Motel 6-Goleta, CA - Santa Barbara

I've stayed here a few times and have never had an issue. The staff is cool, the property is clean, and the location is great. The only little complaint would be that the parking can be a little annoying... This location sells out often so finding a spot in the evening can be a little more difficult. Other than that it's great.. I'll definitely be staying here again.

Everything was very clean except the pool. It was pretty gross. Very friendly front desk and housekeeping personnel. Obscenely expensive for what you got!

This is a good hotel. I've stayed here a couple times. It is clean and comfortable. Staff was attentive and professional. There are things to do and places to eat nearby, which is nice. My only bummer about this place is, parking is pretty tight and no elevator. Thanks, I'll see you again

Everything was good, the property is okay, the pool needed a little cleaning but it was alright to swim in.

Easy check in and easy check out. Plenty of parking. Cheerful attendance in the front office.

They say it has a spa but it does not I had a long going and looking forward to it got disappointed.

The room was very small, no breakfast, no decaf coffee or tea, the pool was not in working order. No hair dryer. We got charged top dollar for a very low rated hotel. Would never stay at another Motel 6.

The room was clean and well appointed. Was able to get my laundry done. Lots of places to eat within walking distance. Grocery store and Trader Joe’s really close.

Not great value for the price but it is Santa Barbara after all. Mattress was lacking , cheap . Otherwise it was ok but not great. Walls are thin and I didn’t see an elevator for luggage . Parking was ok though , well lit. No Kleenex supplied in room !

Nicely appointed modern room with lots of pleasant lighting. TV, fridge and microwave all worked great. Convenient in-room large dining table with booth seating and extra chair. Available laundry machines, vending and ice machines. Free, good morning coffee in lobby, friendly and knowledgeable staff.

Safe location, clean room, efficient service.

The front desk guy was cool, but I don’t like the fact that I had to change rooms because of all the bedbugs pretty nasty

Outside stairs and walkways dirty, cigarette butts everywhere, needs power wash, cockroach in refrigerator alive, TV reception on and off weak signal, late night traffic transient population (drugs?), 1guest arguing with 3 people who were trying to get into his truck, mgmt allows freeway contractors rent rooms for out of town workers, loud, especially their commercial diesel large sized trucks idling at 5:00 am before they leave for work. Beds are hard, bathtub has a hole in the bottom with half-assed repair. Overall stay was terrible.

We found cockroachs in the room and the bathroom

My recommendation is to only stay here if you’re desperate and have no other option. The first room we were given was disgustingly dirty- the floor was visibly dirty with hair and dirt, and one of the comforters had a large cigarette/cigar burn in it. We promptly went back to the front desk and asked for another room. That room, while it was in better condition, still had long hairs on the floor, hair and dirt along the baseboards in the bathroom, and smelled like mold. The beds looked clean, and we were exhausted, so that room is where we stayed. Never again!

I stayed in room 141, an ADA room. Checking in the first thing I did was check for bedbugs, it was clear, I was told that the place was very clean. Later on I saw A LOT of very dark mold in the shower walls and floor, spores could be seen in the grout. I advised the front desk, showed pictures and was told I don’t believe there’s mold so I brought them in to see for themselves, they acknowledged it was real. Was told that it’s no different than other rooms. I said that’s not ok anywhere but especially in an ADA room. Someone in ADA is in need of physical support but every room it should be assumed they may also have other issues where someone's system is compromised and inhaling mold in a hot shower is more detrimental than usual. I advised I would not and when leaving I didn’t shower because of this. I was told that maybe the manager can give a discount. I said not the point but would appreciate it. At check out again told them, showed pictures, they also acknowledged it’s real and gross. I again said it wasn’t acceptable and dangerous. Asked for a call back to address with the manager, they’d be in in the afternoon, I filled out a card stating there was mold. 24 hours later nobody followed up. It’s a motel not a 5 star for amenities but cleanliness standards are the same. Photos and videos can be provided. I view this as a management issue more than housekeeping. This is disgusting and if I could give 0 stars I would.

I usually stay at a Motel 6 when I’m in the area, I arrived close to midnight , unfortunately so I was exhausted, but when I got in the room and pulled the blankets back, I found that there were ants crawling on the pillows and the mattress it was a room with Two double beds so I took the other one and it was the same issue then the room was hot and stuffy and it smelled like urine, when I tried to turn the AC unit off it did not work at all so I didn’t bother to complain and a lot of construction workers so I was a little creeped out and didn’t want to go down there by myself. I barely slept, and when I did not off, I was able to feel ants crawling on my face. It was an awful experience.

Wi-Fi can be and need to be improved for some rooms.

Good location for airport. Plenty of restaurants. Room VERY small for two double beds. Human hair in bathroom sink.

