Oakridge Motel

We have stayed here off & on for over 30 years. Apparently this place has a new owner. Weird smell/ upon opening the door. This place has the same carpet as it did over 30 years ago. Tv remote didn't work. Bath tub was dirty. Black hairs stuck to it. Soap scum ring. Shower stuck to shower spray only. Couldn't run water into tub. Didn't matter, cause I wasn't getting in that dirty thing anyway! Noticed tub had a hole in it that was patched with something. Ceiling was falling down & stained above. No heat bulb in ceiling either . Toilet or tub must have over flowed in upstairs room. Shorting out the heat lamp...?? Night stand phone did not work. Guess it was just for looks. It was also dusty & dirty. No bulb in one lamp above night stand. In order to turn on/ off lamp...ya had to get up & down using the light switch next to door. Someone super glue the switches on lamps?? The two cloth chairs in there were nasty & stained. No luggage rack. No coffee pot. Had microwave. Never used it. Mabe it was just for looks too. Fridge froze all our water & pop & milk we bought within a few hours. Husband turned it down. It still froze the new water & pop we replaced. Glad we had our cooler in the truck. I sat outside in the morning & watched kids getting on the school bus from this motel... So there ARE people living here full time!! There were cigarette butts all over the ground. Weeds growing everywhere. Restaurant next door is closed. WE WILL NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN!! NASTY!! GOODBYE!

Room was decent except black mold on bathroom ceiling tiles and light fixture too small for hole and NO HOT WATER because boiler needed part they had to order I was told

Clean room. stayed two nights. Safe and well lit. Close to fast food, gas, downtown and inexpensive stay to ride The Dragon.

Overall the room was fine but there was a loud banging noise all night long. It sounded like someone put a pair of shoes in a dryer by themselves. I'm sure that wasn't it but that's the sound it made. The manager spoke terrible English and there was no one else to talk to. It sounded like it was a 3rd or 4th language, not a second language. He also tried to communicate through a ring doorbell which made him more difficult to understand. So communication was a problem.

I went into the visit knowing it would be a situation where I get what I pay for, but I at least expected the place to be slightly clean. There was red stains everywhere, including the white sheets, tub, fridge a.s curtains. The floor was dirty and I found a black sock near the bed that wasnt mine, along with dirty plastic cups that I didnt bring with me. There were pieces of rusty metal in the shower along with a bunch of dirt. I ended up showering with a towel down on the base of the shower to protect my feet. The building itself was okay, the ac worked great and despite my small fears due to the lack of extra lock of the door, I was able to sleep enough to get through my week the way I needed. I didn't necessarily feel safe but it worked. The room numbers were spray painted on the walls, giving an interesting vibe to the white painted brick walls everywhere. The wifi exists, but doesnt work sadly. My phone was dying most of the time due to it. I wouldn't recommend it for someone who wants to feel super safe, but if you're looking for cheap and you're okay with an environment where you don't feel the safest, its perfect. I just unfortunately won't be returning due to me traveling alone.
