Days Inn by Wyndham Vega TX

The room was nothing like the pictures online. Swimming pool was closed, no blow dryer like said, no ironing board like said, no extra blankets like said. The furniture wasn’t even what was advertised. It was cheap looking Walmart furniture, no desk or dresser, just a bench with a drawer. Definitely wasn’t worth what we paid for it. The good this was a afternoon clerk, she was pretty amazing.

liked that there was parking close to hotel and it was well lit. My room was clean and bathroom clean. happy that everything worked.

We picked this place from reviews. We had been driving all day and were looking forward to a clean bed, dinner and a drink. Obviously the reviews were all fakes. We pulled in and thought they were closed. There were paper signs taped to the doors and the fountain hadn’t been working for a long time. There were 2 cars in the parking lot. We had already booked and paid on the road, so we went ahead. Otherwise we would have driven on. The desk clerk could have cared less that we were there. Unfriendly and unhelpful. The place was run down, in terrible shape. The indoor pool was empty and being used as storage. The snack machine looked 3/4s empty and I would hate to guess how old anything in it was. Ice machine had no ice I asked about a restaurant and she mumbled Rosters was the only one open. Well it was closed, as was everything in that town or should I say wayside. We went back and ate snacks. We pulled down the bed. The bottom sheet was on sideways and not tucked in. The sheets appeared very old and threadbare. TV worked. The one complement I can give them is they had toothpaste as I had forgotten mine. Breakfast was very badly acceptab. I would guess satisfactory. But you better hurry since it was served from 7 to 9. When I saw Wyndham Hotels owned Days Inn, I was floored and my opinion of Wyndham dropped to the bottom. This motel should be closed, remodeled or sold. No reputable company should let it represent it. PS: The back door doesn’t lock.

This hotel was a bit rough around the edges. Pool still under renovation. They advertised breakfast but it was only coffee and packaged sweet roll.

Rude lady on reception (Christy). Room dirty. Net curtains filthy. Stained sheets. When I went and asked for new bedding, she couldn’t even be bothered to stop her cell phone conversation! Went and got bedding, just handing it over the counter without a word. Changed the bedding myself. Then a Cockroach ran across the room. Husband reported it to receptionist, who just said she’d ‘log it’. You advertise warm hospitality, clean, comfortable rooms where everything works (the WiFi was very intermittent and not ‘high speed’ as advertised in reception). The pool was out of action, which was not on the booking site! Breakfast poor. The only saving grace was the shower was very good.

The building looked abandoned. Only half of the hotel was habitual.the room smelled bad. The pool was stacked full of furniture.

If you want a place to sleep, this is your place! It’s quiet and close to Amarillo. But the hotel needs major updating. When I booked this trip, I was happy to see that they had a pool. But going there and talking to staff, the pool is shut down for maintenance, really looks as though the owners does not want to pay for the repairs and upkeep for it. Our room had plaster and paint peeling off and it looks as though the bathroom floor was missing grout. The shower walls were painted and yes the pain is coming off and the shower spout was loose and I was afraid to use it because it was flimsy. Light pollution on the west side of the building will keep you up if your a person who needs to sleep in the dark. The staff was great, helpful and nice.

The Room was Clean and the Staff was kind .. the only thing was I didnt Think they had enough parking.. because they’re was big trucks that were using more then one spot .

I had lots of valuable things in suitcases and unloaded for security reasons. No elevator to the second floor. No security cameras to watch vehicles. Breakfast selection was poor at best. Not that I expected much to begin with.

Bath tub was disgusting. There was a dirty towel behind the door and pubic hair in the shower!

We immediately checked back out of the room within minutes of arriving due to the uncleanliness and unsafe environment. There were cigarette burns all over the bedding and furniture, and we did not feel safe enough to stay through the night. We are still waiting on getting the refund that the property agreed to.

Mold, mold, and more mold. The first room we were put in literally smelt like someone has left wet gym socks laying in the air vent. The second room, although it smelt much better, had obvious mold behind the carpet being used as a baseboard

The staff is very nice. Breakfast was good as well. Our carpet was wet in the area near the window/cooling unit. Black mold on the wall.

