We arrived and everything seemed great. No one was there to meet us but a note was left a the key was in the room. Room was clean and larger than expected. The issues were bed is old, lumpy and breaking Ran out of TP, luckily the owner happens to be there TV is very small with the basic basic channels BIG ISSUE-no hot water. Note said to turn left and wait 2 min. Well it should have said you get 60 seconds a day of hot water. Could not shower, no one was there to tell. Nice place if they could fix the issues it would have been 5/5

I didn't even stay there because the woman on the phone was so rude. I called to see if I could cancel because our plans changed and we were offered a closer option with much less driving involved for the last stage of our trip. At first, she just answered the phone like it was her house and didn't even seem to recognize my reservation. When she finally found it, she said oh yes, the room is ready and waiting for you. I will charge you full price if you cancel now. I thought she was mistaken based on what Expedia said, so I said, "Really? We can't afford both places." And she just became quite rude. I was thinking we should just go there and deal with the driving to avoid the extra $125 for the cancellation cost, but she didn't even give me chance to respond. She just said, "You will be charged in full." And then she hung up on me. When I tried to call back to let her know we would still come, she wouldn't pick up the phone. I tried three times. Finally, my husband called on his phone and managed to get her to leave the key so that we wouldn't bother her at all when we came in at 11pm. We decided it wasn't worth the trouble after all and took the loss. I have never had someone at a hotel be so rude. I certainly was mistaken, but was given no chance to discuss and make a decision. There are so many other lovely places to stay in the area, I don't think this one is worth the lower price. Pay $25 more per night for a better experience in hospitality. Isn't that part of the fun?

Stayed 2 nights

Check-in was easy. There is a list on the door with room #'s. Inn is convenient to Cooperstown and Glimmerglass Opera Festival. Room was spacious. There was no shampoo in the bathroom. Only one washcloth. Several soft spots in the floor. I did not report any of these issues or call for shampoo or another washcloth. Decor was tired looking. Bedding and towels were clean. Parking was right in front of our room. Overall a good place to stay and I will likely return when I am in the area again.
