View was awesome, rooms were great, and the amenities were good too. The rooftop bar was nice. We will be coming back.

We love the location of the hotel, and the view of the room. But if your room is to high you will listen the music from the roof top almost all night. Very annoying when you want to sleep. Also it takes so much time to access to your floor with the elevators, as the staff of the hotel using it too…

This is a very nice hotel in the floral district. Clean rooms, shared areas, and friendly staff. Great gym and hotel bar. Good food in walking distance. Convenient to metro and Madison Square Garden. There is a rooftop bar/club so be prepared for thumping music on the weekends. The rooms are smaller than standard hotel rooms but enough space.

Well run, well organized, pleasant and efficient staff. Pleasantly surprised to have the room serviced every day. The elevators are a struggle: tall building, lots of guests, one elevator is always out of service. The button panels (in the lobby and in the elevators) need back-lighting. Everyone had difficulty finding floor numbers in the low light.

Great location. Rooftop bar was amazing. The cafe was handy too although lines were long. Appreciated the $30 credit/day for breakfast/bar! The view from my room was very cool - although the style of the room is different. No closet, or lounging chair and tight space, but it's New York - wasn't a huge problem as I wasn't in the room much. Would definitely stay again!

Clean room overall. Staff was very welcoming and nice. Housekeeping did a great job. Comfy bed. Outstanding view. Only flaw was the bathroom door being a little difficult to open. Needed a bit of a push. But did not ruin any of the experience at all. The room is a bit small but we didn't spend too much time in the room other than sleeping and getting ready. Would definitely recommend and book another stay if I were to visit New York again.

Nicely decorated and beautifully views. Friendly staff. The hotel needs upkeep, our shower was leaking everywhere, there was water damage hole in the ceiling and the air filter was outrageously filthy and none of this was addressed despite our requests. We appreciate the 30$ credit for happy hour. Some cleanliness issues in the room as well but since we didn’t spend too mich time there we overlooked it.

Overall good stay. The elevators are the main reason for the 4 versus 5 star review. The elevators are slow and very crowded at certain times. It’s a long wait at certain times of the day. Our shower also didn’t drain and leaked into floor area outside of shower. It seemed to have been doing that for a while because the floor was warped slightly.

The bathroom in my hotel room had not been cleaned when i checked in. I went down to the lobby and the manager ensured me she would have a member of the cleaning staff take care of it while i waited in the lobby for a half hour. This would have been a good opportunity to apologize or perhaps offer me a drink in the bar but I just sat there bewildered. When i went back to the room, the toilet was still dirty - stains, hair, etc. I go back to the lobby again (no one answers the phone), and I proceed to explain that the room was still dirty. She had me go back upstairs and point out the dirt to her and the cleaning staff. I'm staring a toilet with pubic hairs having to explain that this wasnt clean enough. I've never experienced anything like this in my life - and no apology or taking ownership. I will end by saying the weekend staff was very nice and helpful but this check in process was so rude and disgusting it ruined my entire experience.

The property was fun and cool, but the rooms were a bit dirty. Splatter stains on the doors and behind the beds. The bathroom on the second floor was filthy.

As a single female I stayed for 5 nights here on my own and hotel felt safe. The staff were friendly and helpful. My only criticism would be that the room I stayed in on the 27th floor had some issues. I never reported them while I stayed there so the hotel didn’t have a chance to remedy them. But the design of the shower was poor, the door didn’t close properly and the water was going all over the floor which was damaging the floor of the room. I towelled the water every time and I think it helped. The vinyl tiles were buckling so this problem is likely long standing. There was a damp mouldy smell in the room that was pretty strong. Also it would have been great if we could have an ice maker accessible on the floor. If you want ice you had to call and request a bucket which didn’t stay frozen until morning. Room was clean (minus the smell) and I was high enough that it was fairly quiet. The credit for breakfast was great too although give yourself time to get it as it’s lined up every morning since it’s very good for pastries. Great location since I was able to walk everywhere.

I was generally pleased with the hotel but two areas need work. In my room, the shower door was difficult to close. The shower also drained a bit into the separate toilet area. Second, the elevator was often crowded. It seemed like 1 shaft was having problems. But it regularly took quite long. That said, the rooms were tidy, fairly updated, and had great views.

Although the room was compact, which is expected when staying in a major city, it was well designed and the beds were very comfortable. We did have to change rooms due to the flooring having lifted in the first one, likely caused by a leaking shower door seal. Interestingly, the second room had the same issue, so it seems this may be a recurring problem. Just be sure to keep the bath mat in place by the shower door. Aside from that, the location was excellent, the beds were comfy, and the staff were very friendly. We didn’t try the food at the hotel itself, but the adjacent bakery served good pastries, cakes, and coffee. You even get a daily allowance towards the bill there from the Moxy, which was a nice touch.

