The Corner House Hotel

The hotel is less then minutes from Gatwick airport, it' clean, well mantained, the staff is of extreme kindness and they offer a very efficient transport service to and drom the airport. They have also a well furnished bar and nice restaurant. Excellent choice for early travellers or for late arrivals.

We needed picked up at the train station and that was quick and easy 6 £. Only draw back was no lift, but the driver quickly took my bags upstairs. Place is very clean and updated . Restaurant was nice. Trip to airport the next day was quick and easy £12 per room. Price for room was very reasonable.

Always a good stay close to the airport with a conveninent shuttle. Good service and room.

Its a decent place to stay but I felt overcharged for pickup and drop to Gatwick airport. This should have been offered as complimentary rather than being charged 12 GBP each way. I could have easily got an Uber for the same or even lower price without having to wait for the shuttle.

I chose this hotel due to its proximity to the airport and the advertised 24 hour airport shuttle service. Our flight was delayed and we did not get into Gattwick until midnight. Upon arrival to the airport, we called to have the shuttle pick us up. We tried calling the number provided and tried using the courtesy phone at the airport with no one that answered the phone with several call attempts. Finally, a rude man answered and told us that he was the only one there and that we would have to take a cab to the hotel. The taxi cab line was huge and we had an early flight to return to the US in the morning so we paid $26 for an Uber to get us to the hotel. Upon arriving, we were greeted by the same rude man at the check in desk who told us “we would have had to pay for the shuttle anyways”, even it was supposed to be $10. I was not offered any compensation for the extra money I had to pay for the Uber or for the added time and inconvenience we endured trying to get to the hotel. The room was adequate, although there is no AC and it sits on a busy street so leaving the windows open is not a good option. To say the least, I was not happy with our stay there and would not recommend staying there. You would be much better off staying at an airport property instead.

Lovely little hotel close to Gatwick Airport. Very convenient for overnight stay between flights or early morning one. Excellent hotel shuttle, waited less than 5 minutes after calling them from the bus stop #10 at the south terminal. Friendly driver and staffs. Would not hesitate at all recommending The Corner House Hotel and I will definitely come back !

Most of the staff friendly. Rooms small but fine for one night. They charge 13 pounds per room to shuttle you to the airport so if you have two rooms its cheaper to take a taxi. Breakfast a la carte or small coffee/tea corner, had the english breakfast and it was quite ok. Bar shares staff with frontdesk so when at the bar the service can be slow. Overall an ok hotel to stay one night close to Gatwick airport

Bar open to midnight was helpful

Stay was great apart from the fact they wanted to charge me for parking. Nothing on the booking page or on the email about paying to park

This property is really good value. The restaurant has a really good selection of freshly prepared foods and also good value. The access to the property is not very good when coming in by car as it is very tight to get in and out and very limited parking.

Spotlessly clean, comfortable room. The staff are helpful and friendly and ard not thrown by any glitches or blips associated with travelling. We had a seamless transfer from the hotel to the airport in the early hours of tge morning. Thank you.

This hotel was near Gatwick airport, room was clean and spacious.

We stayed for the shuttle for one night for proximity to the airport. The woman working made a few comments about how early we needed to leave. But the guy who ran the shuttle to the airport at 4 am was kind and helpful. I’m allergic to dust and the amount of dust in the room was horrible. It was visible. The carpets were dirty. The bedspread and sheets were dirty. A lot of hair on them. We were scared to even put our bags on anything or sleep there. And it was very cold. No sort of heating that we saw.

By sheer luck, the shuttle bus had just dropped off passengers at LGW (North Terminal) at the very moment I arrived at the bus stop. Emma was a delightful chauffeur. She also checked me into my room. The entire staff seemed friendly and helpful. I found the spacious single room in spotless condition. One special highlight: the WC/shower had one of the nices liquid soap/shampoos I've ever experienced. Highly recommended!

The hotel was fine and the staff were great the only thing was the pillow case didn’t look washed and it didn’t look vacuumed

The Corner House was perfect for a solo traveler like me while waiting for a flight from Gatwick. I had a single room which was a little small. However, the cleanliness and comfort were superb. I really had a good night's sleep. The breakfast was excellent and started your day off well. I would stay again most definitely.

