Americas Best Value Inn & Suites Bastrop

This property needs to be updated ASAP. Stayed from 3/30 to 4/2. The building is extremely dated, dirty and needs to be repaired. At checkin, I asked the gentleman at the desk for an extra set of towels. to which he responded, "We don't have any. Check back tomorrow morning." I'm not sure if hewas just being lazy or was really telling the truth. Nonetheless, I went to WalMart the next day and purchased my own set of towels. The hotel has 2 floors, but no elevator. I'm sure this has to violate some ADA compliance rules. I had to schlep my luggage up to the 2nd floor via the stairs, which were riddled with trash, old air conditioners, and other discarded materials/equipment. The hallways reeked of marijuana - despite my room being a no smoking room. My room smelled of marijuana and mold. Bathroom was disgusting - paint peeling off walls, dirt in corners, floor not clean, and shower curtain old and musty. My TV wouldn't turn off. Towels and pillow cases had stains on them. The pillows themselves were old, clumpy and dirty. Some kind of substance was splattered the walls. I purchased a candle and some lysol and was able to sanitize what I could. The bathub had jets in it, which were showing signs of mold. Overall, I will NEVER stay here again. Since this is pretty much the only hotel in Bastrop, I could tell the operator of this hotel feels like they don't need to invest at all in this establishment due to being the only game in town. You should be ashamed.

The staff was courteous and helpful, the property was well lit and well maintained, and the location was convenient.

Everything was fine minus our bathroom. It didn’t seem clean. There were a lot of what looked like abandoned projects. Plants outside with a bag of mulch, old pump for the fish tank in the lobby. Just simple stuff that could help raise the star rating. Staff was there…not friendly but not rude. Again small stuff and it was cheap to stay. The area around it was decent, not terrible, just a small town atmosphere.

Back door card reader not working. Carpet in room needs update. Breakfast was limited but ok.

I liked the fact, they switched rooms with no problems to accommodate us(my son is in a wheelchair), reserved room was on the 2nd floor, and no elevator property. I have a couple of negative thinks, I was told "that more food was on the way" at 8 and it never came. I believe Breakfast was from 6:30-9. We had a Double bed room/2 adults 2 kids - room only had 2 sets of towels - Should have 4 sets.

Pool was nice. Room we got was not clean. Dirt/mud on carpet. Wouldn’t recommend

Checked in late with a reservation. The room was disgusting. The bathroom had hair all over the toilet and floors. The toilet was dirty. The shower looked terrible. The door handles on the bathroom were falling off. The bedside table was filthy and there was an onion peel on the floor. Insane to me. I had to ask for towels from the front desk and she said “I don’t know what these house keepers did today” WILL NEVER GO BACK. Probably the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at. Giving it one star was generous

Staff very helpful . Liked the refrigerator & microwave in the room . Room was very dirty especially the bathroom. Smelled strongly like cigarettes although a non smoking room. Others were smoking in hall .

The property was disgusting. It had a lingering odor in the hallway and in the bedroom. Stains on the “clean” bed sheets and missing pillowcases. The bathroom was extremely unsanitary as well.

The room I stayed in either smelled like mildew or urine. There was mold on the carpet and the side of the refrigerator. I encountered a round bug in the bathroom and there were stains on the blankets. Felt uncomfortable touching anything during my stay.

Filthy. This room was not cleaned prior to my stay. Half empty bottle of tea in the refrigerator and an empty tea bottle between the bed and nightstand. Hair in the bathroom and sheets. Just overall nasty and worn out. Not kept up over time.

This Hotel was so outdated it was unlivable. The carpet smell from mildew it was dirty. The bedsheets were dingy and wrinkled. The Place stink so badly. I could not spend one night there. I’m requesting a refund because the Place was unlivable.

The room was a little outdated, and not as modern as some… However, the staff was very friendly, and it was very quiet and secure!

Hotel needs to be updated!! New floors/carpet, updated furniture, need to offer toiletries to the customers

No hot water, even though i requested a nonsmoking room, room smelt like it was previously smoked in. And a\\c wasnt working properly

This was the worst stay ever.. Just a run down dump. Nasty dog hair everywhere. Bed linen was unfresh. It was a big event going on and had no way to book another place to stay and afford to let them keep my money. Beds where like laying on box springs super hard. My tub had mold and mildew in it. Luckily I rented 2 rooms. And the shower was ok. I had to go buy my own towels cause they freaking had none. Toilets clogged after every second use and no one would come help they just sent a plunger. Carpet was so disgusting I went and bought slides and disposable socks so the kids wouldn’t touch it. Complained about a party or dancing or a club going on up stairs I thought the roof was gonna cave in. Party until 6am. Smelled like an all the toilets were backed up on the first floor. This place deserves no stars it needs to have the health inspectors and osha come in and shut them down. Clearly a sign says no pets or smoking. DESK CLERK TOLD ME if we smoke they will charge me. While I walk out she rents to a young lady who smells like a pond of marijuana and another lady letting her dog run down the hall and runs right into our room. Where my grand kids were allergic. The door was coming apart Kept getting locked out d to the door lock wouldn’t read the card. I spent the whole weekend in tears and fear and no sleep. I was so disgusted I only got 1 photo. And on top of that we confirmed our trip and was supposed to pay at check in they tried to run our card prior to visit. Building

I got a call 45 min from the hotel by a man who insisted on charging my card right then. I told him we would be there in 45 min to check in, he said if he did not charge my card right then he was going to sell the room. While on the phone with him, I received an email saying my reservation had been cancelled. I tried explaining again that I was 45 min away and he hung up on me. I drove almost 8 hours, just to have to find an alternative 45 min from the destination. Please do not stay here, the man was rude to my husband and double rude to me. Never again.

Every time I come to the hotel I don't have an issue. The staff is pleasant

Lady was very nice that checked us in. Property was quiet and clean.

This property was terrible. The desk receptionist had a nasty disposition he was very rude! I asked him for two clean face towels he told me to bring the dirty face towels and he'll wash them and give them back to me! I have never stayed in a hotel or motel where I had to bring dirty face towels to the desk in order to get too clean ones. The TV volume went out a day before ceck out. We had to sit in our room without any volume on TV. He did nothing about that. The bathroom was very filthy. They didn't even wash the toilet bowl, the faucet, bathtub, coffee maker.the desk and the telephone! The linen had cigarette holes in them. The bed was uncomfortable and the carpets was dirty and stinky. We switched from room 115 because it was stinky to 206 and it was a little better. We only stay because it was close to a family members funeral. We will tell everyone never to stay at this hotel.

It was very noisy bad breakfast

Very quiet, staff was very polite and generous. Breakfast could have been better, but overall stay was good!
