Amazing stay at Casa de la Ballena. Martin and the hotel staff are very warm, welcoming and kind. The property and the casitas were stunning, full of everything you need. Amenities (breakfasts + filtered water) were greatly appreciated. The garden is pristine and the pool was incredible. We very much enjoyed our relaxing stay here (and away from the busy town center). We are looking forward to returning again in the future. Thank you!

Beautiful and secure property. Amazing breakfast in the morning, anything you’d want. Gracious host. All amenities were available. We stayed here because it was close to town, but yet not enough to have the noise. However, the first night the owners and a couple guests had a late night party (2am) in the hot tub, which was right next to our room. It was constant talking and laughing, we could hear every word. I’m cool with something til 10 or even 11. But 2am was disrespectful. It’s a very small property and I’m sure we weren’t the only ones bothered by this. I’d go back, but hesitant because of that event.

The hard-working staff was very pleasant and it was a joy to walk into our lovely super-clean room at the end of a busy day. Martin, the manager, was helpful, no matter the request. If I had to come up with one suggestion, it would be to add grab bars in the shower. Otherwise, it’s a lovely oasis!

We stayed at Casa de la Ballena during our recent 10 day Sayulita trip and absolutely loved it. The location of the property is less then a five minute walk into town, so no need for a golf cart unless you plan to explore further out. For as much noise as there sometimes is around the town, our experience while in the hotel was always extremely peaceful and quiet. The entire property always felt clean, safe and really secure. The pool was a perfect place to lounge on the days we didn’t want to hangout at the beach and kept us cool in the heat. From 8-11am you’re also welcome to join on the patio for breakfast and coffee, which was included in your stay and really delicious. You’re provided a small menu of options, spanning from pancakes and bacon to chilaquiles, and everything was super yummy. Martin and his staff are incredibly polite, accommodating and take a lot of pride in the property. The place was even more beautiful then the photos led on. I highly recommend staying here and plan to make it our regular spot from now on.

This was a peaceful oasis in a busy place. The rooms were beautiful and spacious with polished concrete floors, a little kitchenette with a full sized fridge, a comfortable couch and bed. The location was excellent to the centre square of the town (less than 5 minute walk). The staff were super friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fantastic in the beautiful courtyard. The gym is spacious, has relatively new equipment, and is air conditioned. There is also a great view from the gym!

I cannot recommend this property highly enough. When I extended my stay by a night I simply booked this based on the location and perceived amenities; but after checking in I wish I had spent my entire stay here! The owner (Martin) and staff were kind, responsive, and extremely helpful. The rooms and property are pristinely maintained, spacious and beautiful. I was truly surprised by how well appointed and stocked the kitchen was in my spacious room. Breakfasts that is included in your stay is really wonderful, you choose from a menu it’s not a mediocre buffet or single option. Something that is a HUGE bonus when staying in Mexico - all rooms have filtered water. Amazing! This place is an excellent value. The wifi was good enough that I could easy come for a week or more and work from here. One of my favorite things about this property was tranquil vibe. This is not a place to stay if you’re looking to party - you have other options for that in Sayulita. It felt like a hidden paradise… when I showed my friends who were staying elsewhere pictures and the peaked in the door (no extra guests allowed which I also loved) they were so jealous. Location is phenomenal with all the best Sayulita has to offer a short flat (or can be hilly!) walk. We are all planning to book here our next trip!

Beautiful and peaceful property perfect for our first visit to Sayulita. Included breakfast every morning, the best breakfasts I've had in the last few years of travel in US and Asia. The friendly property manager provided top notch service everyday so we could truly enjoy our mini-vacation. I plan to return and I am recommending Casa de la Ballena to friends and family.

This was a peaceful oasis in a busy place. The rooms were beautiful and spacious with polished concrete floors, a little kitchenette with a full sized fridge, a comfortable couch and bed. The location was excellent to the centre square of the town (less than 5 minute walk). The staff were super friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fantastic in the beautiful courtyard. The gym is spacious, has relatively new equipment, and is air conditioned. There is also a great view from the gym!

