My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this historic Victorian inn, which has been upgraded to include every modern convenience while maintaining its charm. Complimentary snacks, soft drinks, coffee & tea were available at all times. And the freshly made gourmet breakfast was amazing!

The room, breakfast and decor were amazing. It was nice to have the ice, books, games and movies available. The breakfasts were extraordinary! The shower head might need to be changed out, it felt like needles because it came out unevenly. However, the jacuzzi was very relaxing. The ceiling fan kept the room comfortable. We enjoyed the fireplace. It would have been nice if they had replaced the cookies and muffins for our second night, but they were nice when we arrived. Thank you.

We loved our stay here! The b & b was so cozy and the breakfast each morning was great. It was a short drive into the town. They also had a great little trail with beatiful wildflowers lining the property that you could walk in. They provided so many amenities that I wasn't expecting such as coffee, tea, fresh baked goods, snacks in the room, fridge full of drink options, toiletries, etc. If you like b&bs this one is a must stay!

Gorgeous space, well laid out, many amenities! Also quiet, easy to park, and our room was very spacious. The stairs are a little scary, but totally expected for the house style and age. Lots of care taken—best B&B we’ve stayed with.

This is a beautiful Bed & Breakfast, featuring a delightful jacuzzi and a 3-course breakfast. We were running late in arriving, as we had a long trip from a graduation event several hours away. We needed to shoehorn in a quick nap, clothing change, and snack in order to be on time for the James Taylor concert at CMAC. We ended up on the front porch for 45 minutes, trying the code. Owners think the mechanism needs to be changed, however I say the instructions need to be crystal clear...no fuzzy language and all will be just fine. We ended up being late for the concert and found painfully distant lawn seats. Next morning, a wonderful 3-course breakfast was served and we were joined by interesting guests in the beautiful dining area. All in all...we know how to handle things next time!

Just a quick overnight, but was a comfortable stay. Beautiful B+B and grounds. Had a little bit of road noise and the circle staircase was a bit scary at our ages, but neither were a reason to not return.

The restored victorian home was a great experience. The house and room were clean, quiet, and decorated to theme and style. The exterior gardens and grounds were beautiful and peaceful. The three course breakfast, which was made from scratch, was a culinary treat and very filling. Totally wonderful stay!

Really nice BnB. The room was large and clean. We stayed in the Parker suite. Large jacuzzi tub in the center room. The breakfasts were excellent 4 course meals. I’d like the coffee to be stronger but that’s a personal preference. This is a nice location. Don’t worry about not staying in town or on the water front because either of these are easily accessible by car and the town and waterfront do not meet each other geographically, so you’ll need transportation either way.

Exceptional stay here. Great location, only minutes from Canandaigua lake and center of town. Rooms are clean and quiet, with every possible amenity and snacks. The breakfast is amazing, unlike anywhere else that I’ve been. I would definitely stay here again!

I couldn’t recommend coming here enough. We had an amazing stay everything was clean, comfortable and the staff was very friendly. The breakfast the next day was phenomenal and the portions are more than enough.

The Sutherland was a little out of the way of everything, and a bit hard to find off the road. The outdoor property was beautiful, but it was hard to find the front door, and no one there to greet you (which was mentioned in review). We stayed up the spiral staircase in the Rose Room, which looked like an old lady covered in roses died here. The room was very small, the bathroom was actuallly bigger than the bedroom and we had to store our luggage there. The hotel was clean & the room was somewhat comfortable though. The B&B looked like something out of a haunted movie, and apparently the place is actually haunted. If you love Victorian stuff, you will love this, otherwise it is kind of a creepy place. They have a home-cooked 3-course breakfast, which was delicious, but was not included in our stay (which was not clear when we booked it). Walk into the main parlor and you will hear music played by an old music box, lots of doilies, and old stuff everywhere. And up the steps is a headless mannequin wearing pearls and an old wedding dress (we were afraid it would come visit us at night)--lol, it was next to a modern Keurig coffee station. It gave us a few good laughs and I'm no longer allowed to book hotels by my husband. All in all, it was an adventure, but don't stay here if you want a modern place.

This bed and breakfast was beautiful and spacious. The owners were fabulous. It was easy to check in and the room was comfortable. The breakfast was 5 star!! Far and away the best breakfast I’ve ever had! I’d definitely recommend it and hope to get this way again!

This was one of the most charming and welcoming bed and breakfasts we have stayed at. The Innkeepers really go out of their way with the little touches to make you feel welcome and at home. Not to mention the house itself is absolutely beautiful. Check in was very easy. They send you detailed communications with everything you need to know for your stay. They're also available if you should need anything while you're there. Plus the House's location is perfect for exploring the Canandaigua area. We stayed in Henry's Haven and the bed was very comfortable. Having your own ensuite is a plus as well. Breakfast the next morning was also very good. It was a four course meal served along with coffee, tea, two kinds of juice and water. We really enjoyed the conversations with the other guests at breakfast as well. Highly recommend staying here. You won't be disappointed.

