Overnight stay and what a little gem this place is . Small and lively pub fairly central to skipton . We didn’t eat an evening meal there but the menu and food we saw served looked excellent . The breakfast was freshly cooked, delicious and plentiful , with several options.available . No parking but we managed to get an on the road space an I believe there is a long stay car park near by but I’m not sure how far away it is . The staff were all very helpful and friendly , and the room we stayed in was clean and comfortable . I wouldn’t hesitate in staying again or recommending it to friends/family

Good location for skipton centre, canal towpath at the end of the street. We enjoyed a drink in the bar, all the staff were very friendly especially the breakfast chef.

The Railway is situated on the outskirts of the Town Centre, but only a 5 minute walk away. The staff were very friendly & welcoming, the beer on tap was exceptional! The rooms, although small, were clean & comfortable; the breakfast provided, which is included in the price, was excellent. The only slight issue was the availability of parking; street parking is scarce, you just need to be lucky; however, there is a car park close by, which, if you park to the far right-hand side, provides a short walk to the property. The car park is chargeable, although not expensive, but is free between the hours of 18:00 to 09:00. Overall, a great place to stay & great value for money!

I stayed at the Railway for two nights when in Skipton for a running event. The room was very comfortable and good value - full breakfast included was a bonus and I was able to have something light the morning of the run and the full breakfast the following day. The staff were all friendly and helpful. I didn’t eat there in the evenings but the menu looked good and it was busy both nights which is always a good sign. There is no parking but the car park up the road is really reasonable (£5.50 per day) so I just left the car there. I would definitely stay there again if back in Skipton.

Emailed with a query before our stay, wasn't answered. On day of departure asked if we could pick our case up later, was told no. Had to wheel it around Skipton for two hours before our train. Disappointing that the pub closed so early on a Sunday.

Check in was quick & very professional. The carpet leading to the rooms and in the rooms is very tired and dirty. The room was a really good size with a beautiful clean bed. Bathroom is also a good size. Breakfast was cooked to order. Yoghurt & fruit would be a good choice too.

This is still a nice place to stay, however it's starting to look a little bit tired. The carpets could do with a really good clean and the window in our bedroom didn't shut properly which would have been okay in summer but it was very cold. Breakfast was very good and the bar is comfortable.

This is a hidden gem.Nor right in the centre of Skipton but only a few minutes walk.Lovly welcome on arrival.Quick and efficient check-in.Very secure accomodation as you needed a key to enter in the evenings A lovely lady took us to the room.Absolutley spotless.Tea and coffee making facilities and nice biscuits!!One of the comfiest beds I've ever slept in and the cleanest most well ironed sheets I've ever seen.When we went down to breakfast we were greeted and offered tea or coffee. A nice continental selection and a menu to.orxer hot food.I had an omelette and my husband had the full English.Piping hot and fresh.So.much nicer than a big hotel where food is left out.If your staying in Skipton don't miss this little hidden gem.Very wellmanaged establishment .Lovely staff that management should be very proud of.Happy staff happy team.

The positives include cleanliness, a comfortable bed, good shower and hot water, location, storage of luggage when we arrived early. About our arrival...the phone number outside the building is useful as it doesn't open until 12.00 (pub hours, we were told), and of course, check-in was not until 2.00. However, it is fairly usual for places to have information about leaving luggage if no one is going to be there. We were grateful that Julie was and took care of this for us. Eventual check in was slow because the staff were attending to the bar as well, and we had to wait for this. We were helped with the luggage up a fairly narrow and steep staircase. The room met all our requirements, apart from no desk for using a laptop. However, there were two comfortable chairs, a bonus. Tea, coffee and biscuits were available. Breakfast was served in a pleasant room, and the cooked breakfast was generous. Some items were missing from the yoghurt/cereal offerings, with little fruit on the first day, and no fruit or yoghurt on the second. Housekeeping was a bit limited on the second day (bed not remade, no fresh towels). So, lovely staff, good room with comfortable bed, and great location. But I was disappointed after seeing the excellent reviews posted earlier on the site.

Hotel was small and compact. Everything about it was great. The breakfast chef made the effort to get to know our breakfast order and was able to remember this throughout our stay. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Bathroom was compact but contained everything we needed. The pub was lovely and welcoming.