Beware of water leaks!! The rooms are very small for the price. Suitable for no more than two people. The bed is large and comfortable, but takes up most of the space. There is an issue with water leaking from showers into the rooms. We experienced this in Room 1208. When we checked in there was some water on the floor near the bed and thought nothing of it. Shortly after a shower, we found that the shower was leaking through the wall and under the floorboards throughout the room. Some of the floorboards were warped and you can see water come out from under when you stepped on them. We made videos, it was that bad. A rep from the front desk came up. He said he would send maintenance (they did not come) and they were sold out so they couldn’t move us until the next day, but we had to check out by noon and re-check in after 4pm. They would move us to a “suite” with a better room and give us back $100. The “suite” was 10sqft larger and did have a better view, but the same exact water leak issues as the previous room, just not as bad. After experiencing two rooms, the lack of maintenance and reading others comments, Moxy knows this is an issue and will sell you the room anyways. I’m sure a rep from Moxy will reply that they will look into the issue and have it escalated and resolved, but this is a design flaw that will require a lot of work on every room in the building. Disappointing after the amount of money spent on the room, especially for a Marriott hotel.

The location is great, the rooms are cozy, and the staff is friendly. The bars (especially the Fleur room) has a breathtaking view (especially at sunset). My only complaint is the design of the room: the toilet and shower are in separate "stalls," and the wash sink is in the main room. (It makes it a big awkward. However, the room is very small and typical for New York.) I would otherwise definitely stay again!

I travel 50-70 days a year. And this area of NYC at least once a month. Room phone didn’t work. Repair person couldn’t fix Two towels for two people. Not enough No refrigerator, no coffee, no iron or board. The one delivered was tiny. No closet. Hangers fell apart. No drawers to unpack. No luggage rack. No coming back. Too many other choices in Herald Sq area

One thing that sucked was the ac would not go lower than 69. Not cool in the summer

The hotel was well-staffed, clean, and centrally located for local attractions. The bars were beautiful spaces, and the rooms, while compact, were fully functional and pleasing.

We had 3 women in a 2 double bed room, and we didn’t feel overly cramped for a quick weekend stay. Manny went above and beyond to help us when we lost an item - he searched the hotel and found it for us. Only complaint is housekeeping never cleaned our room. We saw them cleaning the room next to ours and came back to get ready for dinner excited for made beds and trash removed, etc., so that was a bummer. We would definitely stay here again - would request views of Empire State Building next time. If you are a light sleeper, you may not want one of the highest floor rooms - my friend said she could hear the club’s music (I did not).

Great location - .3 mi from Madison Sq Garden, close to subway. 2 queens room was a bit cramped for 3 ppl.

For NYC, the room was a decent size for 2 to move about in. The design in our room (king bed) utilized space well by having hooks for clothing instead

Very small rooms no closets no drawers no chairs

Super cute, boutique hotel. I really enjoyed myself. Staff was great. Rooms are average sized for NYC but mighty. I stayed solo in a king with a city view and THE VIEW!! 12/10. I think the size is perfect for one and doable with 2 as long as you're neat and orderly. ROOM: comfy bed! I kind of want to know what mattresses they have. No mini fridge but you can request one. My biggest complaint with hotels in general nowadays is that mini fridges now seem to be treated as a "luxury" rather than a given. BATHROOM: I had no problem with water leaking out of the shower like I've read elsewhere so either it's been rectified or other guests shower intensely (??). Oddly, I liked that all 3 bathroom things (sink, shower, toilet) are separated. If there are 2 of you to the room you can do all things without being on top of each other. FOOD: I was booked and busy and unable to visit the rooftop bar; The Fleur Room, but it looks beautiful. Cafe next door was super cute and perfect for a quick breakfast, I just wish they offered plain drip coffee. There are definitely up charges on items (the $2.75 I buy at home was $7) but you're paying for convenience. I visit NYC often so I know what to expect and this is a hotel I would happily return to.

I loved it! They decorated the room for my friends and it looked great!!! Staff are so sweet and everything was very nice!

Stayed for 6 nights. The first 3 nights the tv didn’t work and service needs to be called each night to get it to work. They eventually gave us a new, upgraded room with a great view of the Empire State Building at no additional charge. And also waived the daily “destination fee” for 2 of the days. Excellent customer service and very accommodating. Rooms are quiet. Bed is comfortable. Cleaning is daily. Location is great.

The hotel is beautiful . The staff was nice . They overcharge me for the deposit. No one picks up the phone and the service was not good . The bartender at the lobby bar was amazing though.

Supposed give 4 stars rating since i stay there few times. But this visit was an nightmare from the start at check-in gaven wrong room and key & elevator are extremely slow.

The staff was awesome in accommodating some issues I had. I will definitely be visiting them again.

Absolutely loved our stay here at the moxy. Perfect for a quick weekend trip. Service was great. People were friendly. The Fleur Room is to die for. 10/10 would stay again.

