Pools were nice. We had an ant problem in our room.

Bed and bathroom were clean but doesn’t look like it was updated since 70s. Pool area was terrible.

The indoor and outdoor pools were very pleasant and enjoyed the spa.

We loved the staff! They were amazing! The atmosphere was very homely. Our room was so hot, and we had one towel in our room (thebdesk was graat about more). Our bathtub was dirty with the previous persons hair-- major disgust on that note. There was not gym which was a super bummer but my fault for not checking. The pool area is horrible-it was peeling up horrribly and frankly just not clean-I passed on using the hot tub due to this. It definately needs some updates and we will likely try another stay for our next adventure!

Nice staff and great location. Pool had wet towels all over, left overnight. Deck needs major work, as wood is warped and splintering, nails coming up.

Great location for Holiday World. Watched light display and fireworks from some picnic tables in the back. Nice indoor and outdoor and pools. Good breakfast buffett to get the day started. Hottub. 😎 Stayed last year, and this year. Will next year too.

The cons: The property needs updating. The pool had paint coming off of the edges, the beds were not ver comfortable, and the staff could not give us extra pillows upon request because they were “out of pillows”. The pillows we did have were not fluffy - they were flat pillows. The floors were creaky and aesthetic could be updated. Also, this has nothing to do with the hotel, but if you’re looking for dining and extracurricular activities, don’t get your hopes up. There is NOTHING in the area. Just FYI. The pros: The Christmas decorations were cute, the staff was friendly, the free continental breakfast every morning was convenient, the closeness to Holiday World is perfect, and they had a cute little gift shop. The indoor pool and hot tub along with the outdoor pool was very nice.

Pool and Hot tub os older and had alot of skin floating in hot tub...but was very busy. The hallways and hotel had an old smell like an old building. However, everyone was super nice and helpful. The room was clean but just out dated and old smelling.

Check-in was easy and friendly for the price of the family suite I was quite disappointed in the lack of comfort and that there wasn’t even a smart TV. The walls were also very thin and we could hear everything going on in the other rooms.

The building is dated, the hot tub was broken the beds were horrible. It is close to the park. The other people were just rude they actually made fun of my handicap son and my daughter was mad. The staff were nice the breakfast was horrible. The outside pool needs work. And check in was a nightmare. The place needs work .

Close to holiday world, amazing water pressure, friendly staff. I would just recommend checking to make sure you're sheets are clean and not damaged or stained

Very nice quite town but still close to walmart other stores etc. The staff was very friendly. Rooms was clean and supplied. Their is a restaurant within walking distance from the hotel. They have a big pond that you can fish as long as you catch and release.

The room was clean and comfortable. Santa’s Lodge is a simple but adequate hotel with a cute theme.

The property is definitely old. They need new pillows. I thought we were supposed to have a refrigerator and microwave but we didn't. We also saw a mouse in the room. The only good thing is it close to area attractions.

Room wasn’t clean had empty beer bottles left in it when ask to remove them they picked them up and dropped them in the trash can in my room and left them there main tv would not turn on toilet would not turn off open green fridge to have green shelves fall out on the floor so glad we were only staying one night going back in green fall Will not be staying there

Upon check-in, we quickly realized this lodge was not a good value for the price purchased. We entered the room and looked around to gauge cleanliness we quickly spotted the sheets on one of the beds was very dirty. It was not just a stain. It was crusty. We had booked through Expedia. The representatives from Expedia tried to speaking to the front desk on our behalf however, the manager at Santa’s Lodge refused a refund. We quickly left and never looked back. It was worth losing our $350 because we were not comfortable sleeping there. So not only was it gross they also refused the refund. I would give it an overall zero stars if I could.

I would say that the reviews on Expedia for this place were totally misleading. I was expecting cabin/rustic, but clean based on the reviews. The people working there are nice and welcoming, but our room left a lot to be desired. I understand the rustic look they are going for, but the bathroom tub, toilet and sink were dirty. Bathroom was soiled, tub had hair in it. Sink had brown stains from makeup, someone’s hair sticking on the hair dryer. Also, there was some sort of chemical rubber like smell coming from the bathroom that was unbearable. They charge big city prices - we paid over $600 for two nights. The idea of the lodge is pretty nice, but this place is just not maintained or cleaned well. We will try another place next time we visit Holiday World.

