Expensive due to the demand for Cooperstown baseball but very clean and cozy. The ability to have use of a washer and dryer was amazing and very appreciated. The snacks and breakfast items were also a plus and nice to have. Even got to see deer's when sitting on the front porch lobby. We did hear the traffic from the road directly behind our room and the lighting in the room is a bit dark.

This place is a perfect little spot just off the main street in downtown! Very walkable to the downtown area but far enough away for a quiet stay. We had a wonderful time & would certainly plan on going back next time we are in Cooperstown!

What a find in Cooperstown! We loved every aspect of the Railroad Inn. The renovation of the old building a few years ago not only made this place so wonderful, it also did great justice to the building's historic nature. Every member of the family was so friendly and helpful. An easy walk to downtown Cooperstown. Snacks always available in lobby. My only suggestion: if you take a second floor room or loft, the stairs can be a little challenge. This is a superb choice for a Cooperstown stay.

We took an overnight getaway to Cooperstown & stayed at the Railroad Inn. The staff was friendly & pleasant and the hotel was perfect for our trip. Close to town (walkable), great outside area to relax in, and a front porch! Would definitely recommend!

Great place to stay , no elevator for the second floor, but we knew that going in.. Large room and comfy bed. Would most definitely stay here again.

There are no food options close by but there are some restaurants about a 10 minute walk. Parking is free but it is a gravel lot. The room and bathroom were clean but average. Surprisingly we had no closet but an odd contraption made of metal pipes and 4x4 timbers, with a couple of hangers. Complimentary breakfast was prepackaged pastries, coffee, juice and water. This hotel was an average hotel with a boutique hotel price tag. It was a decent stay but not for the price.

Safe and quiet neighborhood, good off-street parking. Nice porch and seating area outside for morning coffee. Snack/Breakfast bar was open 24/7. Staff was friendly and helpful

Clean rooms, friendly and very helpful staff, free to use washer and dryer, coffee/snacks on tap 24/7, less than 1 mile from the Baseball Hall of Fame, so walking distance. Will definitely stay again in the future.

Always a fan of the Railroad Inn for its location and convenience. Only issue on this trip was a crew painting and refurbishing the exterior, which meant scraping old paint and other noises outside the room at 8 a.m.

The Inn enhanced our Cooperstown experience. Our room was clean, comfortable and historical, and staff was friendly and helpful. We could easily walk to the Baseball Hall of Fame, restaurants and shops. Breakfast was a simple, yet sufficient 24 hour offering of fruit, packaged snacks, bagels, juice and hot beverages. The porch and grounds are beautiful and offer a fire pit, outside seating areas and tables - unfortunately we went in fall and it was too cool for us to enjoy being outside long.

Room was not ready at check in Carpet was not clean Light bulb was out and not changed after asking Same dust and debris on stairs for 4 days Food was like vending machine Staff was not helpful This is Motel 6 service and amenity at Ritz prices.

There was a musty smell upon entering and 2 different hairs were found in the bathroom.

The room and the inn is lovely but the room carpet needs a deep clean. My feet were filthy from walking around barefoot in the room. Everything else was AMAZING!

We liked this place. The price was right, the room and bathroom were very nice. Staff was friendly. Breakfast was OK (coffee, bagel, donuts, cereal, etc.). There were snacks in the lobby we were told we could take. The only (minor) complaint was a smell in the lobby, which was fairly pungent. But, we got over it. It wasn't too far from town and the HOF either, a short 5 minute walk. I'd stay there again.

The room was very clean as well as the bathroom. The hotel itself smells nice and clean. We’ve stayed there several times and have never been disappointed.

Overall it was nice, and the staff was pleasant, but the cleaners did not clean my room for as long as I stayed there.

The rooms are always spotless and smell nice. The staff is very friendly. And the location is fantastic. I would highly recommend this location.

The room was clean and young lady at the front desk was very nice. For the most part our stay was fine. We stayed three nights. The first night, the mini split in our room was not working correctly and our room was hot. We could not turn on the air and we did not get much sleep. I put in a comment via Expedia in the middle of the night and as soon as the front desk staff arrived for the morning, they saw the comment and correct the issue. It seems as if it’s controlled by the front desk but once we mentioned it, it wasn’t a problem again. Our last night was a little frustrating. Their quiet hours are posted and communicated during check in. 10pm is when it needs to be quiet. We had a wedding room party two doors down screaming, yelling, playing music super loud etc. In an effort to get in front of the issue, I mentioned to the front desk girl that they were a problem and their behavior was disrespectful to other guests. She said “Oh, yeah, they are a wedding party and quiet time isn’t until 10-10:30” And I said “Well, quiet time is posted in your literature and it’s 10”. She mentioned she would tell them to keep it down. At 10:30….they were still being very loud and disruptive to the other guests in the hotel. I went down again and the young girl said “she called someone to take care of it”. I don’t think she was set up for success in dealing with disruptive guests and had to call in reinforcements. Long story, but yes, the issues that we had were ultimately resolved.

This is a cute property right on the edge of town. The rooms are very small but are well done and have everything you need.

Our room was spacious enough to accommodate three adults as there was an upstairs loft. The space was wonderful except that it was a bit dark. Only one window for the bedroom and common space. Otherwise, very nice.

The location was excellent. Walking distance to Main Street. The heat pump was on the roof above our room and kept us up all night The room was warm and stuffy.

I loved the Railroad Inn! It was beautifully decorated for Christmas! The walls were “thin” because you could hear everyone walking down the hallway and opening and closing of doors, And the street traffic outside was a little noisy. The bed was comfortable, but the pillows were too big, my head felt like it was way up high, just too firm, couldn’t get comfortable. Everything was very clean and well appointed.

