Big comfortable room, dreamy beds, robes, slippers, and no hotel sinus headache in the morning (you know, that funky sinus thing you get from terrible air filtration even in four star resorts). Even the cozy lobby smells great when you walk in and you're greeted (by the stellar staff) with popcorn and wine/beer. One of the best stays I've ever experienced. I would stay here over a big fancy resort any day! Pro tip: pay the daily fee for parking in the garage across the street.

Lovely hotel with a friendly staff. Good coffee in the mornings with complimentary breakfast. I love how they created a lobby area that invites guests to hang out and slow down with lots of seating, games and reading materials. My only 2 complaints would be the bathroom door doesn’t lock or close completely (sliding door with some gaps) and I had to park across the street in a parking garage. Fun, unique hotel overall though.

The hotel has a very unique feel. Modern mixed with antique. We were greeted with a cocktail and the area to sit and enjoy it was vey comfortable. I did see reviews that talked about the breakfast and I have to say that was a little disappointing, chicken and biscuits were offered every day. It was ok, but nothing but carbs and yogurt offered. Fresh fruit and more protein options would’ve put the breakfast over the top. Overall we enjoyed our stay, just wish that breakfast was a little different.

What a gem of a hotel! Highly recommend! From walking in and the ease of checkin, to snacks and welcome drinks, a stylish lobby filled with games to play, the friendliest snacks, clean room stocked with luxury amenities, to the yummiest breakfast and easiest checkout. I could go on and on! Loved my time at this hotel! Very well thought out and executed!

The hotel itself is fine, but, there is a but. This is a converted store of some sort and there there are really no windows of any consequence other than in the lobby (store front). I had the most expensive room and the window was tiny and had a view of parking lot pavement and a car tire. I guess it was a parking garage next door. I kept the shades closed. The room itself was high quality materials and furnishings. Brick walls. Nice fixtures. Decent linens. Perfectly spotlessly clean in my room and the hotel. As clean as any place I have been.. Comfortable bed that was super high quality as good as any bed I have slept on. They have two vending machines and nothing else. The area seemed sketchy and no way a single woman should be walking around there at night. I was on guard the whole time.. Typical downtown off of the main street. Pretty deserted. One vegan place and one sandwich shop on the block (not open at night).. Everything else is a couple of blocks away along Main Street. Staff was pleasant. No issues overall.

Positives - Such a unique stay from start to finish. Typically I stay at a different hotel for business trips. What I thought was unfortunate, has now become a hidden gem. Each area is uniquely decorated with art or pieces of historical reference. I received a completely drink upon arrival. The staff is phenomenal - very pleasant and engaging. The room and bathroom was very clean and decorated nicely. The room even had a ceiling fan. Surprisingly, it is much cheaper than my usual hotel. Negatives - Either my neighbor had their TV really loud or the wall is thin. You do have to pay $10 for parking and there is limited parking. However, there is a parking garage across the street and a few spots upfront for loading/unloading. Overall, I will definitely stay here again for next trip.

The room wasn’t ready. I feel like someone actually lived in the room we were staying in. There were pairs, yes multiple pairs of shoes left behind. There were pubic hairs left in the shower and bathroom. Fridge wouldn’t close. There were so many sirens ALL night. Did I say all night? I meant ALL NIGHT. Not a great night of sleep.

We enjoyed our stay in Trundle. The staff are great and also made my request possible for my husband's birthday. Maybe just next time, we can please make the checkin faster? I think I've waited for almost 20 minutes before I was able to talk to the reception. Also, the breakfast pastries are cold and a bit hard. Please also clean the ceiling fan as you can see it's full of dust just by looking up. But this is recommended if you want to have a quick stay for maybe a night or two.

In the past, we stayed here often and it was amazing. However, this trip was different. The room was comfortable, but the attention to the details (which you expect from a boutique hotel) was missing. We went to place the bath mat on the floor and it was ragged on all sides. The first replacement they were going to give us was not much better. Finally we did get a decent one. However, I was disappointed that such an obvious quality control was neglected. They have also changed the brand of their toiletries which seem to be of a much lower quality. This went from a five star review for us in the past to a three star today. I was disappointed that we spent money for a quality stay and did not get it.