The best things about the Corner House were the shuttle (and perfect instructions on how to reach them and meet them upon arrival) the comfortable bed (I find many in the UK to be very hard, but theirs was just right) and the English Breakfast for a great price. I had a few issues with the room (heater not working, drafty window) and the shower had mold on several grout lines, which made me wonder about the cleaning overall (if a cleaner cleans well, there just should never be any mold that takes hold). But the staff were all so great and friendly, and the service so excellent, that it made up for it. That's why I'd recommend it and will stay there again.

I was unable to sleep here My room was across the road from the hotel in a converted house The single room was small but ok - the bathroom tiny Could not stand to have a pee due to the low ceiling height which I cannot imagine meet building code. Black mould in shower Landing lights don’t come on until you are half way down the stairs And the room is heated to sauna temperature - a heated towel rail pushes out enough heat for an average 3 bed detach house plus a second radiator I opened the window and then it was noisy At least I can sleep on the plane!

The staff were brilliant and super friendly. The parking was easy on site and the transfer to the airport was easy to organise and was managed really efficiently. I would highly recommend this as a place to use as base before going on holiday! 5 stars!

Simple rooms where you can hear a lot of sounds from the corridor and other rooms. We were at the second house across the road. Very helpful and kind staff. Easy transit from and to the airport.

This hotel was perfect for what I needed - a small room where I could sleep, and a shuttle the next morning to Gatwick airport. The 7am shuttle was full with other people who were at this hotel for the same reason. My room was tiny, but I knew that when I booked. It was all I needed.

The room was well decorated, clean and had a very comfortable bed. The down side was from the noise from the hotel bar directly below the room (number 1) plus the traffic noise outside (though that is the not the fault of the hotel). Also people leaving the hotel talking loudly very early in the morning outside the hotel also disturbed our sleep a couple of times.

The property location is good, close to the airport which is convenient. The bedroom walls are very thin it makes it very very noisy to get a good night sleep- I had someone next to me bang his door way into the early hours of the morning. The heating also cannot be adjusted (well in the room I was in anyway) so you are either freezing cold or super warm. While I can see the appeal to stay close to the airport for the price, I'll probably pay for something a bit better next time.

Old but renovated. I could barely sleep listening to the cars on the road. Very nice customer service and very clean as well. I couldn’t find the A/C in the room, but they had a fan…

We only used the property for a late arrival and early flight. The room was lovely and clean (a bit hot) but we were tired and didn’t notice the huge fan in the room until the next morning! Only

I stayed in the annex on this occasion and it was very noisy due to the flimsy build quality. The main building is much more preferable. I’d only stay here again if I could get assurance I’d be in the main building.

Friendly and helpful staff. Very convenient for an over nite stay before a morning flight from Gatwick airport. A bit of a noisy night with a busy road close by. Surprisingly it wasn’t airplane noise but rather road vehicle noise. Therefore I had to keep my window shut which made the room somewhat stuffy. Position of the bed in the room had the head right at the windows and as the curtains didn’t fit snuggly, light from outside beamed onto the head area. Perhaps the bed could be turned 90 degrees to avoid this discomfort?

Unfortunately I did not have a good night. Passage and especially room overhead had loudly creaking floors. In addition shuttle service is expensive at £26 return. For a similar price I could have stayed at Premier Inn or Travelodge with en suite bathroom and no noise

Brilliant find and so convenient for Gatwick. The service before I arrived was excellent. All staff were super helpful and very accommodating to my change of travel plans. Thank you. 5 ⭐️.

Lovely hotel, although bathroom was very small, and we especially enjoyed the breakfast. Unfortunately despite requesting a cot in advance and getting an email saying it would be set up in our room, this didn't happen. When we arrived they seemed unsure a cot would even fit in the room we were in! They did find a spare cot but it wouldn't go up properly despite me and one of the hotel staff trying for a while. I was told that unfortunately some other guests had arrived first and were given the cots. Thankfully we had a cot packed away in our luggage so had to get that out, but having to unpack and repack wasnt ideal. So just be aware if you request a cot it might not be there.

I liked this room 15 more because it was ensuite. I did not like the reception from the staff - no eye contact. The last time i stayd the staff were friendlier and funny. The only issue with the room 15 is that I could hear all the noise and luggage being dragged ar AM in the morning. Other than that I do like the corner house and would recommend it to others.

