The lady greeting us when we checked in was very friendly and helpful with restaurant recommendations and told us about the Glow Worm Dell a short drive away which we loved seeing. The room was spacious and clean with a kitchenette including a small dishwasher and cooktop which we didn’t need but would be helpful if staying a longer time. We’d come back again any time.

Sonja was fantastic! Picked me up, made sure I had everything I needed. Hotel is an easy walk to town. Room had a lovely spa and a very well fitted out small kitchen area for longer stays. Would definitely recommend!

Fabulous accommodation, spotlessly clean well decorated and everything you need for a comfortable stay. In a perfect spot for a stroll in to the town but in a quiet street. Phil and Sonya were great host, gave us great ideas of where to go, sorted a helicopter ride for us too. Excellent stay thanks

Without doubt, probably the nicest motel I've ever stayed in. Room was clean and modern with lovely furnishings. Bed was large and very comfortable- had a great night's sleep. Everything we could need for our stay. Great location, easy walk into town. Definitely recommend and I would certainly stay here again.

Ours was an exceptionally nice stay at Stopforths! Our entire suite was super clean and comfortable and provided all amenities we needed for our two-night stay. The kitchenette and bathroom were each stocked with all the essentials with all appliances in good working order. The motel is in the middle of a residential area, and our second floor room overlooked the yards of the surrounding homes --unexpected but not an issue. The area is very quiet despite being just a short few blocks away to restaurants and shops downtown (would be an easy and pleasant walk). We were very happy to have found this great place to stay having never been to Hokitika and would easily choose it again should we return!

Friendly host. And really clean facility. I had a bad luck where the heat pump stopped working. The host was kind to provide a fan heater. But it was quite noisy. In an hotel I would normally expect to change the room. However the problem I had was the quality of the mattress. Uneven cushion surface.

Well appointed room, lounge, kitchen & bathroom. Lovely property in an area close to the centre of Hokitika with cafes & restaurants closeby. Proprietors were excellent in advising us that we had left some property behind & happy to post back to us (reimbursement made), going that extra mile.

Staff was friendly and welcoming and very informative. A map was given upon arrival with advice on local eateries and restaurants and information on local sites to visit. Milk provided, decent plunger coffee, tea and milo options in room. Rooms were clean, tidy and all for a reasonable price. Would definitely stay again.

I booked through the website, I was immediately on my way to the place of stay to have the actual company call and say they had booked it out already. A really poor way to advertise and provide a service as clearly this would happen often if multiple places are booking a accomodation service. It left me in the lurch with no accomodation.

This property was a pleasant surprise! Room was nicely appointed, spotless, bed was super comfortable and the host treated us like friends! The host gave us excellent tips on dining and sightseeing and we really enjoyed being able to walk all over town. Highly recommend!

Stopforths was a perfect base for our time in Hokotika. The room was well appointed, with good desk, table for playing games or eating, nice shower, comfortable bed, friendly staff, good proximity to center of town. A little tricky to find, but no big deal. All in all, an excellent choice and we'd come back again.