The old house was fascinating, very unique. Check in was easy but alittle different in that we did not see anyone til the next morning. Breakfast was fantastic. I would recommend this B&B as long as you want peace and quiet.

This is a beautiful Bed & Breakfast, featuring a delightful jacuzzi and a 3-course breakfast. We were running late in arriving, as we had a long trip from a graduation event several hours away. We needed to shoehorn in a quick nap, clothing change, and snack in order to be on time for the James Taylor concert at CMAC. We ended up on the front porch for 45 minutes, trying the code. Owners think the mechanism needs to be changed, however I say the instructions need to be crystal clear...no fuzzy language and all will be just fine. We ended up being late for the concert and found painfully distant lawn seats. Next morning, a wonderful 3-course breakfast was served and we were joined by interesting guests in the beautiful dining area. All in all...we know how to handle things next time!

This was one of the most charming and welcoming bed and breakfasts we have stayed at. The Innkeepers really go out of their way with the little touches to make you feel welcome and at home. Not to mention the house itself is absolutely beautiful. Check in was very easy. They send you detailed communications with everything you need to know for your stay. They're also available if you should need anything while you're there. Plus the House's location is perfect for exploring the Canandaigua area. We stayed in Henry's Haven and the bed was very comfortable. Having your own ensuite is a plus as well. Breakfast the next morning was also very good. It was a four course meal served along with coffee, tea, two kinds of juice and water. We really enjoyed the conversations with the other guests at breakfast as well. Highly recommend staying here. You won't be disappointed.

Had a wonderful and relaxing evening and breakfast at Sutherland. Very much enjoyed the group setting for breakfast and meeting the other guests. The cook did a really great job rearranging to accommodate a couple that accidentally forgot to book breakfast and the meal was delicious. We love the Canandaigua area for a quick “day and a half trip” and will absolutely stay here again.

This is such a neat place. I love the Victorian style decor and the Christmas decorations were still up which made the stay even more magical 😊 Sam and Maria were easy to contact. My husband and I didn’t get to have breakfast this time because of a scheduling conflict. All in all, it was such a nice stay 😊

The Sutherland was a little out of the way of everything, and a bit hard to find off the road. The outdoor property was beautiful, but it was hard to find the front door, and no one there to greet you (which was mentioned in review). We stayed up the spiral staircase in the Rose Room, which looked like an old lady covered in roses died here. The room was very small, the bathroom was actuallly bigger than the bedroom and we had to store our luggage there. The hotel was clean & the room was somewhat comfortable though. The B&B looked like something out of a haunted movie, and apparently the place is actually haunted. If you love Victorian stuff, you will love this, otherwise it is kind of a creepy place. They have a home-cooked 3-course breakfast, which was delicious, but was not included in our stay (which was not clear when we booked it). Walk into the main parlor and you will hear music played by an old music box, lots of doilies, and old stuff everywhere. And up the steps is a headless mannequin wearing pearls and an old wedding dress (we were afraid it would come visit us at night)--lol, it was next to a modern Keurig coffee station. It gave us a few good laughs and I'm no longer allowed to book hotels by my husband. All in all, it was an adventure, but don't stay here if you want a modern place.

We stayed for one night in October, 2024, as an overnight stop on a longer trip. Loved the place! We plan to go back. Enjoyed the sitting room, it was like going back in time. Gorgeous space, well laid out, many amenities! Also quiet, easy to park, and our room was very spacious. The stairs are a little scary, but totally expected for the house style and age. Lots of care taken—best B&B we’ve stayed with.

We enjoyed 3 nights at the beautifully decorated Sutherland House. Breakfast was served each day by Nate and it was excellent! We met people traveling from a variety of locations which made breakfast even more entertaining. The location was in the quiet suburbs but convenient to many interesting attractions and restaurants. We highly recommend the Sutherland House.

Really nice BnB. The room was large and clean. We stayed in the Parker suite. Large jacuzzi tub in the center room. The breakfasts were excellent 4 course meals. I’d like the coffee to be stronger but that’s a personal preference. This is a nice location. Don’t worry about not staying in town or on the water front because either of these are easily accessible by car and the town and waterfront do not meet each other geographically, so you’ll need transportation either way.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this historic Victorian inn, which has been upgraded to include every modern convenience while maintaining its charm. Complimentary snacks, soft drinks, coffee & tea were available at all times. And the freshly made gourmet breakfast was amazing!

The restored victorian home was a great experience. The house and room were clean, quiet, and decorated to theme and style. The exterior gardens and grounds were beautiful and peaceful.