Eclectic. Different. Cramped. There is parking, but it’s across the street in another building. Farmer's market on Saturday on Main Street was cool. We found an empty bottle behind the nightstand in our room though. I saw it when I went to plug in my phone. Staff were meh… they didn’t really seem to go above and beyond. They were friendly, but I only saw them at the from desk when I came downstairs. They didn’t seem to be doing anything else. Some were not in any uniform attire which was a little confusing at times. Overall, it was an okay stay, just a little different from most big box hotels.

5 Stars – A Gem in Columbia! From the moment I arrived (pretty late at night), I was greeted by Jess at the front desk who immediately made me feel at home. She got me checked in quickly, shared helpful info about the hotel, assisted with parking, and even offered me a drink and snack to settle in—such a thoughtful touch! The hotel itself is absolutely charming—chic, colorful, cozy, and full of happy vibes the second you step through the door. My room was immaculate (cleanliness: 10/10), with beautiful décor, comfy slippers, a plush robe, and gorgeous artwork that made it feel special. The bedding deserves its own shoutout—I slept so well, it felt like being wrapped in a cloud. Amenities? Another 10/10! In the morning, I enjoyed the complimentary breakfast and got some work done in the stylish lobby, which was the perfect atmosphere for a “working breakfast.” I also loved the quiet hours (10 PM–7 AM), which made my stay extra peaceful and restorative. This hotel really has everything: personality, comfort, and genuine hospitality. I just loved the high ceiling in my room (about 12 or 13 feet tall)! Everything about the decor of the room was lovely and unique (the headboards on the beds, the lighting and the exposed brink wall). It was a nice surprise to have an empty mini fridge and a microwave, as well as the accurate thermostat to fine tune the temperature in the room. It was very quiet and the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. I'll definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.

Breakfast delivered to your room, within walking distance to restaurants and shopping. Parking in the garage across the street was easy. Walls are thin… could hear the TV’s in the rooms next to us and voices at some early hours. Other than that it was perfect and I’d stay here again! Definitely recommend!

Lovely hotel if you want to try something new. However, I found it to be rather noisy. I was in a room facing the street and it just wasn't conducive to a relaxing weekend. Also, the flags out in front of the building were loud enough to disrupt sleep in strong winds. Lots of banging noises at 7:30 am on a day I planned to sleep in. Beautiful room, but the bathroom had a rather funky smell. It reminded me of the lingering smell of bad body odor. Also, be very careful of wearing the hotel slippers on any tiled surfaces. I almost had a serious fall. The hotel staff were lovely! The welcome drink and popcorn upon check in was nice too. It was my birthday and there was a nice card and chilled wine in room. This is the kind of place you check into if you're in town to have a good time, but not if you want a peaceful restful stay.

My only 2 complaints would be the bathroom door doesn’t lock or close completely (sliding door with some gaps) and I had to park across the street in a parking garage. The hotel itself is fine, but, there is a but. This is a converted store of some sort and there there are really no windows of any consequence other than in the lobby (store front). I had the most expensive room and the window was tiny and had a view of parking lot pavement and a car tire. I guess it was a parking garage next door. I kept the shades closed. The room itself was high quality materials and furnishings. Brick walls. Nice fixtures. Decent linens. Perfectly spotlessly clean in my room and the hotel. As clean as any place I have been.. Comfortable bed that was super high quality as good as any bed I have slept on. They have two vending machines and nothing else. The area seemed sketchy and no way a single woman should be walking around there at night. I was on guard the whole time.. Typical downtown off of the main street. Pretty deserted. One vegan place and one sandwich shop on the block (not open at night).. Everything else is a couple of blocks away along Main Street. Staff was pleasant. No issues overall.