The Railway was in a great location. Check in was smooth but little information given apart from access and breakfast between 8 & 9am which felt too early, especially as we were away for a relaxing trip. The room was basic and very dated. The bathroom was tatty but clean. The bedroom was very small and the bed incredibly uncomfortable where we could feel the springs. Checkout was 10am which we were not told about so we googled it and it said 11am, however we were called to say check out was actually 10am. Breakfast was mediocre and a long wait. We wouldn’t return but did enjoy Skipton.

Very friendly staff. Excellent food- thank you chefs. Comfy clean room. Friendly atmosphere. Convenient for shops, train station and buses. We were above the bar but didn't really hear any noise. (The bar closed 10pm at the latest) Road works had just started on the street but as we were out during the day it didn't affect us. Always managed to get a parking slot on the street. If we were to suggest improvements it would be to have a couple of shelves in the bathroom and a light above the bathroom mirror. We would certainly recommend this lovely little pub. A BIG Thank you to all at The Railway.

Had a lovely stay, the staff were fantastic. I'm not sure the ladies name but she made me feel very welcome. Also Dave at breakfast was amazing, very friendly and helpful. The staff definitely made the stay worthwhile.

The positives include cleanliness, a comfortable bed, good shower and hot water, location, storage of luggage when we arrived early. About our arrival...the phone number outside the building is useful as it doesn't open until 12.00 (pub hours, we were told), and of course, check-in was not until 2.00. However, it is fairly usual for places to have information about leaving luggage if no one is going to be there. We were grateful that Julie was and took care of this for us. Eventual check in was slow because the staff were attending to the bar as well, and we had to wait for this. We were helped with the luggage up a fairly narrow and steep staircase. The room met all our requirements, apart from no desk for using a laptop. However, there were two comfortable chairs, a bonus. Tea, coffee and biscuits were available. Breakfast was served in a pleasant room, and the cooked breakfast was generous. Some items were missing from the yoghurt/cereal offerings, with little fruit on the first day, and no fruit or yoghurt on the second. Housekeeping was a bit limited on the second day (bed not remade, no fresh towels). So, lovely staff, good room with comfortable bed, and great location. But I was disappointed after seeing the excellent reviews posted earlier on the site.

Very friendly staff. Excellent food- thank you chefs. Comfy clean room. Friendly atmosphere. Convenient for shops, train station and buses. We were above the bar but didn't really hear any noise. (The bar closed 10pm at the latest) Road works had just started on the street but as we were out during the day it didn't affect us. Always managed to get a parking slot on the street. If we were to suggest improvements it would be to have a couple of shelves in the bathroom and a light above the bathroom mirror. We would certainly recommend this lovely little pub. A BIG Thank you to all at The Railway.

Really good location, room was a good size and clean, breakfast was lovely and they accommodated gluten and dairy free intolerances. Parking free on the street outside and enjoyed being so close to the canal for walks, which were lovely.

The Railway is situated on the outskirts of the Town Centre, but only a 5 minute walk away. The staff were very friendly & welcoming, the beer on tap was exceptional! The rooms, although small, were clean & comfortable; the breakfast provided, which is included in the price, was excellent. The only slight issue was the availability of parking; street parking is scarce, you just need to be lucky; however, there is a car park close by, which, if you park to the far right-hand side, provides a short walk to the property. The car park is chargeable, although not expensive, but is free between the hours of 18:00 to 09:00. Overall, a great place to stay & great value for money!

Check in was quick & very professional. The carpet leading to the rooms and in the rooms is very tired and dirty. The room was a really good size with a beautiful clean bed. Bathroom is also a good size. Breakfast was cooked to order. Yoghurt & fruit would be a good choice too.

Every single staff person I interacted with was extraordinarily kind and helpful. Breakfast and dinner were delicious, my room clean and comfy, and the location is within a 10-minute's easy walk (even whilst rolling my suitcase behind me) from the Skipton Railway station and downtown shopping/attractions. The food, beer, atmosphere, and location all contributed to a very enjoyable stay.

Everything was perfect, shown to our room that was spotlessly clean, well maintained and had everything we needed, the bed was very comfortable, fresh milk in a cooling jug was brought straight from the fridge for our coffee in the morning. The staff were extremely helpful. The cooked breakfast in the morning was delicious. Everything was perfect for our stay and would definitely use again. Thank you x
