This was an excellent overnight stay. All of the employees we encountered were very friendly and helpful. The restaurant in the hotel was not only convenient but also affordable and delicious. The indoor/outdoor pool was relaxing and well maintained. We enjoyed the air hockey and pool table available for guests. Our room was clean and presentable. The beds were very comfortable. We were on our motorcycle and when the manager realized she told us to just park the bike at the end of the drive through by the front window so they could keep an eye on it for us.

We chose this hotel mainly because it had a pool and hot tub. Nowhere on their website did they mention that the pool and hot tub were closed for remodeling. Stayed here before it is a lovely place to stay. This time however we were with family members that had back trouble and needed the pool and hot tub. We could have stayed closer to where we were going but we chose here because of the hot tub.

The hotel was a pleasant surprise. Management should be recognized for setting the example. Extremely clean including the common area’s, room and bathroom. The pool and jacuzzi were spotless and the best experience of all was the price. Very reasonable. Great place to stay.

When I first got there my towels were thrown on the floor, and my bathroom wasn’t cleaned at all BUT Nate at the front desk and the head of house cleaning fixed those problems. Those two made my stay enjoyable :)

This hotel was truly nice. But I got there at almost 9pm and it took 43 minutes to check in, that’s beyond unacceptable to me. No apologies for the wait, not small talk: it was just super weird, no idea where breakfast was but I think it was offered, For the good, the room was super comfortable and lots of room. Bathroom was great as well. Parking was perfect as well. But 43 minutes to check in was just crazy.

Staying at the Ramada Inn was wonderful. The rooms were clean, pretty, and the beds were very comfortable! The hotel staff (especially the front desk) were helpful and accommodating. For those of you looking for a place to stay in Johnson County, you can’t beat the Ramada Inn.

So the Hotel itself was nice. Very beautiful courtyard room with a bar, restaurant and places to sit. The room however was a different story. The tv was quite small so the other guest could hardly see it. The bathroom drain didn't drain (took an hour) just for water from brushing teeth to go down. The water pressure in the shower wasn't the greatest and the beds were quite stiff and there is not much lighting in the room except from yellowing lights and a bit of daylight. I was there for a makeup conference so good lighting would have been nice. I made it work. The staff was very friendly though so it made up for it.

Definitely the nicest hotel in Paintsville... Although... More Southern Hospitality could be found at a McDonalds. The staff was not helpful and was even rude at one point. Due to them blocking off sections of the parking lot for maintenance, I had no choice but to park out behind the building. (Which is absolutely no problem for me: there is a rear entrance.) However, they lock the resr entrance door FROM THE INSIDE because the pool entrance is also there. I do unserstand yhe importance of safety, but when I asked the front desk about it so that I could go to my vehicle at around midnight, I received a very snotty and unprofessional answer of "Just go around." Keep in mind there are keycard access points on the exterior of the rear entrance to allow people back in... I know this sounds trivial to some, but when you have a physical disability, this becomes a problem. The front desk staff tried to give me someone else's bill at checkout and when I informed them that i didn't owe anything as I prepaid for the room, she snatched the bill out of my hand and said "youre all set then." This could be and amazing hotel. Its absolutely gorgeous inside, but I will stay in a nearby town before I stay there again. The rooms are clean, but the staff has no personality for $160/night.

Ramada Inn Paintsville KY was amazing. Everywhere I looked the facility was modern, neat and clean, well maintained, easy to get around in. I loved the village square off the lobby with the brick pavement, water fountain, quaint street lights and benches. We loved the swimming pool, Honey B’s restaurant and the spiral staircase. The room was neat, clean, fresh and well equipped with everything a traveler could want. The staff people were attentive, polite fun and always cleaning something. All this in the quiet hills of rural Kentucky. You should really check this place out for yourself.

Having stayed there over the years, I was very disappointed that breakfast area was closed and now they offer breakfast but with plastic utensils. The help staff was very nice and friendly but still eating with cheap plastic utensils, while paying almost $150 a night.

I spent a lot of time in the mid / late 90s, traversing the state of Kentucky with my father for various conventions, and was lucky enough to be able to spend a lot of that time with my father in the once grand convention center style hotels. The Executive Inn in Owensboro, Paducah and Louisville; the DrawBridge Inn in Covington, the Embassy Suites in Lexington - and the "Carriage House Hotel" in Paintsville. 25+ years later, I find myself back in the former Carriage House. Not because of my Dad's conventions, but because of all random things - my teenage son having to travel to take his ACT. When he was scheduled for Paintsville, I was surprised; the opportunity to relive a generational hotel experience from my past with my own son was too cool to pass up. This hotel hasn't changed - in all of the right ways. The architecture is still there; French Quarter style storefronts occupied by relevant local businesses, yet not off-putting. The atrium is still peaceful to overlook, the seating areas are clean and comfortable. The rooms, freshly redone, are excellent - spotless and comfortable. This grand old hotel is quiet - surprisingly so. It FEELS like a resort, and quite out of place in Eastern Kentucky. I will be back, often, not just for the nostalgia but for the modernized comfort and peacefulness. Also - STEPH at the front desk is a level above. She went so far out of her way to ensure out stay was perfect - even helping us find a calculator my son forgot for his ACT use!
