Yarrow Hotel

This was my old college 40 years ago so it was a trip down memory lane and lovely to see it put to good use. Great large room had everything you want except some draw space & maybe some coat hooks plenty of room to fit them in. Breakfast was ok but would be nice to have more of a waiting service. Shame the bar closed at 10pm when you just come back from a night out & the coffee machine is turned off for cleaning well before 10pm, these are all minor things & I would return again.

Excellent value, friendly and helpful staff and good quality breakfast. My only disappointment was the Bar closed at 10pm!!!!

Always a very warm welcome nothing is too much trouble for the staff. Lovely quiet location with great parking. 10 min walk to the beach, shops, restaurants and bars of Broadstairs

Great place to stay, staff very attentive rooms clean and quiet the breakfast was excellent, the only downside was we had to go out for dinner as we were unaware, until we booked in that the restaurant was not open as they had a function, ?

The staff are incredible, always welcoming and friendly. The hotel is located in an old building which has been very well maintained and taken care of, the decor is classic but still modern, the facilities in general are good and the room we stayed in a lot of space and a very comfortable bed. I booked a room for 3 pax with a sofa-bed. We assumed the sofa-bed would be made before we arrived, but it wasn't. There were also only 2 sets of towels, 2 bottles of water, 2 glasses... So I think they forgot there was going to be a child with us. I asked at the reception if anything could be done to help with this and when we came back, the bed was made and the extras added, so we very happy despite the initial miscommunication. We were sad the restaurant was closed Sun-Mon as we stayed Sat-Tue. We mentioned to the reception we planned on having dinner there on Sunday or Monday and were told it was closed, but they served food at the bar. We were shown the normal menu, so it was disappointing to arrive at the bar and realise they were really only serving light sandwiches and crisps. We were so tired we couldn't bother going back to the town centre to eat. The sandwiches were fine, just not what we had planned to eat. On the last day, the housekeeping forgot to tidy our bathroom and change its bin which was had a couple of our kid's nappies from the day before. I mentioned this to the reception at check-out, so they could be aware. Despite some hiccups, we still loved our stay!

Upper end hotel with very friendly staff. No daily room service, which was surprising. Spa area had to be specifically booked for a time slot and is extra.

Stayed for 3 nights at the Yarrow hotel. All staff were very friendly. It’s close to town and beach. Had great breakfasts and the exclusive use of the spa for an hour was lovely too.

Amazing building with very interesting history, which was a nice suprise. The sauna, steam and jacuzzi requires an additional charge pp, but it is well worth it as this allows you 1 hour of exclusive, private use. Close enough to beach and town - about a 15 minute walk.

The yarrow hotel is a lovley hotel decorated to a high standard.The rooms are to a high standard as well. The spa area is a must you are charged 15 pound each to use the spar but it is well worth the price very private area.The staff are extremely good at there job which makes the stay even better good breakfast as well

HAD A VERY ENJOYABLE STAY AT THE YARROW HOTEL. THE HOTEL WAS CLEAN AND COMFORTABLE AND THE FOOD WAS GOOD. A BONUS WAS THAT THERE WAS PARKING FOR FREE.

We have stayed at the Yarrow many times and we had another good stay although I have noticed a few changes this time. In the bar we had to search for drinks menu and when our cocktails were served we weren’t given any garnish or coaster which is usual. At breakfast it’s self serve unless you order off menu and tea and coffee is from a flask where before it was freshly served. In the bedroom it appeared very clean but I found someone’s medication in the bedside cabinet which suggests it wasn’t checked thoroughly. There was no restaurant open for the Sunday night or the Monday night but the rate was very reasonable so we understand if we booked for these nights we would have to walk into town or have bar food. As it was a Birthday celebration we wanted a special meal so we didn’t eat bar food. The bar lacked atmosphere with very bright lighting and quiet. The welcome was good and reception were helpful but we’ve just noticed a few minor issues compared to the usual standard. We understand many staff are students so we are not going to complain but I wonder if the supervision is less than previously. Overall a good location and pleasant stay in Broadstairs.

The property was quirt and very clean. The service was very friendly and competent. The food at breakfast and at dinner was excellent.

We had an amazing time . Very clean room and facilities, so comfortable bed and super fluffy pillows. Breakfast was delicious and we enjoyed it so much.

