Moxy NYC Downtown

Stay was alright. Great location but so much construction you can't get an Uber or Lyft. Fire alarm went off at 4am. Room so small, wide hips folks will have issues getting around the hanging chair. Blankets thin. Elevators to go up to the room elevator lobby only work half the time. Bar area is blaring. Staff is awesome but hotel is not worth the price.

The hotel is huge but with check in at 4:00 being so late, long lines to check in, with tiny space and only two staff scrambling to move the crowd. Then there’s the elevator situation: the lobby elevator only goes to The 3rd floor bar and then you have to Pick your way around the bar area to find the REAL elevators to the rooms. Three elevators and very very slow to pick up People on the 3rd floor bar level. Dumb design.

The basketball, Skee ball and other games were awesome. Beautiful bar/pub space. Modern, young, hip feel. Very close to tons of restaurant/cafe options. We also loved the view of the Brooklyn Bridge from in front of the elevators on our floor.

The staff was absolutely amazing!! From the front desk to the bar... just top notch!! What I didn't like was that I couldn't get an uber pick up at the door which was an inconvenience. I will come back! But this needs to be addressed!

Rooms were nice! Construction in front of hotel..road closed in front of hotel..had to get transportation a block away!!

$700 a night with no car access to the front lobby to drop bags and check in. We had to park 4 blocks away snd shlep our bags to the lobby. Old, squeaky elevators that seemed on the verge of breaking and no communication from the manager when I complained about the parking sitch. Of all the places to stay in nyc there is absolutely no reason to stay at this Moxy.

The elevators do not work properly and it took forever to get up and down stairs.

My partner and I stayed there for three nights and every single day, their elevator to the lounge was broken so we had to walk up and down the stairs. It was constantly out of service which was really inconvenient after being out all day, and on top of that we had to pay additional fees per night for amenities we didn’t even use. The location itself is convenient as it’s two minutes away from a subway station, but the elevator service ruined it for me. Especially because you had to take multiple elevators to your room, and they took forever to arrive.

Very cute hotel with a vibe, room was very comfortable. Staff very friendly and helpful, shower floor in the bathroom of my room was absolutely disgusting, other than that everything great.

I like the decor, the aesthetic of the hotel. However room service never came to clean the 3 days we were there. We literally had to call 2 out of 3 the nights we stayed for fresh rags and towels. At one point when we called it was almost like room service was annoyed with us asking so they hung up, so we had to wait over a hour for it. If I haven’t called again saying we still didn’t received, we wouldn’t have gotten it. There’s no fridge so if you get a drink you better finish it. Other than that the hotel is nice. Bar is nice and the dj was definitely good very versatile with the music. And the lil games was a nice touch.

Clean room, friendly service and comfortable bed. Rooms are minimalistic, but functional.

We appreciate the boutique nature of this hotel. Our room was less than great. If you have a shy bladder, the paper thin bathroom walls aren't helpful. We had to crank up music in the bathroom so we didn't hear each other doing our business. There is a creepy view window that's covered by a painting but anyone outside the bathroom can move and watch you doing anything and everything in the bathroom. My wife found a contact lens and finger nail on the floor from the previous(?) occupant. DId they sweep or just push the dust around. Bar downstairs was pretty cool. Skeeball is always fun.

I had a weekend stay at Moxy and despite the rooms are awfully small, they are not clean at all. Dust everywhere, floors were nasty and muddy. Not happy with the overall experience

Room was small but most are in NYC. Room and hotel was very clean, staff was nice, coffee was good, food was good and the 80’s arcade game machine in bar area was great! Room safe is in a drawer under the bed. They will provide a fridge upon request.

Great location, very clean other than someone else’s hair in the shower. Someone’s initials were carved into the headboard, lamp was missing on one side of the headboard, you could see that the top part of the swing was not connected all the way.

Beds were not comfortable at all. Curtains a little stained as well. Other than that the hotel was ok

Very small rooms, no refrigerator iron or microwave. Extremely basic. Beds aren’t super comfy like other hotels. Limited elevators with such a high volume of people. Small front desk long check in and check out

We loved it. Although the rooms are very, very small and there isn't any space to leave a big suitcase, we loved it!

We book a hotel in NYC every week. This hotel, while decent, is certainly not four star as rated. It was clean, but very tiny, more so than other NYC rooms, and certainly not an above grade experience. Average, three star would be accurate. Two notable very weird things: There is a picture on the wall that, surprise!, slides away to reveal a glass window that let’s one peer into the bathroom! What kind of pervert thought this was a good idea? The bathroom itself was fine, although the door did not stay shut. No closet, just hooks on a wall.

I loved staying at Moxy. It was very quiet throughout the night and the place is squeaky clean. The staff are friendly. The room is well appointed (AC works great, the lights and window blinds works great), but there's no small fridge or microwave. Overall, 9/10, minus the fridge and microwave.

Overbooked and left us stranded because they gave our room away that we booked in advance to people booking a room the same day. We checked our bags ant the front desk before our check in time and they still gave our room away. Very bad experience.

