and exit. Does not have its own carpark. Parking is awkward and problematic. Moving a car after 2 hours gives a homelessness feel. Making here possibly suitable for the carless, short stay, business person only.

It was convenient for what i needed. However, apart from that I wasn't thrilled. My sheets had holes in them, there was no utensils at all, only a icy pole stick for the coffee. I had to buy cutlery at the supermarket. The carpet was stained and there was hair in the drain. Overall, I probably wouldn't stay again.

The room was dusty, the cleaners cgange sheets and towels and a quick clean only. There was no restaurant available and that was not clear on the website. No direction from the staff as to where i could go for breakfast. There was no drinking water in the room and the images of the amenities, including snacks, didn't match the actual room. The hotel is lifeless, the staff included. Really disappointed.

The property was dirty, the floor of the lobby was littered with dead christmas beetles, and wasn’t cleaned regularly at all (the same dead bugs were there for over 24 hours, multiple times) The shower was stained, and the shampoo, body wash, and condition were empty. The provided spoon and mugs for coffee and tea were not cleaned properly, the spoon had visible water / dirt marks, and the mugs had lines inside of them as if they were already used. Outside of this, the property was located close to the light rail thus giving easy access to the cbd.

Disappointing Stay — Needs Improvement I was quite let down by my recent stay at this hotel. While the location was convenient, the cleanliness of the room left much to be desired. The bathroom had visible mold, and the shampoo and conditioner bottles were already emptied when we arrived — which felt careless and unhygienic. One of the biggest surprises was discovering that room service came with an extra fee, which wasn’t clearly stated in the reservation. Coming back at night to find the bed unmade and the room untouched was frustrating, especially since we assumed basic housekeeping was included. Overall, the experience didn’t meet expectations, and I hope the hotel takes steps to improve both its cleanliness standards and communication around services.

Hotel was modern, staff friendly and helpful, and rooms were clean. However, when plugging my charger cord into the wall behind the bedside table I saw a dirty tissue on the floor behind the bedside table. Not a big deal, but obviously cleaners are not looking behind there. Otherwise, can't fault the cleanliness.

The receptionist rushed through information at check-on so fast I could hardly understand her. The breakfast was not worth $ 23 - one particular problem was that there was only one toaster and it took a long time just to half heat - not properly toast - the bread.

The property was in a convenient location, close to Gio Stadium, which is where we wanted to go. There was also a tram on the corner for travel into the city. The receptionist was lovely but the communication about parking was not issued clearly. Even though there was signage in the lift, this used jargon that was not clearly understandable. If car park was full we were told to park in the street for free. Driving around in the cold & dark trying to find parking was horrible. We could see lots of No Parking signs so therefore didn't park there. Upon reading signs in the daylight we could see that we could have parked there overnight & weekends. This should have been communicated to us. We were asked if we would like our room serviced the next morning to which i said yes. When returning from our day out we found fresh towels but used towels left behind, an unmade bed, our trash bag emptied but left sitting on the counter and our used glasses just put on the tea & coffee tray. Very disappointed with this service!

This was my first stay at the Mantra MacArthur. It was great value for money, walking distance to Ainslie and Braddon, and next to a light rail station to access the city. My only quibble is that there was no table for setting up a laptop for those who need to. I'll stay here again.

No fuss, booking is quick and painless. Friendly staff. The only downside is that the restaurant closed for renovation during my stay. Would have been nice to know to have the choice to book elsewhere for the convenience of having a restaurant and bar at the staying location. However, the two-day stopover was very comfortable would stay again when in the neighborhood.

It was clean, quite and safe Dinning options were not available nor was the bar. Afternoon safe didn’t give me a chance to ask why. Apparently will be open in a week or so It was quite inconvenient being a woman travelling on my own I had to walk 1.5km to nearest restaurant Taxi back as I didn’t want to risk walking on my own in the dark. Morning staff was much more helpful

This is not a posh hotel but served our purpose at a high level. We wanted a brief overnight stay in a comfortable bed, with a decent shower and enough towels. Mantra provided all of this. I like a shower cap, and soap rather than wall dispensers and Mantra does not have these. I also like a USB port near the bed, and this was a missing feature. However, the service was friendly, there was a buffet breakfast available, and my main requirements were met - comfortable bed, good shower and enough towels. Added to this, it is right on a near a tram stop, and two coffee shops, and a reasonable walk into the city, or to a small shopping area with a pharmacy, more coffee and breakfast options, a very good convenience store, and bar. The location makes this a good place to stay, and the room size is good enough to make that stay a longer one than the one I enjoyed.

The room I had, had a wonderful view to the south - the bed was excellent & I particularly liked the desk that went across the whole window. The room was functional & right sized. The only two issues I had were a very limited number of TV channels (& no ability to access ABC local radio) & that the fridge froze everything.

For the price, everything was very basic. Nothing extra in the rooms. The parking was misleading. I chose this property because it advertised free parking and when we got there it turned out to be free parking on the street with a convoluted description of which streets were recommended but some were only at certain times of the day and the one that was free all day was miles away. We had no choice but to park in the public carpark nextdoor. Despite a discount, it still cost us $40 for the first night and $25 for subsequent nights. It was a complicated system that honestly confused me and the staff weren't very good at explaining it. The restaurant in the hotel was closed on our first night which was a Saturday. No warning or notice, only found out when we went down to eat. Ended up eating at the Atrium in the Pavilion 5mins away and the service was so good, we will be staying there the next time we are in Canberra. They also have convenient parking on site and way more amenities. And it is cheaper!
