Hampton Inn & Suites Stroud

The parking was awful--there really needs to be more spaces. But the room was lovely and the breakfast was good!

POSITIVES: All around the hotel was nice. The staff was friendly, the breakfast was decent as well as the breakfast area was very clean and upkept, AND the breakfast attendant was SUPER sweet. The beds were super comfy, and the rooms were spacious, and clean. They were very accommodating to us and our softball team. The pool is a pretty small, but they have nice patio areas to sit outside at. NEGATIVES: I reserved two rooms, one would think they'd be side by side... Nope, they were on two different floors, which was pretty inconvenient. One had the door coming off the hinges for the bathroom and it wouldn't close properly at all. The inside the elevator was very dirty, as well as skeptical as the lights flickered and it shut off multiple times. When we told the front desk, they just brushed it off. There was lots of trash in the parking lot and the parking wasn't the most convenient when construction workers decided to park all their vehicles sideways..... All in all for a small town, and the area it served it's purpose, and I would stay again.

I was at this hotel in late July and one of the elevators was out of service. We used the same hotel again about 3 weeks later and the same elevator was out of service. It appears the elevator was out of service the entire 3 weeks and we don't know how long before that. If.the one working elevator went out , we would be lugging luggage up and douw the stairs.

The pool was closed on Friday , I wanted to use the pool to unwind after a 10 hr drive, everything else was good,

Clean and quiet hotel. Has an indoor pool which is pretty small but nice to relax in.

No hand soap in bathroom , no towels in pool area, pool was dirty

My recent 3 night stay was far from satisfactory. The morning following my check-in, I encountered an issue with the hot water in my room. Upon contacting the front desk, I was told that there was a problem affecting hot water on the 3rd and 4th floors, with a part needed for repair. The suggested solution was to let the water run for thirty minutes, with no guarantee of it warming up. What added to my disappointment was the lack of communication regarding this issue. There was no notice provided upon check-in to inform guests of the situation. Instead, the only advice offered was to wake up earlier to potentially avoid a cold shower. The inconvenience didn't end there. The key card provided for side door access didn't work, despite being reactivated 3 times. I discovered that other guests were having similar problems with the hotel's facilities and side door access. Shockingly, some were informed by the front desk that this issue had persisted for months without any communication about efforts to resolve it. There was not a single sign on the door indicating the ongoing problem. One of the elevators had been out of service for weeks, with the same explanation of waiting for a part. This appears to be a recurring theme. Also, the pool was out of order. It too, is probably "waiting on parts." I would advise calling ahead if expecting hot water or perhaps considering alternative accommodations for a more dependable and enjoyable experience.

Located right off turnpike, easy on and off...great bbq place Locatedright down street....However I have a bad back and this is the 2 place I stayed with the pool out of service...washers are also out of service...needless to say I have been very frustrated and in pain from driving...just frustrated that I pay more for a place to stay with amenities and they are not available

Room was very nice and clean. However the first day one of the two elevators was out of service and the 2nd day both were out of service! It said it was for maintenance and if so, why didn’t they do one at a time. We had to carry all of our luggage down the stairs, making several trips. We are elderly and the hotel offered no help

The floor in the common areas and the elevator were filthy and sticky. The ice maker on our floor didn't work. There was mildew on the shower and the tiles were poorly painted. The $75 pet fee is excessive. This hotel charges for incidentals that other hotels do not, like a toothbrush. There was coffee and tea available, but they charged for water because it was bottled.

All of the staff were pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was varied and plentiful. Main issues were lack of cleanliness in elevators and outside & the fact that staff smoked about 10 feet away from entrances.

Everything was great except nothing in the room had been wiped down. Everyone was very nice and breakfast has a large variety so everyone can find something they like. We will be staying there again

Room was not very clean. The curtains were broken. Air conditioner filters were laying on the air conditioner. I told the front desk. Nothing was done. No light by the desk where I was needing to work. Not my typical experience. I travel a lot and prefer Hampton Inn. This one was a disappointment.

Our room wasn’t clean. There was a fun-yon on the floor as well as crumbs all over the room. There was hair all over the bathroom floor. It was clear that housekeeping did not clean the floors at all. There were boogers on the bathroom walls. There was food all over the remote. We tried to alert the front desk, but the lady at the desk was taking phone calls in her car parked under the pull up area out front. She was never at the desk when we came down. Even when we came to check in we had to wait for the desk attendant. I could never get comfortable the whole stay, and after a day on the road it should have been very restful. I had planned to stop again on our way back through, but other arrangements were made based on this stay. The only good thing about our visit was breakfast.

This is the 2nd time I've stayed at the Hampton in Stroud and both times it was very clean, the staff was very helpful, and the room was great. Normally i stay with family in Stroud but very happy to have this option when needed.

My last few stays have been disappointing. There was black mold in the grout on the tub (room 208), when I was running the water in the tub, the shower head was leaking, the water pressure is not very good, the remote was missing from the blinds in the room, and the inner shade was broken and would not go up or down. This issue has been ongoing every time I stay in that room. The bathroom door is very hard to pull closed and has issues. It seems every time I stay there, the hotel is going downhill and they do not keep the place up very well. The bed looked like it hadn't been changed, as there were crumbs under the bedding in the bed. On the good side, I did notice a change in staff since I was there last, and they were much better and nicer. The breakfast choices were good as well.

Our stay at this facility was very nice. I would come back again, but they have an issue they need to resolve, We were on the 4th floor. When we went to shower it took about 10 minutes for us to get hot water. We had to let the water run during this time. They also need more pressure from the shower head. The facility was very clean and very well mainained.

After spending a few nights in decrepit motels (Best Western seems to have a lot of those) my husband and I were very pleasantly surprised by the quality of Hampton Inn. The room was spacious with comfortable mattress and pillows, quiet mini fridge, outstanding bathroom (there was a dual shower head!). Very clean and well taken care of. We would definitely stay there again.