Our stay was great. Check in was at 4:00 pm and the hotel was running behind due to late check outs. They were very communicative through the process and we ended up getting into our room 40 minutes after the initial time. Because of that inconvenience, they gave us an upgrade on the room and complimentary late check out.

Awesome hotel with even better staff, especially the staff at the front desk. We want to give a huge shout out to Kiona, Charles, Grace, Isaac, and Lynnibell. They were amazing. We stayed from July 2-5th and everything was wonderful. Thanks again.

I stayed here over the weekend and was so impressed with the over the top friendly service and how beautiful the hotel was. My view was amazing. Justin and Malik were so helpful when I actually lost my phone in a cab with using their phone and accessing the lost my phone app. (I found it!) They were caring and understanding and I couldn’t have asked for nicer staff throughout my stay. I will be back when I visit the city again. Thank you so much!

Overall great stay, had to call several times to get a hold of someone on the phone before, during, and after my stay. Never received a refund for the remaining balance for my incidental fee.

Staff are incredible, location is perfect, always a vibe in the bar area, just a wonderful stay.

Woke up late due to a long night of working, asked them to extend room 3 times was on hold 2 times finally they said to come down and I tapped my Apple Pay to extend, I leave and a couple hours later return to them saying I can’t stay there and I’m banned for literally no reason they withheld our stuff for over and hour with keys not working to open door, even the security felt bad for us. The manager Justin is terrible and needs to get this together

This has been the second Moxy in a row for us that really missed the mark. My main issue was with the check-in. Moxy is usually great emailing you to basically complete the "pre check in" process so that your actual check in is quick when arriving. We filled out all the online info and advised we would be arriving around 2pm. This was around 12pm. The online form advised to give the hotel an hour to prepare for our arrival. We would receive a text message once our room was ready. Once we arrived, we we attempted to check in. We were told our room was not quite ready but to give them 45 minutes. We would receive a text message. We decided to drop our things off and head to eat. We were gone at least two hours without any sort of text or call. Once we arrived back, the line at the counter was incredibly long. The staff advised there was a second check in counter on the second floor. We tried that to be met with an even longer line. When we went back downstairs, the line grew even longer. Overall, it just felt like the staff had no sense of urgency, did not really apologize for the lack of communication not only with the guests but with each other. We didn't end up getting into our room for about an hour. The saving grace here was the hotel bar area. They have an incredible happy hour and a really great game area that is free. Rooms are your typical small Moxy room where you can hear everything in neighboring rooms. LASTLY - our sliding bathroom door came off the trac

My stay was good, check out and. Service from the manager was terrible. I am not one to make a big deal of stuff but I don’t get that when a customer asks you to explain and break down what they believe and have been told by your assistant manager and others to be an incorrect charge. To not try to explain throughly, to be rude and dismissive, and to offer what you feel is a resolution. After calling for months, sending emails with no response. I would recommend you book somewhere else, property is nice need better management.

They don't tell you that they will charge you a mandatory fee for a bar voucher before you can check in. We paid just to be able to check in and called to see if it could be refunded since we didn't plan on going to the bar. The staff said they would refund it and never did, I've since called 3 more times, each time telling me they'll refund it and it's never gone through and once hung up on me. Left a bad taste.

Excellent location, amenities and hospitality. Will definitely return in the future.

Great location

Location is fantastic! So close to the OneWorld Trade Center, shops, restaurants , coffee shops and the Brooklyn Bridge. Staff went above and beyond to accomodate our requests, very friendly! Amenities are very family oriented (a plus for us) but work well for adults too, hotel was very clean, we'll definitely return to The Moxy!

Great location

A lot quieter than many hotels - no disturbances. Close to Fulton St subway, so easy connections to both uptown and JFK airport. The next time we're in NY - this is where we want to stay.

Staff was very helpful and amazing. I understand Moxy’s are “party hotels,” but the DJ was blasting music at 3:00 pm and you could not sit in lobby and have a conversation. That should be later in the day and complimentary coffee is expected in every hotel I have stayed in.

This is the second Moxy we stayed in. The room was .NY small, but manageable and well layed out. Staff were friendly. The financial district is not the most exciting part of the city, but lots od ahops and small restaurants. The give you $25 per day per rooom credit for bar, food, etc..ot doesnt go far, but it helps. Lounge/bar is a real plus with games you can play like skeeball, foosball, Uno, etc. I recommend when you can get itbat a good price.

The hotel was clean and comfortable. There was no coffee in the lobby or room. There was a $50/night resort fee which could be applied towards breakfast, which wasn't particularly good and service was slow and terrible. Even getting a coffee was difficult!

Property is very basic and the rooms have no wardrobes which is inconvenient. We only had housekeeping once over 5 days as well. The main concern is that the service in the restaurant/bar area is terrible (takes 20 mins to get a drip coffee) and the food is basic.

The weather was so rainy. We stayed in at the bar. The food, the drink, the dj and games kept us entertained and happy! The service , food and drinks were EXCELLENT!! Thank you for a wonderful stay.