Booked 2 rooms for 1 night during cross country trip on May 30 2024. Room 1 smelt strongly of urine and the towels had yellow stains. A new room was requested. Room 1 replacement smelt like mold, had dried blood on the comforter, and a novel on the night stand. Room 2 smelt strongly of cleaners, had food in the fridge, and hair in the bed. My party went to the front desk and asked to check out and was told we'd be issued a refund. After a week, no refund. Contacted Days Inn for an update and was told there was no such note made and since I booked with Expedia, I would have to contact them. I did, they attempted to reach out without success and told me there was nothing more to do. I reached out to Days Inn again, (June 18th 2024) explained the situation and was told a manager would issue my refund within 48-72 hours. 72 hours later, no refund. Called hotel and was told the people I spoke with before lied to me and there was nothing they were going to do for me since I booked with Expedia. I reached out to Expedia again, gave them the story, they called and were told that none of my refund would be approved by Days Inn, end of story. I will never stay at another Days Inn, regardless of location.

I chose this hotel for its close proximity to the highway. This was a quick stop over and we had a great time. For being so close to the highway it was very quiet. Rooms were clean and very roomy. I would choose this hotel again when we are nearby.

Check in was great, quick and friendly. Layout of the room wasn't very good with the sink far from the bathroom. Breakfast was the worst, hardly anything there and they ran out of coffee. Coffee cups had no lids anyway.

Rooms were cheap but smelled musty. Air conditioner doesn’t work well nor does fridge. Curtains were drained. You get what u pay for. OK to spend one night here but would not spend 2.

No thermostat for heating unit so we had a hard time setting the correct temperature.

Bed was comfortable and room appeared to be upgraded, except the air conditioning, which was loud and old. Bathroom tub had been painted and the paint was peeling, faucet was not aligned correctly, toilet rocked loosely.

Made reservations 30 minutes before I checked in at 4:30 am and had to check out by 10am instead of letting me stay the whole 24hrs or prorating us.

After staying at Days Inns that were motels, this Days Inn hotel was wonderful. This was particularly nice since outside the hotel was a large, rather loud gas station. Hotel's late-night staff was friendly and accommodating. Room was clean. Breakfast limited, but included waffles you could make yourself.

Limited activities and dining near by.

Amazing Area, Beautiful View & Very Convenience to Vega, Texas

It was a great place to stop while on the road. Was convientiently off the highway. Not many choices in Vega so this worked out great.

Shelly, the night shift attendant was wonderful! We arrived for breakfast at 8:30. The breakfast hours are 6am-9am. The waffle batter was empty. We asked Monica for assistance to fill the waffle batter. She was gone for approximately 15 minutes. During this time we heard the owner yelling at the staff, Monica and the housekeeper loudly. The owner came in and stated that it was 8:50 and we were too late extremely rude and offered nothing but stale cereal. We informed her that we requested the waffle batter at 8:34am. She said, ‘things need to run on time for her hotel to run correctly’. She was difficult to understand. Monica then entered and very rudely said, ‘you are too late’ and continued to argue, berate, and follow us to our room… I have never been treated so unprofessionally…She then stood outside our door and complained to the owner that we should have been early and it was our own fault. Even after we said, ‘we didn’t care about the waffle, it was the poor and unprofessional treatment we had the issue with’… The whole thing was petty and it was clear whatever the staff was experiencing from the owner trickled down to the guests. Shelly was amazing, I can’t say that enough! We were treated like victims of high school bullying… The waffle was for our disabled daughter… The poorly stocked breakfast area was cleared out by 8:40am even though they say they serve until 9am. An apology for running out of waffle mix was all that was expected. Poor management!

The website said they sereve breakfast but I do not consider packaged Honey buns and coffee to be breakfast there was also no coffee maker in the rooms can't belive I paid 90 dollars and got Honey buns.

Breakfast was only a packaged danish. I think the bed spread was originally white. Overall hotel condition versus price not on par.