The rooms were nice, good sized, and clean. The only downside for this hotel is that the walls were paper thin and you could hear everything going on the room next to you or in the hall.

Lights in the room were not bright enough...need brighter bulbs

Awesome Inn! Highly recommend. Very clean, easy check-in, room was so spacious with 2 full baths. Great for families.

AC in the room didn't work properly, was unbearably hot all night and we couldn't sleep. They have coffee and tea but no sugar for the coffee.

I found this property last Fall when I was in town on short notice. Being a small businessman myself, I always try and support non franchise hotels when possible. The Railroad Inn looked good on Expedia so I took the chance. I loved it! Super accommodating staff when I needed late check in, and a clean room with a comfortable bed. When we decided to do a weekend in Cooperstown with friends, I remembered this place and brought it up. We stayed two nights and everyone loved it. The suite with the circular staircase was super cool. The staff AGAIN went over the top to accommodate our needs and everyone remarked how comfortable their beds were and how nice the rooms were. BRAVO Railroad Inn! I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Cooperstwon.

When we arrived about an hour before check in we asked if we could check in and we were simply told none of the rooms were ready. We asked if there was an early check in option and it was a no. Not a “let me see if your room is ready and maybe we can accommodate.” It was just “no.” The pillows were cheap. The kind of pillows that quickly go from semi comfortable to flat. The sheets were completely unbreathable so you’d go from cold to sweating in a few minutes. Room service never cleaned our room. We were there for 3 nights. Trash was never taken out, towels never replaced, bed never made. The TV only had cable. Separate from this, it was a really cute hotel. Staff was quite friendly separate from the check in experience. It was nice to have some simple free food in the lobby. The outside seating area and lawn were great! And the sandwich shop across the street was amazing.

Staff was very accommodating when asked for extra items in the room, such as hangers. Lite breakfast was good. Rooms were well furnished and excellent Wi-Fi.

Very nice upgraded room with a fridge, bedding was comfy and the bathroom was really cool. Staff was friendly too. I'd definitely recommend it if you want a special night together

There is no staff on site from 10pm to 7am. This was a problem when the group down the hsll decided to have a party. It’s a shame because it is a nice place but for the money you would think they could staff the overnight.

It's a very small operation, which is fine, but I don't think this is an excuse for not having someone at the front desk for check in during the day. I arrived at 2:20 to check in. There was a note at the desk stating that no one would be there until 2:30. I didn't mind waiting, but no one arrived until 2:55. That's just too long.

The receptionist was extremely helpful and kind. The room is exceptionally clean. I would stay again.

Delays at check-in due to front desk personnel being elsewhere in and about property, had to leave, come back an hour later, and then wait another ten minutes to be welcomed. Only room criticism is shower floor is smooth, and a slip hazard when wet; could have used some texture on it.

Geat location. Just a 10 min walk to the downtown area. Clean rooms and nice decor. We loved the 24hr access to snacks and tea/coffee in the lobby.

Excellent location for MLB HOF and shops. Easy check in and check out. Very nice room. Always stay here when in Cooperstown.

Great location

The hotel is in a great condition, walking distance from downtown Cooperstown. The rooms are nice, clean and the staff was very friendly. The walls are a bit thin and you could certainly hear the activity in the adjacent or above room, but not terrible at all. Self-serve breakfast and all day snacks is also a super nice touch. Would definitely stay here again.

Centrally located and yet quiet.

Over rated because the room was next to the front desk and nosy. Little parking downtown so you had to walk from hotel to Main Street. Over a mile.

The hotel was very comfortable and quiet. It was a quick and easy walk to the main street shops restaurants and the hall of fame.

Nice quite place to stay but a bit far from the Hall of Fame. We had great weather but if it rained the walk would have been problematic.

I almost bottomed out exiting the property due to the grade of the driveway being way off. The phone in the room was ripped out of the wall. The front desk woman had a child with her and it wasn’t professional. The breakfast was very bare bones and prepackaged. Not near restaurants.

Quaint hotel within walking distance to lots of restaurants and shops as well as the hall of fame museum. The 24 hour complimentary snack bar is convenient and has a surprising number of options. The property is adorable and clean.

I was very surprised that for the money per night, there was no hot breakfast being served. Only things that I could make at home. The Inn itself was very nice inside. I enjoyed the railroad pictures.

Ridiculously expensive. They include breakfast which is packaged stuff… Very classy place, beautifully decorated, but simple room. Very easy access to Main Street, Double Day and Hall of Fame by walking.

The hotel was very comfortable and within walking distance of the Hall of Fame. The service was fantastic, and there's even a 24-hour snack bar with things like coffee, snacks, and bagels. We'll definitely stay again if we come this way.

Hotel was very nice. Decor was unique and adorable. Our room was smaller but nice. Hotel itself was very clean. Staff was friendly. Breakfast was only cereal and bagels. But complimentary snack and drinks were nice. Location was perfect, walking distance to hall of fame and shops. Only major negative… the bed was super uncomfortable and made too much noise when you moved.

Friendly staff, Continental breakfast with good coffee and nice pastry selections, and small clean dining area. Square clean room, old fashion style lamps, comfortable bed, TV, very clean bathroom with walk in shower, fluffy comfortable large bath towels. It’s a very short walk into town but far enough to be outside of the crowds. Plenty of restaurants, ice cream shops, and a delicious bakery and typical souvenir shops within the immediate area. Cooperstown is very clean with alot of history. A short drive away is the Fenimore Art Museum which is very good.