Second stay at The Yarrow in five years and it's a lovely, clean, modern hotel with helpful staff. I'll be staying later on this year for work again and look forward to another stay. The prices are very reasonable, including a full spread for breakfast.

Really enjoyed our stay at the Yarrow Hotel. Our room was tastefully decorated and very clean. The other areas of the hotel were also well looked after and made our stay very pleasant. Staff are really friendly and helpful. Breakfast in the restaurant was good. We would definitely stay there again on a return to Broadstairs.

An impressive historic building converted into a lovely hotel. Staff friendly and helpful. Perfect place for exploring Broadstairs and surrounding areas. Restaurant food was excellent. The junior suite was spacious as was the bathroom. Our only criticism of the room is the decor which was characterless and the pale carpet which was stained.

Bed was way too soft and too small Breakfast was varied but nothing special Although clean, the rooms were very basic (and a rogue hairband that did not belong to us was left on the bedside table!)

Yes the breakfast menu was fresh, a good selection and constantly replenished. Air conditioning and heating system in room was a bit noisy, even when switched off there was still a fan running in the night which affected sleep

It was a large well presented building. The staff were friendly and attentive. We had 2 suites which were very spacious and comfortable. It was quiet. We enjoyed the bar snacks, which offered a good size portion. The breakfast was a good choice and very nice. It was help yourself, but there were also specials to order. There was plenty of parking on site. It was convenient location close to the town centre and the beach, plus the loop bus stop was right outside. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there and if we visited Broadstairs again, this would be our first choice.

Overall a lovely stay. The only negative was the set-up of the bathroom - the shower was open and we found that the water accumulated to the point of flooding the whole bathroom floor, and carpeting outside of the bathroom ( there was a floor squeegee to push the water towards the drain), the sink was very, very small and there was nowhere to put toiletries.

Not our first stay here but still enjoyed ambience and good breakfast. Disappointed that our classic room only had a standard double and mattress was very uncomfortable leading to two poor nights sleep. On mentioning this at check-out there was no apology but told hotel was refurbishing bedrooms and this one had not yet been done. Disappointed.

Staff very polite and helpful. Liked could get fresh milk delivered to room . Room spacious , bed large and comfy . Nice roll top bath . And had sea view . Breakfast excellent

Disappointing stay. Started with check in we arrived at 2.30pm and yes official check in was 3pm we were advised that rooms not available as and when ready and all were made available at same time. Obviously this meant 3pm - don’t often encounter such inflexibility these days. By mistake we had booked an accessible room and no others available so we had to live with that. Unfortunately the room is in serious need of a refurb - the overhead shower was useless and just sprayed water everywhere, the soak away didn’t work very well and the whole wet floor flooded - there was a big wide squeegee to help us! Advised hotel reception after first use and we asked for extra towels for the floor so we could make a dam and these were provided. Sunday housekeeping we came back to our room at 1.40pm to shower as we were going out early and our room had not been made up. Housekeeping knocked about 2pm and we advised they couldn’t do our room until 3pm when we were going out and they advised they wouldn’t be able to do it and had been busy with other rooms - based on the lack of people at breakfast the following morning it would seem they had concentrated on empty rooms rather than rooms where people were staying over! Asked at reception on way out and they said it would be done. Unfortunately we were left with 2 bath towels, no hand towels, and no new water bottles and our floor dam towels had all been removed. Night manager was good and gave us some water.

Lovely breakfast, good choice of hot & cold. Friendly staff. Room nice, clean & i slept well, although my husband didnt. Good location short walk to the sea front. My only issue was being given a room that could be connecting. Which meant i could hear the people in the room next door, when they used the hairdryer in the morning.

Stayed at the Yarrow a few times and been very happy overall,however this time not so good we stayed on the top floor which meant carrying baggage up four flights of stairs,the room has low water pressure and is in need of some tlc .

