Lovely bedroom with sea view and balcony. Friendly staff. Enjoyed the views from the beer garden. The only downside was that there were no long life milk sachets in the bedroom, unlike any other hotel room we have ever stayed in! Had to keep going down to reception to get a flask of milk which then very quickly went off and had to be thrown away!

We stayed for 2 nights in the triple room and had the best time. Firstly the location is FAB! You couldn't get any closer to the beach. The room was comfy with a great sized bathroom. Lovely tea/coffee facilities in the room. The hotel staff were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We were celebrating my mums birthday and they decorated the room with a banner and we had a drinks voucher for the bar which was a lovely touch. The breakfast each day was perfect. So much choice with cold and hot foot available. My son has a diary allergy and they were very clear with what he could/couldn't have. The only slight downside is that there is no parking included and that there is no lift to the top floor. But we knew these before booking so it wasn't an issue for us.

Very noisy as based on a main road by bars that stayed open late. Wi-Fi very patchy. Car park a 5-min walk away and was chargeable. Otherwise, nice hotel with friendly staff and nice bar/restaurant.

Nice friendly staff wanting to please. Good choice of breakfast and willing to change to suit preferences. Room was very clean as was bathroom. Parking was about 200 yards away, plenty of space just don't have too many bags to carry.

The location was very good. Food choices were very good. A lot of stairs and no lift. The council car park was expensive, but were advised to get a 24 hour ticket, which was cheaper than the hourly rate.

Great location, v friendly staff and great food options. Lovely sea view from room. Breakfast was fantastic. Was surprised by the number of options and the omelette was one of the best I have ever eaten. Parked in train station which was only a short walk away and very reasonably priced. Will certainly be back.

I have stayed here a few times…the staff are always friendly…the rooms at the top of the house are up some steep steers and their is no lift…it’s not a problem but it’s good to be awate

We loved the room overlooking the sea with a large terrace. All the staff were polite and efficient. The beer garden and the terrace outside the bar were great. Some of the carpet in the corridors outside the rooms and the exit to the terrace could have benefited from a hoover! The only downside to the room was that there was no milk provided to enjoy a cup of tea. When I asked about this I got a thermos flask of hot milk which obviously went off the next morning as there was no fridge. I think a fridge in the room would be a great asset.

The hotel is very well located for visiting Broadstairs - 10 mins walk from the train station and in the centre of things. The tables in the dining area were very sticky - felt like they needed a good soapy water wash rather than just spray and wipe. Plates etc all stuck to them! The room was spacious and it suited our needs.

Parking 200 yards away from hotel. Stairway carpet old and dirty. Receptionist was slow. Tables and work surfaces in bar sticky Staff very pleasant but inexperienced. Valentine's night meal was a disaster. Valentines menu taken off the tables. The usual menu was offered. Both steak choices taken off. Lemon sole taken off Meatballs taken off Crab and prawn linguine taken off. Hummous and scallops ( starters) off Green beans off. Ran out of wine we were drinking. Hake was half cooked Potato was burnt Mussels were gritty and sandy and not eatable. Breaded prawns were cold and tasteless. I asked for coffee and brandy and the brandy had ice in it. Our room no 12 was fine nice sea views clean and tidy. Breakfast wasnt great. My 2 poached eggs on muffins were hard boiled. 😫 We refused to pay for our food in the evening as it was terrible. We paid for all drinks.

Very impressed with our stay, the room well appointed and clean. Very comfy bed. But the biggest plus for us were the staff. They all went out of their way to be welcoming and helpful. They made us feel like our stay really mattered to them. Thank you to all the staff at the Albion Hotel. We will definitely be booking with you again

LOVELY hotel, fabulous breakfasts, comfy HUGE bed, very friendly staff. But although the overall look is shabby chic there were a few areas where cleanliness issues went beyond this. Our bathroom window with its secondary double gazing was black/filthy on the inside of the window frame itself . Skirting boards were less than sparkling too.A shame as these issues let down such a great & popular hotel. White paint isn't expensive & a coat in many areas would enhance the overall look. And, dare I say it, a deep clean before the summer season starts ? Would definitely go back but maybe others wouldn't.....

A beautiful refurbished room with a balcony and sea view. The bathroom was beautiful, provided toiletries and was incredibly clean and warm as was the bedroom. Coffee machine, water, clock radio, television and more. Unfortunately, I was only staying for 1 night.

the breakfast was great...but that is it. If you decide to stay at this hotel, never stay in one that is overlooking high street, it is very noisy, and the noise was right up until 2am!!, with no way of blocking out the noise. The decor is very dated and tired, but the room was large. Good choice of coffee in room, and water was supplied.