Our rooms were not clean

While I understood that we weren't going to a major tourist attraction like Disney World or the Gulf Coast in Florida, I still thought maybe this place would have been updated in the last 20 years or so?? We took our 2 young grandsons to Holiday World for 2 days which required a 2-night stay, and we thought staying close to the park would be best as our grandsons are little. The beds were very uncomfortable, the pillows (2/bed) were only big enough for a 3-year-old, the room smelled musty and old, the carpet felt gross to walk on barefooted, the shower head felt like it removed 3 layers of skin with each shower, walls and ceiling were so thin you could hear every movement from other occupants.... While I can appreciate the nostalgia of the decor of the lobby, I don't understand why the rooms haven't been somewhat updated at all. We definitely won't be staying there again.

Hotel seems old. It is just a hotel, does not seem like a resort. Booked "deluxe" room, but I can't imagine how it was different from the standard room other than it was $13 more. We were on the floor where many holiday world employees live. Bedding was thrown out in the hallways the whole time we were there. Just didn't seem to match the price we paid. Breakfast buffet was mediocre.

It was close to Holiday World which made it convenient. However, it was disappointing that we had one soap for the sink, that we had to share in the shower. No lid for the toilet set close to the tub was awkward. We booked a room for 3, 2 children and 1 adult, yet only 2 bath towels were provided. The smart TV was a challenge. We couldnt get it to connect initially. We spoke with the front desk who tried to help, but basically told us the wifi wasnt good in this town. We did eventually figure out how to connect to wifi...overall, it was an average experience.

I liked the Christmas theme but it was not made clear that in order to get a microwave and refrigerator you had to do the deluxe. We had to move to another room. It was a little outdated and the shower was only warm and very hot.

It was fine for the night and exactly what we needed. No frills. But it's clean. It's dated, the beds are on the hard side and the towels were pretty thin. But we were there for one night after a concert in Louisville and before going to Holiday World. Breakfast was just waffles, yogurt, maybe there was some cereal and some bread/muffins. It was a carb paradise. A little humorous considering there was a run/walk for juvenile diabetes happening at HW and several "teams" were staying there and wearing there team awareness shirts. I didn't like that the milk was just in a jug in the small fridge and kids kept getting it out to use. There was a regular lack of coffee and the carafe had to be refilled often by the attendant who was also writing the front desk. She was very nice. But she was having to literally make a pot... Just like I would say home... And pour it into the carafe. It would be give before she could even get another started brewing. They need some upgrades and updates for sure. The decor in the main area where breakfast and check in is located is decorated cute and Christmasy And then a few things here and there around the property including some large Santa's but the rooms have nothing. At least ours didn't.

Staff was friendly and accommodating. The hotel lobby had a cozy feel but the rooms were pretty bare bones. It was an ok stay, breakfast and room amenities would be what you would expect from a motel. Low rating for a few reasons: Mainly due to the quality of sleep. Chip bags have more filling than the pillows provided, the staff did give us extra pillows which was great but needed like 3 to feel like one normal pillow. The bed was old and firm, the topper they had on the bed helped a little but was tossing all night and felt achy in the morning. Definitely not a restful sleep. Nothing against the hotel but if you are a light sleeper bring earplugs. Parents will let their spawn run down the halls screaming and play with the room phones and call your room. I travel A LOT. Never in my life have i had my room phone called. This happened every night and morning we stayed. The phone in the room is also ancient so the ringer is loud as hell. Scared us out of sleep the first night it happened. Hotel is also either dusty or musty, both me and my partner have allergies and they were acting up our entire stay. Overall the lodge needs some massive updates to justify the cost of the stay.

Not what I expected from a higher priced “resort”. The bathroom was tiny it had very little space between the toilet and the wall. The bathtub was very close to the toilet. Toilet did not have a lid and towels were on a rack above toilet. The small hook on the back of the door was the only other place to put your things in the bathroom. The sink was outside with an unframed mirror and circle lighting on a gold bar. The room was darker as we kept our blind closed because we were eye level with the parking lot. Room smelled a little musty. We walked around the property and noticed a door on the back side did not lock. The restaurant and zip line were closed. Local restaurants closed very early and we drove back to the interstate to find a place that was open. We only stayed one night so it wasn’t that big of a deal but I wouldn’t recommend for a full vacation. Not terrible but definitely overpriced for the quality of the room we received. If you book through Expedia you are required to pay a deposit at the hotel but if you book directly through the hotel you are not required to make the deposit. The deposit is mentioned on the Expedia listing.

Very basic lodging. It was very convenient for Holiday World, but there is not a mini fridge or microwave available, and the wifi is not fast enough to power any streaming services. Since it is fairly expensive to stay here, in the future, I will probably save myself the money and just drive the 15 miles from another hotel to have the basic accessories that most hotels offer for less money.