Very disappointed in the service. Perhaps being American I didn't get the same treatment as a local, but I was eating dinner and ordered a beer from the bartender who had served me previously. After 15 minutes of waiting and still no beer, I found him and asked him if he had my drink. He informed me he didn't and was going to the airport to pick up another guest that he didn't want to keep waiting (who was presumably more important than me??) He left, leaving me to finish my meal and wonder about getting another beer. Finally a woman came by and asked if I needed anything but by then I was finished eating and was tired from flying all day and only wanted to go to bed. Not what I expected, I wouldn't recommend them.

I was deeply dissatisfied with our recent stay at The Corner House Hotel Gatwick. To say the experience was disappointing would be an understatement. Upon our arrival around midnight, we were met with an appallingly rude and racist attitude from the individual at reception. When we brought up concerns about the cold room and a non-functioning lamp, he responded dismissively and made a completely inappropriate and racist comment: “This is England, not India.” This assumption was based purely on the colour of our skin — an incredibly offensive and ignorant remark, especially considering we are from Toronto, Canada and have never been to India. This level of hostility and racism was shocking. We have travelled extensively, including in England, and have never encountered such treatment. Additionally, our room was not located in the main building with the reception, but across a busy road — a completely inconvenient and unsafe situation at midnight, especially with luggage. The staff member made no effort to assist us with our bags. He walked with us but left us halfway to figure out an outdated lock on the room, which took us at least a few minutes to figure out. The room itself was far from the standard one would expect from a hotel with good reviews. It was outdated, noticeably dusty along the edges and had a non-functioning lamp. This experience was deeply upsetting, and we feel compelled to share how unacceptable it was.

Good stay at this hotel. Just one night pre early flight, everything was as it should be. Very clean, comfortable and quiet. 5 min drive to long stay parking. Would revisit. Parking is an additional £9.

Great Hotel, just one bus stop away from Gatwick South Terminal (Northbound). Room is clean, comfy, and worth every pennies!!! Would be back anytime soon for transit

Perfect for a quick stay before an early flight. Check out the 400 year old Ye Olde Six Bells pub, very cool the path to get there is through a creepy graveyard

Room was small but very clean and very comfy. Happy about the kettle, wish there was a mini fridge. All staff I dealt were friendly. Nice neighbourhood. Waitrose grocery a 12 min walk. Very transit accessible. If you are budget minded, you can take a one-stop bus ride to/from the airport.

A nice enough place to spend a night before a flight. Shower was clean and powerful. Close to local bus lines that get you to Gatwick South 24h per day - you can also walk to Gatwick South if you are committed enough. Slightly on the noisy side (as every airport hotel is!) with people moving in the corridors throughout the night. I would stay again though; it was a lovely start to the holiday - thank you :)

Perfect location for Gatwick Airport, utilised the pick up service from the North terninal which was very reasonably priced. Situated close to many bars and restaurants in Horley. Will certainly revisit whenever travel plans go through Gatwick.

A great place to stay if you have an early flight from Gatwick and you're looking for fair prices. It's even a roughly 30 minute walk to the airport.

Excellent and very friendly hotel perfect for my one night stay. Dinner and Breakfast excellent too. Will definitely book in again if working near this area.

I stayed 2 nights for a wedding and it was a nice stay. Comfy bed, pillows not so much . I asked for a softer one and they did find me one. Food was good and the staff were very friendly.

Fantastic stay! The transportation option to/ from Gatwick was handy, and the bar and reataurant onsite are great amenities. Room was clean and the shower was nice. A bit warm at night, but otherwise perfect.

Lovely, clean and comfortable room. Bed was great except for two tiny, horrible uncomfortable pillows - one each for my husband and myself. Just not enough on such a very lovely bed. Seemed cheap. Bathroom was great with both bath and shower which pleased both of us. Breakfast was mediocre with lousy coffee and slow service. Not good value for the extra charge. Both the bar and restaurant were completely empty and uninviting for our evening stay there. Otherwise staff were very pleasant and helpful.

It had an old world feel - I really appreciated the restaurant that was open till at least 9:00 pm when we arrived- good food and menu choice to boot. All at reasonable prices for the area! Easy to get to as well.

Liked the location near Gatwick but having some character. The bathroom door had to remain closed (and it was very small) due to the steam setting off the fire alarm in the room. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Enjoyed a good dinner there too.

Got a pastry and yogurt for continental Breakfast I definitely don’t think It was worth the price. Other than that I was overall pleased

This is not the Ritz, but for a night or two or more stopover (I had to deliver a hire car back to Gatwick) very clean room, super helpful and friendly staff, and a delicious cooked breakfast! Just what anyone could want or need!!