I was in town for a wedding. The hotel definitely has a retro boutique vibe to it. The lobby was beautiful and vibrant! Even though the rooms did match the photos on site for the most part; it did not capture the true room itself. The room was very dark and not much natural lighting. The bathroom was spacious but again the lighting was not great. The only real issue I had was the A/C not working well. I was told it was really hot outside and the A/C just could not keep up. They moved me to another room but it was the same issue. Thank goodness they did have a really good ceiling fan that helped me make it through! The front desk staff were super sweet but unfortunately the air conditioning just could not be fixed while I was there.

Hotel Trundle has the coziest vibe inside. Once you walk inside for check in you are greeted and provided with a complementary choice of a glass of wine or beer as well as a bag of caramel popcorn. The staff from the front desk to housekeeping were exceptional and friendly. My wife and I are a same sex couple and we were treated just as anyone else would be and for us that is refreshing. We were comfortable being ourselves and not judged which unfortunately we have experienced elsewhere. We will absolutely return to Hotel Trundle anytime we visit Columbia!

Positives - Such a unique stay from start to finish. Typically I stay at a different hotel for business trips. What I thought was unfortunate, has now become a hidden gem. Each area is uniquely decorated with art or pieces of historical reference. I received a completely drink upon arrival. The staff is phenomenal - very pleasant and engaging. The room and bathroom was very clean and decorated nicely. The room even had a ceiling fan. Surprisingly, it is much cheaper than my usual hotel. Negatives - Either my neighbor had their TV really loud or the wall is thin. You do have to pay $10 for parking and there is limited parking. However, there is a parking garage across the street and a few spots upfront for loading/unloading. Overall, I will definitely stay here again for next trip.

The hotel was very cute and eclectic. The area is fine, but a little depressed. Our room was across the street from a hospital, so it was a little loud with the sirens overnight. Parking can be a little annoying, but overall we’d stay there again

Great Hotel to stay at if you're looking for something with a unique touch and a friendly staff. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. The location was great and puts you in walking distance of great restaurants, the Township Auditorium, and Museum of Art. When we travel back to Columbia this will be the place we will stay.

We stayed at Hotel trundle for an admitted student day at South Carolina. The staff are wonderful and welcoming, and the large, cozy & sunny lobby was a great place to sit during some downtime. The rooms are a nice size with a well-sized bathroom. It’s location offered a perfect place to stay for easy access to good restaurants and to visit the soda city market on Saturday mornings. There is easy access to hotel parking or a lot for a reasonable price across the street. We walked to campus for the activities we needed to go to, but it may be too far for some. My only critique is that it is close to a hospital downtown and there were some ambulance noises in the night, but I feel that all of the positives outweigh that negative.

Love the eclectic style of the interior design. Staff is very nice and accommodating. I stayed in an extended stay room with a loft layout and it was very spacious. However I would not recommend the hotel for an extended stay. Would be nice for a weekend stay. Kitchen and related equipment is limited and no closet for clothes. Also the location isn’t great so a car is needed to get to decent restaurants and entertainment. The cost for parking at the hotel is overpriced and limited number of spaces.

The hotel has a very unique feel. Modern mixed with antique. We were greeted with a cocktail and the area to sit and enjoy it was vey comfortable. I did see reviews that talked about the breakfast and I have to say that was a little disappointing, chicken and biscuits were offered every day. It was ok, but nothing but carbs and yogurt offered. Fresh fruit and more protein options would’ve put the breakfast over the top. Overall we enjoyed our stay, just wish that breakfast was a little different.

What a gem of a hotel! Highly recommend! From walking in and the ease of checkin, to snacks and welcome drinks, a stylish lobby filled with games to play, the friendliest snacks, clean room stocked with luxury amenities, to the yummiest breakfast and easiest checkout. I could go on and on! Loved my time at this hotel! Very well thought out and executed!

Beautiful ambiance and decor and overall a wonderful place to stay. Close to everything and convenient with all amenities. My only wish is that they had healthier breakfast choices like fresh eggs or some gluten-free options and plain yogurt without sugar-filled ones, please.

Adorable little place. Very clean and sweet staff. Only downside was the breakfast included stated cook to order and it was not. Very minimal options, even less than your typical continental breakfast at most hotels. But otherwise cannot complain
