Location was good for my trip. Large room. Clean large pool. Pretty views of mountains. Comfortable bed, good AC. Felt very safe. Family friendly. Frig in room. No microwave. Advertises jacuzzi, lounge neither open. Check in process was pretty old fashioned. Mostly handwritten, line backed up as only one on duty. But friendly just took longer. Pool was hard to find. Since I had asked how late it was open would have nice to be told where it was. It was very hidden away no where near my room. Had to go ask where it was. Did have pool towels in pool area. Curtains blow up and a bit open while AC runs maybe add some weights to bottom of them? No food options too close but gas station, conveience store next door.

Jacuzzi lusted on website and signage on front of hotel. No jacuzzi. Pool was closed due to chemicals. Staff was very friendly, rooms are dated but clean.

Chose this place because it had a pool for me and the grands. Great big pool. We loved it. Check in and out were efficient, desk staff and owner pleasant. Nice places to eat in nearby Marlington, particularly the Rivertown Cafe.

Parking was good, staff friendly, but room was very dated. Had to level the refrigerator because of the noise. Could hear people walking upstairs. Also advertised as having a restaurant and lounge which are no longer open.

Excellent service. my room was missing its remote & the gentleman came right over with a new one and programmed it. The pool was outstanding & very clean. i just wish the jacuzzi was working as advertised.

We very much enjoyed our stay at this classic motor lodge just outside of Marlinton. Good value, friendly staff, easy check-in and check-out. A great stay for the price in a beautiful area. The Beds were very comfortable and the room had lots of space. Clean and everything worked as it should.

The room was clean and very spacious . The problem was the smell. I smelled musty and old. Also I had to kill a roach that was on the dresser. We had to put our suit case back in the car overnight. We checked the closet and the drawers in the dresser, but did not find anymore bugs.

This is a rather old hotel with wood paneling... but very clean and well maintained. The showers were awesome, high volume, great pressure and hot.... great after a long day!

Our stays here are normally great, but this one had some problems. We spotted 2 cockroaches in the room, and the mini-fridge (on its lowest setting) froze two of our drinks solid and ruined them. The room was otherwise clean.

Room was dirty - crumbs on table, night stands & floor, hair on toilet & bathtub. None of us would even shower there. Bed was like a board, and both my husband's feet and my own hung off the bed. Staff was friendly, but super busy, and not there when we tried to check out in the morning. Had to ring the bell multiple times to get assistance. Cost for the night was pricey, considering.

An older motel wirh easy parking at the door. Spacious rooms, hot water and clean towels. Room had a nice view of the mountains. We spemt five nights using it to ride the Greenbrier Trail 3. 5 miles in downtown Marlinton.

I typically don't choose motels for my stay, but I gave this a chance based on location, price & reviews. Overall I had a good stay, but here's some pros & cons. Cons: Outdated room & furniture Small television Not many outlets/no usb ports No microwave Hard pillows Toilet took forever to fill Pros: Clean clean clean Ice cold mini fridge Good closet space Plenty of parking Lounge with food on property Just 3 miles from downtown Marlinton Although it's not a modern place, it's a clean & safe place to stay and I'll stay here again.

The room was nice clean and updated. However other hotel guests camped out along the front of the motel playing cards late into the night rather than doing so in the motel rooms. We could hear them talking and laughing. Our room was on the ground floor. We could hear the floor or bed creaking every time the hotel guests in the room above us moved and it was very loud and made it difficult to fall asleep when combined with the guests outside our door playing cards. Out-dated, uncomfortable bed and pillows. 1970's vintage motel. No frills, a lot of rooms but nothing fancy. Nice, hot showers. Clean towels.

Don’t judge a book by its cover—the outside of this old style motor court may not look too inviting and maybe appears a bit shabby—but the rooms are large, super clean and there’s a great view of the mountains out the room’s rear-facing picture window. Very comfy beds. microfridge and coffee maker, but the only microwave is located in the lobby (?). Fast, free internet worked well. Nice looking swimming pool but closed for the season. It’s directly on the highway yet I heard no traffic noise at all. Desk clerk checking me in needs to learn how to smile and not act so gruff and irritable. Can’t beat the price per night, therefore this fact made me ignore the admittedly spartan environment. Restaurants are a few miles away in March tin (the Greenbrier Grille or Alfredo’s Italian are okay, nothing to write home about, but adequate). Beautiful mountain scenery!

Pretty old, but well maintained motel. Big rooms. Small bathroom. Friendly stuff. Sometimes shady guests. But mostly people are nice. I usually stay here when I come to ski at Snowshoe or run some trails or GBRT Marathon.

I waited for over 30 minutes to check out and still no one was there. I had to leave the key at the office entrance door. I took photos to prove it was after 7:30 and the sign said it would be open from 7:00 an to 11pm.

Loved coming here for the night! Despite seeming like an older motel, it's definitely worth it still. Internet access is good, the beds are comfy enough, and the staff are quick and kind. If I'm ever down this way again, I'd love to stay the night again!

Only real option if you are planning a quick ski trip to Snowshoe. Very outdated, Bring your own toiletries. Be prepared, restaurant and lounge are permanently closed, no place to eat. It says jacuzzi but there is none. Staff incredibly unhelpful and disinterested. Too bad, could be a great place.

Marlington Motor Inn has a very convenient location close to Snowshoe Mountain, Cass Scenic Railroad and Watoga Lake, Green Bank Observatory, The Greenbrier Hotel, Greenbrier River trail, and many other attractions in WV. Staff is very friendly and helpful as well. At their bar you can find good food and good fun. Definitely a great place to consider when visiting the area.

This was my second stay at the Marinton motor lodge. Great location if looking to go skiing at Snowshoe (30 min drive).Very quaint and quiet place. The rooms are just right. Plain and simple with a cabin like appeal. The only thing I wish were the bar/restaurant would be open more days than just Thur/Fri/Sat. Other than that I will definitely be back to stay again.

Staff very cordial and helpful. They only serve bar food on the weekends, hence, the reason I rated some areas as a 4. They are in the process of opening up the pool and patio area. It was too chilly in the evening to consider the pool. The water pressure in the shower was the best I have ever experienced. Yes. I would stay there again!

The hotel is older, but the rooms were clean. I was concerned about road noise, but there was none. The beds weren't very comfortable--they were quite hard. It would have been nice if they offered a breakfast of some kind.