I’ve stayed at the Yarrow many times, but this time I booked two rooms for my friend and myself, we both received with out warning, rooms that were for guests with disabilities, meaning no bath/proper shower or proper bathrooom. Only a large wet room with nowhere to store any toiletries, the rest of the room was fine, but other made it an uncomfortable stay

Disastrous Experience: Unprofessional Receptionist and Lazy Breakfast Staff I recently had the misfortune of staying at this local hotel that, unfortunately, only caters to locals. My two-night reservation made through Expedia turned into a nightmare thanks to the abysmal service provided by the receptionist and breakfast staff. Upon arrival at the hotel, I inquired about an early check-in, as Expedia had informed me that it would cost £10 to check in at 12pm instead of 3pm. However, when I approached the receptionist at 12:53pm, she insisted that the early check-in would cost £30 (£10 per hour). When I attempted to question her calculation, she responded with rude and dismissive behavior, showing a complete lack of professionalism. Her demeanor suggested a simple and uneducated individual who was ill-equipped to handle even basic customer inquiries. As if the receptionist's behavior wasn't enough, the experience with the breakfast staff further compounded my disappointment. The breakfast provided was incredibly basic, and even then, items were frequently running out. Despite numerous requests from myself and other guests for items to be refilled, the staff showed a blatant disregard for customer satisfaction. Very slow service at reception at check in

Pretty bummed on check in. I booked the room on the site about 1:45 and then we headed over to see if at 2:00 there was a chance to check in a bit early. We inquired if that was possible and we were told that not a single room was ready and that check in was 3:00. I have literally never had that happen, I've always experienced a 'I'll check to see if your room might be ready." The no rooms was not believable. Next we asked if we could sit in the bar have a drink and some sandwiches we happen to have with us and we were told 'no, you can eat outside'. England in February. Also disappointed that it wasn't clear the spa/sauna was not an amenity included at the property but an extra per person charge and needed booking. On a plus note, we did book and the private space you get with booking is so nice. When we returned after 3:00 and checked in we got to the room, few more bummer things. Bed was large and nice with two thin pillows only on it. How uninviting for that quality hotel. We found some extras. Also, no bar soap for washing hands. Have to use their little plastic shower gel for that. Another plus note, breakfast was really nice and hearty and staff very accommodating.

Really lovely hotel, clean & contemporary. All staff very helpful & friendly, nothing too much trouble. Good parking & easy walk into Broadstairs Had excellent back massage in Spa which is a lovely bonus to staying here.

Exceeded expectations, walk to beach, town and main bars & restaurants convenient. All the staff are pleasant, welcoming and helpful. Lovely breakfast, pleasant surroundings, good bar and restaurant. Did I mention great staff.

We spent 2 nights at the Yarrow Hotel. Our room was a very good size, with a large comfortable bed and well-appointed bathroom. All the furnishings and decor look like new. In fact that is the same throughout the hotel corridors and in the bar/lounge. Breakfast was very good, with a buffet plus some other options to order. Location is great as it is just a short walk to the restaurants & pubs in Broadsairs, and to the sea. There is also plenty of space in their car park. A very enjoyable stay.

Great hotel with superb staff. We had a suite at the top of the hotel and it was very comfortable and a great base to explore the coastline around Broadstairs. The breakfasts were fantastic and we booked a dinner on our last night which was very tasty and top restaurant quality as well as being great value for money.

I just loved staying at such an lovely building with an interesting history. It was also walkable to the town and had the bus stop outside to travel around the area.

A good location hotel . Staff happy and polite . A very good one night break . Breakfast seletion good . The only one small niggle was that breakfast plates cold and hot buffet only warm . By the time got to table full my Full English was cold . Apart from that a very good stay and would stay again .

Room fine clean and comfortable. Bar tender miserable. Breakfast too busy one toast machine. Scrambled egg looked unappetising. By the time we received our fried eggs had eaten most of our breakfast. Would have preferred table service which would be better in a hotel of the size.

Very friendly and efficient staff during our visit. The room was comfortable but not warm despite the air con/heater. The hot buffet breakfast wasn’t great but are they ever? Eggs cooked to order were perfect though. The food at dinner was pretty good and well cooked but the menu was quite limited. The menu size matched the hotel size really and overall we had no complaints. Would definitely stay there again.

Good location and easy parking. Spacious Junior suite with large bathroom. Room modern & functional but had poor quality paintwork and lacked luxury. Breakfast was overcooked, held too long on buffet and not hot. Staff seemed uninterested and no visible management. Overall not great value for money.
