Great location close to restaurants, cafes, and venues. Nice place with stylish decor and friendly staff. Breakfast was pretty good, but the facilities and staffing are not designed for the number of guests the hotel can hold. One must schedule the time for breakfast, and even then it can be that some items are unavailable at that time. Another significant downside is that there is no actual heating in the climate control system. So the room was chilly. The only option is for the dehumidifier feature to be turned on, but that provides minimal or even possibly no benefit. If romance is part of the plan, better adjust your plans a bit... If the weather were warmer, the stay would be much nicer.

Lakens van 1 bed duidelijk al gebruikt, er hing snot aan. Haardroger was extreem verouderd, geen roomservice mogelijk, handdoekrekje kwam los uit de muur. Personeel vriendelijk, ontbijt oké.

El hotel está muy céntrico, el staff es muy amable pero el restaurante está cerrado. No hay un lugar donde centrarse en la recepción y muy poco muebles en el cuarto, como para poner las maletas. Necesita un poco de mantenimiento.

A totally enjoyable stay, the staff make you feel welcome and at home from the moment you arrive. Nothing is too much trouble for them. The building is an old monastery and has been thoughtfully refurbished throughout. The food in the restaurant is great and the bar and restaurant offer a very relaxed atmosphere, just what you need after the busy bars of Maastricht.

Mooie locatie, maar teleurstellende schoonmaak We verbleven 2 nachten in Hotel Monastère in Maastricht. De locatie is absoluut top en het bed lag heerlijk, dus qua comfort en ligging scoort het hotel goed. Helaas liet het onderhoud en de schoonmaak te wensen over. Er zaten vlekken in de vloerbedekking en we vonden zelfs medicatie op de grond bij aankomst. Ook was de lamp in de badkamer kapot en kon dit tijdens ons verblijf niet worden gerepareerd. Het uitzicht vanuit onze kamer was bovendien minder dan gehoopt. Het personeel bood wel hun excuses aan en gaf ons ter compensatie twee flesjes wijn, wat we op prijs stelden. Al met al een gemengde ervaring: goede ligging en bedden, maar hygiëne en onderhoud mogen echt beter.

Lovely, simple, comfortable hotel with a cosy, authentic feel. The room was comfortable (great beds and plenty of room) and everything very clean and well cared for. Our room was at the front of the hotel overlooking the street and it was very, very noisy for much of the night. Guests who are light sleepers might want to request a room facing the back.

Unfortunately, our one-night stay at Hotel Monastère was overshadowed by an unacceptable hygiene issue. On the morning of our departure, we found two cockroaches in our room (Room 215), one even crawling on the bed. We took photos as proof (see attached image). We had very little time before check-out, so we didn’t report it to the front desk in person – instead, we emailed the hotel shortly after. While the hotel did respond, the tone of the replies was more focused on what we supposedly did wrong (not informing reception immediately, not showing the insects) than on sincerely addressing the issue. Cockroaches in a hotel room are not a minor inconvenience – this is a serious cleanliness and maintenance failure. The offered 25% refund did not reflect the severity of the situation, and the lack of understanding in the follow-up communication made it worse. We expected a much more professional and guest-focused handling of this incident. Definitely not the experience we had hoped for.

A great hotel and location. I stayed in room 112 which was beautiful. Just a few minor issues to note: I could hear the traffic from my room, the shower was faulty because it’s difficult to regulate the water temperature, the shower was more like a wet room and there’s no wardrobe in the room.

Prijs/kwaliteit is zeer goed. Mooi hotel in het centrum maar toch is het rustig. Enig klein minpuntje zijn de opberg mogelijkheden op de kamer. Geen kast op de kamer en geen plankje op de badkamer om toilettas op te plaatsen.

It is a charming hotel. The staff at check in is mostly young people. It could be by chance but when I had interactions with them, they were unprofessional. They were talking amongst each other, which I don’t mind… but they gave me the keys and I was not able to use it to open my room… twice when checking in. Once I understand , but twice… it is frustrating, more so when there was no apology given. I felt like I was interrupting something… I don’t know how to explain it. I have to go back to the charming town of Maastricht . I am going g to try another place.

J'ai eu une chambre au premier étage donnant directement sur la rue. En face de l'hôtel, il y a un bar où les clients sont par groupes de 10 à 15 personnes. Il y a du bruit infernal jusqu'à 2h30 de la nuit. Impossible de dormir. J'ai demandé un changement de chambre à deux reprises: refusé.

Arrived to find our room was not ready and instructed to come back later . Eventually got in to the family room . It was filthy dirty, cobwebs in the corner of the room, on ceiling lights, and under the bed had it’s on eco system. In addition there was nowhere to place a case , and there are no wardrobes in the room. The lamp side table was broken. When this was brought to the attention of the hotel and you girl ( not a manager and the catering manager ) did their best to rectify the situation but there is only so much they could do. The place is filthy and is grossly understaffed . That you girl was the only person on duty after 5 o clock . No manager or person in authority was on the premises and I believe that this is a regular occurrence . Do not stop here . Go somewhere else and save yourself a multitude of heartache and enjoy your holiday in a difficult premises.

Had a great 3 night stay here. Maastricht is great city with plenty to do with the Monastere in a great central location and it was very comfortable with nice bedrooms. We had a small drain issue which was fixed very quickly. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel is very central to the shops and squares and everything is in easy walking distance. The railway station is also close and within easy walking distance. We would definitely recommend getting the Bus from the Airport to the Train Station and walking to the hotel. Bars and Restaurants are in the square about 50m away. The Vrijthof square is only 5 mins walk from the hotel, so perfect if you are going to a concert in the square.

Great location close to restaurants, cafes, and venues. Nice place with stylish decor and friendly staff. Breakfast was pretty good, but the facilities and staffing are not designed for the number of guests the hotel can hold. One must schedule the time for breakfast, and even then it can be that some items are unavailable at that time. Another significant downside is that there is no actual heating in the climate control system. So the room was chilly. The only option is for the dehumidifier feature to be turned on, but that provides minimal or even possibly no benefit. If romance is part of the plan, better adjust your plans a bit... If the weather were warmer, the stay would be much nicer.

Dårlig standard til å være et 4-stjerners hotell. Ingen minibar på rommet, intet klesskap, bare noen kleshengere på kroker for å henge tøy på, alt det andre måtte ligge i kofferten. Ganske stort rom med kun to små ukomfortable stoler å sitte i. Badet var stort og i utgangspunktet ganske fint men vaskene var nesten umulig å bøye seg over å vaske seg i da vannkranen var så stor at den dekket hele vasken! I tillegg var det skjeggkre på badet. Frokosten var heller dårlig med kalde kokte egg, eggerøre som var laget av ferdigkjøpt eggerøremasse, fabrikklaget appelsinjuice og langtidsholdbar melk! Betjeningen vi var i kontakt med både i resepsjon og frokostsal var veldig hyggelige og hjelpsomme men det hjelper liksom ikke når resten var under pari.

Stayed for 3 nights during the Andre Reau concerts and found the hotel to be ideally situated - not too close to the centre to be caught up in the hustle and bustle but well within walking distance so you're not trekking in and out each day. The hotel itself was very clean and spacious. The facilities were all simple to use and very nice to have (we made good use of the Bluetooth speaker and coffee machine in the room to ease us into the mornings!) and the staff were lovely and helpful. Breakfast was equally as nice with a good selection of items and all good quality. Would certainly recommend a stay here and we're already looking forward to paying another visit one Christmas to experience the city at a different time of the year.
