The room (room 2) did smell of damp and there is a damp patch between the bathroom and front door which is why I've given it an average rating. This may have been recent damage as there were no signs of mould but perhaps notification of the issue would have been welcome rather than ignoring it. The trim was missing off the bottom of the shower tray which just made it look unloved. Other than that I loved the quirkiness of the room which was clearly quite old. Parked right outside the window off road which was handy.

Everything catered for microwave, crockery and cutlery, iron & board, hairdryer. Could do with coat rack behind front door for wet coats, hooks on bathroom door and loo roll holder. Otherwise fine, comfortable bed, parking, pub nearby for food.

It is a little unfair to rate my stay at Findon Rest, because my room is obviously in the middle of being renovated and as such I had to rate it lower than I would have normally. I loved the location. The village is quiet and functional. It has a couple of pubs where you can eat. A post office come general store and a cafe. What more could you want. My only real downer, was that whilst I had hot water to shave in, I couldn't get the shower to heat up. I am not a cold shower person so did not enjoy my shower. The tea and coffe were great and the fact you could park outside was great. They even have a couple of tables in the courtyard that you could sit at.

Bedlinen and towels were immaculate but floor didn't seem to have been hoovered - furniture certainly hadn't been moved as there was an empty sweet packet down the back of the sofa. We used the cotton throw from bed to cover sofa as it had a rip in the cushion which didn't look great. Nice touch to provide a fan as well as a heater in the room as it was very warm when we were there. Parking was tight for a larger car but manageable. Good base to get out and about onto main transport routes nearby.

Compact accommodation, suited our needs for an overnight stay. We were warm enough, the room was clean and tidy. Parking is not advertised, there are some small spaces or parking on street is free. There are pubs and an Indian restaurant nearby. Village does not have streetlighting.

The property itself was very cute and great for a little get away. Unfortunately the property stunk of mould and damp which made the stay rather uncomfortable being severely asthmatic. The bed covers felt a little damp which i can only assume this being from the room being so damp. On a plus note it was tidy and clean and the beds were comfortable.

We only stayed here for 1 night, lovely little place although basic the price was reasonable, it has everything you need, was clean & tidy if somewhat a little tired. There was evidence of rising damp but I’m not buying the property so it didn’t bother me. The bed was fairly comfortable although the pillows were hard but there were 2 to choose from. The tea & coffee provided was an added bonus. We would definitely stay here again.

We reported this on arrival but it wasn’t rectified in spite of an assurance that it would be. No-one came to make up the room or refill the tea/coffee after the first night. We couldn’t get onto the WiFi at all. We also had problems with the heating, which came on for only short periods and couldn’t be adjusted. Could be a very nice place to stay if these things were rectified.

The room was very small which is what we expected bed was very firm but comfortable. Unfortunately it was a very hot night and the ceiling fan didnt do anything yo help. Tea/coffee making facilities, no coffee and only enough milk for my partner to have 1 tea each morning (just as well there was no coffee or i would have been drinking it black) Toilet, once flushed, keeps running. Badly broken tile behinde basin. Bed side lamp not working. Getting run down from our previous stay.

The property was a little hard to find. The room was cold ( thermostat was locked at 15 C, which was a little chilly. Wifi kept cutting in and out every 10-15 minutes, which was annoying.

Reasonable but nowhere to hang my blazer and trousers was unacceptable. Monday evening was the hottest so far this year and the overhead fan was incapable of cooling the room. Also had problem with toilet cistern which I raised with the proprietor and which he will fix.

What a cute room, everything you could possibly need. Brilliant shower. Being winter and almost -12 degrees outside, we found the room very cold on arrival. It would be great if the room could be warm on arrival, but 100% understand fuel costs are expensive and this option may not be viable. Sadly the tv remote batteries were flat which made navigating the TV a bit difficult. There was also no Tea bags in the room (only coffee). Other than that, we loved our stay!! It was inexpensive, but comfortable and we will use Findon Rest again. Thank you to the proprietors and to the kind lady who cleaned the room.

Nice place generally good but let itself down by - not being able to contact owner to rectify issues (contact numbers in welcome book incorrect) - No WiFi / Unable to use TV / No flooring in bathroom due to old leak around shower tray / Payment taken on booking credit card early without notification. Shame as this is a basic but nice place to stay!

I loved the location. The village is quiet and functional. It has a couple of pubs where you can eat. A post office come general store and a cafe. What more could you want. My only real downer, was that whilst I had hot water to shave in, I couldn't get the shower to heat up. I am not a cold shower person so did not enjoy my shower. The tea and coffe were great and the fact you could park outside was great. They even have a couple of tables in the courtyard that you could sit at.

Great value for money in a quiet, pretty village. A perfect short stop to explore the south downs and coast. I would stay again if i return to the area.

Quirky little room. Good information pack. Great bathroom and comfy beds. Bedlinen and towels were immaculate but floor didn't seem to have been hoovered - furniture certainly hadn't been moved as there was an empty sweet packet down the back of the sofa. We used the cotton throw from bed to cover sofa as it had a rip in the cushion which didn't look great. Nice touch to provide a fan as well as a heater in the room as it was very warm when we were there. Parking was tight for a larger car but manageable. Good base to get out and about onto main transport routes nearby.

Compact accommodation, suited our needs for an overnight stay. We were warm enough, the room was clean and tidy. Parking is not advertised, there are some small spaces or parking on street is free. There are pubs and an Indian restaurant nearby. Village does not have streetlighting.

Unfortunately this accommodation was not up to standards for letting. Hole in the wall, very dirty shower floor( picture to follow), stain on the bed, stain on sofa, muggy smell on arrival, carpets old and not been vacuumed and towels were very old and thin.

Findon was a nice quint village, decent pubs etc. unfortunately the accommodation didn't live up to expectation. Needs a good clean, also repairing of a badly cracked tile in the bathroom, and repairing hole in the roof as well. The bed was comfortable on the plus side and plenty of coffee and tea.

Okay if you need a cheap room for the night. The sofa was so damaged I didn't want to sit on it. Bit of a fusty smell and didn't use the shower.