There were parties in the parking lot, people grilling out at the back of their cars because they said they spent too much money at holiday world. They had a grill loud music everything when I went to the front desk, they said they would have the manager talk with me, but the manager never appeared even the next morning when I checked out, they said the manager would call me and that never happened. The invoice I received from the hotel was $202 per night, but I was charged over $500 through Expedia. I’m not very happy I have pictures.

Rooms are clean and great customer care service.

Both my husband and myself loved our stay at Santa’s Lodge. The hospitality of the ladies working the front desk was amazing. From the moment we checked in until we checked out this morning. We will definitely tell our family and friends about this wonderful little town and all the great people .

We were taking a mini vacation and thought the Santa Lodge would be a nice place to stay. We enjoyed our stay and were pleased with how wonderful the staff was. They were very nice and helpful. Thank you, we had fun!

We always enjoy our stay in Santa's Lodge! This last visit though was probably our best yet. The check in lady was very nice and more than accommodating. Especially when we found out the air in our room wasn't working. She immediately switched our rooms no questions asked. We also spent a good conversation talking about living in the area. We're tentatively planning on moving down that way and it was nice to get more family related information. We can't wait to come back in a few weeks with friends!

This was such a great place to stay! It was clean, a short drive to Holiday World, and was exactly what we needed for our stay. We enjoyed the indoor pool and the breakfast was delicious. The vending machines being right by our room was a major plus! We will definitely plan to stay here again the next time we are in the area.

We loved our short stay at Santa's Lodge. It is older but it was very clean and the staff was friendly. We would definitely stay here again.

Wanted to go into diner opposite but didn’t arrive until 8.20 so was told too late for sit down meal. Also wanted to visit Santas workshop shop afterwards but didn’t open till 11 which seemed a bit late. Breakfast in hotel was great with lots of variety available. Was a lovely hotel just a bit of a shame that local area was not well set up for tourist trade generated by theme park

The property is dated which accounts for part of its charm, I could see this from the images before I arrived. I chose Santa’s lodge for it’s location and that it was Christmas themed.

Great lodge near Holiday World. Santa theme was extremely well done. Kids loved it.

I felt safe, drive to Holiday World was so simple

The Lodge is a lodge so it doesn't have a lot of bells and whistles....in face no microwave or refrigerator in our room. Bed was comfortable and the staff was friendly. The bathroom could use an update. The location is fantastic if you are stay a few days to do Holiday World and all the Santa Claus stuff. Wish they served lunch and dinner as the food in Santa Claus is not great.

Good drive distance to Holiday World

Staff were friendly and accommodating. Pools and hot tub were nice. Large dining area. Only one ice machine that didn’t work. No hot water for tea or hot chocolate ant breakfast. Only coffee. Although after going back up the stairs to find someone, they did get me hot water. No elevators to access lower level dining area. Only handicap access is outside. Very limited breakfast buffet. No fruit. No bacon. Hot food was eggs, sausage and biscuits/ gravy. Looked forward to frosty restaurant next door that was listed on website to find out no longer in business. Needs a good cleaning and desperate for updating all around.

My friend and I took our grandkids to Holiday World so this hotel was very convenient. We paid a little extra for early check in because it was raining so that was good. The hotel has a musty smell and our air conditioner wasn’t working properly. We turned it down to 64 and were still hot. Our remote to the tv didn’t work so we had to call for new batteries. The stay was okay but the hotel is really dated and no longer has a restaurant in it.

This is a great hotel! Yeah, it’s old but I hope they never change it! It has a great feel to it. It’s clean! Has a nice indoor and outdoor pool and hot tub. The breakfast each morning tasted great and had a huge selection! Biscuits, gravy, sausage, eggs, lots of different cereals, yogurts, muffins, waffles, etc. we’ll be back! This is a clean, convenient and comfortable hotel!

The breakfast and staff were wonderful! The facility could use a major update.

For the price I thought the experience/ ambience would be better. We did not find an elevator, so climbing stairs with luggage wasn't great. The hall was hot. The pool room was so hot I had a hard time breathing the chemical smell filled air. Because of this the outside pool was better. Breakfast was sausage gravy and biscuits, sausage patties, and scrambled eggs. There were toasters for toast, a variety of cold cereals, and mini muffins. Several of the trays on the hot bar were empty. The room was clean and spacious.

Washer/dryers in working condition and available 24 hours. The staff was courteous. The place itself is outdated. I would not say 20-30 year furniture is/feels clean. Visibly the room was clean but the old rug and furniture feel and smell stale. The breakfast was good but the large food trays were not covered and there were a few flies.