I was going to be there about an hour earlier and had a call to take. So tried to reach them by phone to see if they would let me check in an hour early. Or I would find other quiet location. Nope. You cannot reach them by phone! The super happy bot simply keeps running you in circles and refuses to connect even when it says it's connecting you to a live agent. So if you are in need of assistance or have a question when you are out of the hotel, you are also out of luck. So had to get there in person. When arrived and asked if I could checkin an hour earlier (I had checked the hotel website the same room I had booked was available for sale), the response was a no effort, scripted all check-ins are at 4. No attempt to help or assist. I understand cleaning and all other things but I stay at Marriott hotels on a weekly basis and know the difference between when someone is trying to help you and when they are not. Tried to go to the vibe bar next door so maybe I could sit there. No one would seat me or talk to me for over 10 minutes I was there. I used to like Moxy because of their vibe, but will be skipping them from now on. You cannot run a hotel on groovy vibes alone and you should definitely not be able to operate one without allowing its guests the ability to reach you. And a chirpy bot doesn't count. If they would simply pick up their phone!

I recently stayed at the Moxy Chelsea in NYC and overall had a fantastic experience. The room was comfortable, with an amazing view that was definitely the highlight of the stay. The location is super convenient, just a short walk from the subway and close to many attractions. However, there were a couple of design flaws. The bathroom door didn’t close properly, and water from the shower leaked onto the wood floor, which was a bit inconvenient. Despite these small issues, the overall atmosphere and vibe of the hotel were great, making it a place I’d still recommend for its view and location.

Getting a 2-bed room in NYC is tough. The Moxy was perfect in size & amenities. I also loved the Chelsea location. It provides great access to many of the sights & shows & shopping destinations I crave.

Great location and perfect for a weekend getaway!

Great location, easy walk to subway stations to get pretty much anywhere, and nice to not be trapped in times square. Rooms are small but that’s pretty standard for New York, we had 3 in our room and did fine for space. The room did have water leaking where water was pooling under the floorboards and seeping up through them by the sink, but we just put a towel down and it didn’t cause any issues during our stay - just something for them to look at in the future. The hotel “rooftop” bar was not our favourite place but it was fine, decent view, just felt like they were trying to make it too exclusive. Overall we liked the stay.

My family and I very much enjoyed our visit to New York and our stay at Moxy Chelsea was a key reason for this. The hotel was modern and sparky, and conveniently located for all the main sights, restaurants and leisure activities whether by metro or on foot. Our room was about midway up, affording good views towards the Financial District. It was small but still fairly comfortable, though there was no room for amenities like a kettle or fridge or wardrobe. Elevator service was slow in the mornings and evenings, and the cafe and reception were almost always busy and crowded. But the staff we spoke to were pleasant and helpful in answering our questions.

This property sits in the middle of the Flower District and is central to a lot of amenities in, and around the Chelsea area. Literally loves the stay here.

Convenient to everywhere

Room was very clean and comfortable. Location was a huge bonus and walking distance to many neighborhoods, restaurant and shopping. The view from the room is worth it alone. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Would stay here again!

Beautiful hotel, great location close to Subway

We found this wonderful property at a reasonable price for downtown Manhattan. Convenient to Penn Station and the subways. Great staff and really nice room. Very accommodating with everything. Lots of wonderful local restaurants within blocks. Rooftop lounge/view incredible. Easy breakfast options in hotel.

Fun stay as always at the Moxy. Convenient location, right by two subway lines, and of course walkable to so much. The beds are extremely comfy. The rooftop bar has spectacular views, too. Like with most stays in NYC, though, the rooms are pretty small and the price is pretty high. The "destination fee\' actually buys you credit at the cafe- a plus since most NYC hotels\' fees buy you nothing.

Liked the decor and the proximity to MSG but the cafe and second floor bar are very small and were usually crowded. There is a $30 daily resort fee that they say can be used for credit in the cafe or bar but not very easily. The rooftop bar was challenging to access due to the crowd as well. The Moxy is a very nice one time experience.

The staff was wonderful. The hotel is beautiful. But the Moxy (Marriott) nickels and dimes you every chance they get. $5.00 for in room bottles of water. Most hotels it’s free. A $30 charge each day for the bar and restaurant. You are charged this even if you don’t use the bar or restaurant. $80 for 24 hours for valet parking and you are charged for 24 hours even if the time is less before you leave. You are charges a “Destination fee” of $30 per day which I’m really not sure what that means. On a positive note, the food at the 2nd floor bar/lounge was superb.

This hotel was nice but a bit quirky. It seemed to try a little to hard to be cool - the industrial style bathroom, the loud music in the elevator, and the upstairs club. The rooms were small and lacking in some ammenities like a coffee pot and iron (going downstairs to the back of the cafe to get bitter, lukewarm coffee was not ideal). They said that there was a $20 per day credit for the cafe or bar but I was charged for my latte after I checked out. My sister's room was strange with the sink right inside the door when you walked in. It wasn't a bad experience, but not as relaxing as the other hotel I stayed at earlier in the week (Washington Square Hotel). I don't think that I'd stay at the Moxy again.