We stayed in the hotel before and it was lovely but this time the room was too small, too hot, the carpet was extremly dirty and it was very noisy. We wouldn’t stay in room 33 again.

Lovely hotel 6 minute stroll from the train station and with a wonderful closeness to the beach. A bit quirky as the room had a distinctive slant to the floor but added to the loveliness of the room. Breakfast was sublime and very filling. Overall a great stay.

Historic hotel with sea view. Our room was town facing. Nice and warm. Good WiFi. Comfortable bed. Inviting bath. Freeview TV. Pod coffee machine with lots of pods. Tea bags, coffee bags etc. Friendly atmosphere. As well as a good breakfast, we enjoyed a very good Sunday lunch at the hotel.

The television did not work. Twice I asked for it to be replaced or mended, but nothing was done. The room I had was at the front of the hotel. There was no double glazing, and noise from the street was considerable at night. The last of the revellers left at 2.30 am, and by 4 the gulls had started calling followed by bin collections, deliveries, and so on. The staff were unfailingly pleasant. The breakfast was good (though orange juice only appeared on Saturday).

The hotel staff were excellent , polite and helpful , although the reception phone was not manned when I needed help at around 10:30pm , fortunately this was not anything serious but if it had been , there would have been no response. The room was a good size with good quality towels. The bed in room 19 was not comfortable and the pillows varied. The balcony needs serious attention, it could be made into a lovely place to sit but we didn’t feel we wanted to use the unmaintained area. The quality of food at breakfast was good and we enjoyed the choice available. News of what was happening in the lounge could be advertised at reception , we didn’t know about the quiz that had happened on a previous night . I would think again about staying at the hotel at the rate charged even though the location could not be more perfect.

So-so welcome, was told to come to reception to replenish milk when necessary but found I didn’t have any in room. Headed for the bar, where I asked about the advertised limited edition XPA but the barman said “I haven’t got a clue, they just stick a card up without telling us.” So, overall first impressions weren’t great. Luckily for Sheps, the rest of the crew were very good during the evening and breakfast next day, indeed breakfast was very good and tasty compared to many other establishments. Unfortunately the bed was not level due to a top-floor room having an uneven floor and I was having to slightly prop myself in bed to prevent roll-out to the edge. Shower was powerful but water up the top was only warm all through the stay, and although that suited me, it may not suit others. I wasn’t asked on check-out if everything was ok with the room/our stay, so don’t feel awkward raising the issues here.

We had a wonderful stay. The room is beautiful with an amazing view and balcony, the location is incredible, but the best thing was the staff. From when we first arrived throughout the whole stay the staff were just amazing. What a team. Thank you.

The hotel is very well located for visiting Broadstairs - 10 mins walk from the train station and in the centre of things. The tables in the dining area were very sticky - felt like they needed a good soapy water wash rather than just spray and wipe. Plates etc all stuck to them! The room was spacious and it suited our needs.

The Royal Albion is a lovely hotel, offers a traditional atmosphere and stylish decor. Great location, overlooking Viking Bay with easy access to the beach and charming town. The sea-facing rooms offer stunning views across the bay. The staff are very friendly, attentive, and helpful. The breakfast is a highlight. It's delicious, best one I have had in an UK B&B, offering a variety of delicious options, including cooked-to-order choices, it goes well beyond the standard full English breakfast. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay andwould love to go back.

Parking 200 yards away from hotel. Stairway carpet old and dirty. Receptionist was slow. Tables and work surfaces in bar sticky Staff very pleasant but inexperienced. Valentine's night meal was a disaster. Valentines menu taken off the tables. The usual menu was offered. Both steak choices taken off. Lemon sole taken off Meatballs taken off Crab and prawn linguine taken off. Hummous and scallops ( starters) off Green beans off. Ran out of wine we were drinking. Hake was half cooked Potato was burnt Mussels were gritty and sandy and not eatable. Breaded prawns were cold and tasteless. I asked for coffee and brandy and the brandy had ice in it. Our room no 12 was fine nice sea views clean and tidy. Breakfast wasnt great. My 2 poached eggs on muffins were hard boiled. 😫 We refused to pay for our food in the evening as it was terrible. We paid for all drinks.

Great location, v friendly staff and great food options. Lovely sea view from room. Breakfast was fantastic. Was surprised by the number of options and the omelette was one of the best I have ever eaten. Parked in train station which was only a short walk away and very reasonably priced. Newly refurbished room with new very comfortable beds plus hard and a soft pillow. Only stayed one night so commenting on breakfast. It’s ground floor light airy space or sit outside. Choice of cereals, breads, pastries etc. plus great menu of cooked food. I wasn’t going to have anything hot but I was persuaded and it was made up of what I like and perfect.