The hotel rooms were comfy, clean, and roomy, however the hot water was tepid at best, almost cold. I called the front desk at 7pm asking them about the hot water and they advised they would send maintenance. Maintenance never came and no call back from front desk by morning.

The only thing we didn’t like was low water pressure.

The first night was horrible. I was put in a room that the AC didn’t work. It was 79° from check-in till the next morning. I asked during the night to be swapped to another room and was told they didn’t have any, the next morning. I talked to the manager and she put me in a room with an a/c. I missed out on a big motorcycle ride because I had zero sleep the night before which was the reason for the stay ! The manager did make it right by refunding one night. As far as comfortable, I wasn’t ,there’s hardly any water pressure( both rooms on fourth floor) and while taking a shower, I had water over my ankles in both bathtubs because they drain extremely slow as does the sinks for some reason. Overall ruined my trip !

Room was very clean. A/C could not be regulated so we sweated all night, even after I contacted the front desk. Shower first scalded me then mid shower went cold. Also, nighttime parking lot security light was shining through the edge of the window curtain reflecting in a mirror directly on my bed. Had to switch sides and face the wall.

New, clean, spacious rooms. Incredibly happy with my stay at the Hampton Inn.

I had a King accessible room with a tub. The blinds in the room were electronic, but they were completely pulled down and no longer worked. I had to roll the blinds up and solidify them with binder clips to see out the window. The bathroom tub had no stopper in it, as the mechanism for the stopper was not there. The blinds have been inoperable for more than a year, as I have stayed in that room before. The clientele that stays at the hotel has diminshed everytime I go there. Red mud is usually seen throughout all the pathways of the hotel and in the elevators, and there are usually a group of workers who sit outside with 12-packs of beer drinking. I don't normally stay at this hotel unless I have nowhere else that is available other than the other hotel that is in town, which is even more undesirable than this place.

The ceiling was extremely high, bathroom top notch (including the anti-fog sensor on the mirror), furnishings very nice --- I did not expect the room to be so nice. The entire front entrance is welcoming, large, and what you'd expect for a higher-end hotel. I didn't feel I paid a higher-end price for my room. A gem, people.

The room was large and quite comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. It was a nice visit.

We stayed 6 nights.The room was excellent when we checked in. They only do housekeeping every other day. We answered the door when they came and through the door we told them we were not ready and to please come back later. They didnt. 2 days later we hung the do not disturb on the door. Again they didn't come back. Durring our entire stay there was no housekeeping. No fresh towels , no vacuuming. No trash pickup other than what we gathered and put outside the door. Would I recommend this hotel. Yes! It's the best Stroud has to offer.and if we had gotten up earlier it probably would have been a perfect stay.

Had to wait a long time on front desk help everytime we went up other then that it was a nice hotel.

Check in was seamless. Dalton was very efficient and had great recommendations for where to eat within walking distance. The room is extremely nice with lots of amenities, places to plug in electronics, comfy and spacious. I couldn't be happier.

Staff was rude and unhelpful. Was not given the room we booked.We were told they were fully booked and tuff we didn't get what we booked and confirmed earlier in the day on our way there. We booked a King suit w/sofa bed.We got a room with two Queen beds nothing else. And they would not provide me with a receipt when we left.

Staff was very polite with a prompt with check in. Facility and rooms are nice and clean the beds are always comfortable. Breakfast is good and this location is convenient to the turnpike. Would definitely stay here again.

This is the 2nd time I've stayed at the Hampton in Stroud and both times it was very clean, the staff was very helpful, and the room was great. Normally i stay with family in Stroud but very happy to have this option when needed.

This hotel is great. The staff was excellent and accommodating every step of our stay. This is a hotel I would come back to.

I wish there was a hotel like this everywhere we travel to. The location is quiet. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. We were so comfortable! Check-in was a breeze. We received such a friendly welcome. The area was safe. If you are in the area, this is a great place to stay.

Great place to stay while driving route 66.

Property was fine but there wasn’t anyplace to eat.

Park at your on risk sign was not encouraging. Breakfast sandwich was inedible and cold.

The hotel looks like it’s going through some remodeling. One elevator was not working. Our room looked semi redone. The beds were extremely comfortable. I did not use the pool but it looked nice. Breakfast was okay. Coffee good! The staff were adequate, going through what needed to do. Not sure if I’d stay there again or drive to the next city.

The facility was very clean and modern and the staff was very friendly and welcoming The breakfast was a feast compared to most hotels.

They serve a great breakfast and the hotel is very spacious, nicley decorated and modern.

The room was really nice; convenient from the Interstate; and check in staff friendly. My only complaint is concerning breakfast. Selection was ok but the real issue is NO COFFEE! Why? It's breakfast. Yes, coffee in the room but didn't think I would need to travel down elevator with a cup to have with breakfast.

Super quiet and good location. Bed could have been firmer for my taste. Speaking of taste breakfast was just ok no biscuits and gravy

Everything was great from the check-in to the breakfast, which was more than we expected. Large bathroom area with a large shower. Bed and pillows were very comfortable and controlling the room temperature was easy and fast. There's a BBQ place a very easy walk from the hotel. My wife said we should always stay at a Hampton because there is consistent quality.

Very clean, comfortable stay. Checkin was fast with friendly service. Beds were very comfortable. Room was quiet. Breakfast was above average for free hotel breakfast.

My family and I absolutely loved this hotel. It was nicely decorated and clean. It was right next to the highway but in a good way. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great with plenty of options. My favorite thing about this hotel is that there is a local woman who hand paints rocks with different characters and leaves them for guests to take with them. I would absolutely recommend this hotel.