Such an amazing spot and location. The host is absolutely amazing. Someone ordered an ingredient that they did not have and he ran to the store to pick it up. Cannot speak more highly of this property.

Loved this hotel! Martin and his staff treat their guests like family. The property was well kept, in great condition, and very comfortable. Downtown is a short walk and it was nice to be a little outside the busy area. The neighborhood felt safe and the itself was a little oasis. Also, the daily breakfast offered a variety of options and was delicious. I would definitely recommend. Thanks for a great stay!

We enjoyed the beautiful property, whether lounging at the pool or sitting in the dining area. The hard-working staff was very pleasant and it was a joy to walk into our lovely super-clean room at the end of a busy day. Martin, the manager, was helpful, no matter the request. The room was spacious and the little kitchen had everything necessary to prepare a meal. Only 5 minutes walk or less, to the beach and the town! If I had to come up with one suggestion, it would be to add grab bars in the shower. Otherwise, it’s a lovely oasis!

We stayed at Casa de la Ballena during our recent 10 day Sayulita trip and absolutely loved it. The location of the property is less then a five minute walk into town, so no need for a golf cart unless you plan to explore further out. For as much noise as there sometimes is around the town, our experience while in the hotel was always extremely peaceful and quiet. The entire property always felt clean, safe and really secure. The pool was a perfect place to lounge on the days we didn’t want to hangout at the beach and kept us cool in the heat. From 8-11am you’re also welcome to join on the patio for breakfast and coffee, which was included in your stay and really delicious. You’re provided a small menu of options, spanning from pancakes and bacon to chilaquiles, and everything was super yummy. Martin and his staff are incredibly polite, accommodating and take a lot of pride in the property. The place was even more beautiful then the photos led on. I highly recommend staying here and plan to make it our regular spot from now on.

Beautiful and peaceful property perfect for our first visit to Sayulita. Included breakfast every morning, the best breakfasts I've had in the last few years of travel in US and Asia. The friendly property manager provided top notch service everyday so we could truly enjoy our mini-vacation. I plan to return and I am recommending Casa de la Ballena to friends and family.

I cannot recommend this property highly enough. When I extended my stay by a night I simply booked this based on the location and perceived amenities; but after checking in I wish I had spent my entire stay here! The owner (Martin) and staff were kind, responsive, and extremely helpful. The rooms and property are pristinely maintained, spacious and beautiful. I was truly surprised by how well appointed and stocked the kitchen was in my spacious room. Breakfasts that is included in your stay is really wonderful, you choose from a menu it’s not a mediocre buffet or single option. Something that is a HUGE bonus when staying in Mexico - all rooms have filtered water. Amazing! This place is an excellent value. The wifi was good enough that I could easy come for a week or more and work from here. One of my favorite things about this property was tranquil vibe. This is not a place to stay if you’re looking to party - you have other options for that in Sayulita. It felt like a hidden paradise… when I showed my friends who were staying elsewhere pictures and the peaked in the door (no extra guests allowed which I also loved) they were so jealous. Location is phenomenal with all the best Sayulita has to offer a short flat (or can be hilly!) walk. We are all planning to book here our next trip!

Without a doubt the best place and best deal in Sayulita. It is beautifully appointed throughout with little details like fine linens, special beach towels, surfboard rack/station, and an immaculate garden make it extra special. The made-to-order sit-down breakfast alone is a huge value. But the highlight is Martin, the hardest working man in the hotel business, he makes you feel like you're a visiting foreign dignitary. He and his staff repeatedly provided the perfect amount of attention; not too much and not too little.

It was very clean, quiet and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was good. Everyone was friendly. Only a few minutes walk to beach or downtown area. Perfect location. Only complaint was hot water for shower didn't last long. You get about 3 minutes before it starts to cool. I would stay again.