Very affordable, but rooms are too small

Noisey air conditioners. Had mine off could still hear the neighbors. Loud person upstairs. Loud people in early AM (before 7 am). Traffic loud on 101 freeway all night & day. Lesson learned on Motel 6. Never again.

I was in room 133. Loud from road traffic. Otherwise decent place to stay.

The room was clean. The beds were uncomfortable. And this next comment is not the hotel's fault, however, if you're going to stay here, please know it is VERY NOISY outside and the walls are thin. We did not sleep well.

This is probably my 5th/ 6th stay. Rooms like 104 is extremely noisy being on the side of the freeway despite door and window closed. W-Fi is very poor or non existent. Even personal hotspots do not work.

Clean place. A bit noisy at times but not terrible. The sheets didn't have a natural fiber in them and were on the coarse side. The bed had a bit of a central bowl, but I've had worse.

The room was one of the smallest doubles I've ever stayed in, both beds shoved against the walls with a narrow aisle between them, very dated interior, bedframes falling apart. A lot of mdf furniture in poor condition.

The smallest hotel room I have ever stayed in. No room at all to even move with two guests. More suited for one bed and one guest.

I want to comment about the phone service I had with the front desk agent. He was professional, and courteous, and my request for a disabled room was accommodated when I arrived late at night. Thanks

The staff were particularly unfriendly. We arrived early so we couldn't check in. That is OK, but there was NO option for leaving bags in a safe space and even staying within the property was considered "loitering", so they would call the police. This was mentioned in a very unfriendly manner. They claimed that this was an order from the manager.

Check-in was definitely sub-optimal. The card reader/coder wasn't working, so we couldn't get keys. The desk clerk opened the door for us, but obviously we couldn't come and go as we wanted, without having the clerk open the door again. This continued the next morning. I honestly don't recall ever having this issue, so we were definitely unpleasantly surprised...

The area was nice, plenty of walking distance things to do. The staff, more directly an older man that worked night shift during our stay was horrible. My sister in law and I planed a quick overnight trip with our kids & stayed in separate rooms. Our key cards were faulty all day. Later that night, she goes outside to lock her car when her room door closes behind her. She goes to open it and the key won’t work. She’s knocking hoping one of the kids wakes up to open but they don’t. She goes to request a new key, doesn’t work. Continues knocking, kids still sleeping. Requests a new key and is told she will be charged for a new one. Then she starts banging on the door hoping to get the kids to wake up. Mind you they are 1 & 7 and just spent 4hrs in the car and a full day of zoo, beach and pool activities. I go down to request a key for her and get met with all my booking info saying he sees we have the same area code and live in the same city and we were partying all night and accused of leaving all kids in one room while adults are in the other room, which was a made up scenario in his head, and then threatening me to be put on a no book list. Anyway, people started complaining of her banging on the door and was kicked out around 1:30/2am and had a 4hr drive back home.

The manager refused to let me in and never gave me a reason other than that I was on a “list”.

We are pleasantly surprised by this Motel 6. The staffs are polite, engaging and helpful. The room has all the basic needs, clean and good fresh neutral smell (no cleaning chemical smell nor bad odor). Complimentary coffee and tea in the morning is a plus. We enjoyed the stays.

Rude and unacomidating

I needed a place close to the college and this was the basics of all I needed.

Convenient to UCSB. And a great coffee shop next door.

Convenient for airport

Clean and Easy for an early early flight out of Santa Barbara.

Motel 6 is really good basic value. Clean room, plenty of hot water, good water pressure. Pool appears ni e and clean but did not use. Easy to walk to Dune Coffee Roasters, Albertson 's grocery, Sprouts, Yougertland, pizza, Chinese, etc. Something for everyone. Easy hwy 101 access. As single woman, felt perfectly safe.

Comfortable beds and nice bathrooms! Staff very friendly. Central location and only minutes from the airport.

Area surrounding has options for food and entertainment.

The surrounding city of Goleta is very nice to walk around to grab brunch, shop for snacks, or enjoy a nice dinner. The area is very safe and the property was located in a very convenient area that's only a 2 minute drive away from nearby stores. I would recommend it for anyone wanting to stay in Goleta for a weekend trip.

Great little stop, conveniently located next to the freeway and gas stations, cvs, grocery stores and dining facilities. Not far from Downton SB and local beaches .

Close to stores and food places. Did not like that there was no coffee in the rooms. Other than that great area and stay.

Lots of conveniences around the motel. There is a Walgreens across from the motel for any needs. Short drive to gas station. Walking distance to dune coffee roaster for coffee. Nearby there is Cajun Kitchen that is excellent for breakfast and lunch.

Room shabby, shelf shaky/loose and slightly down sloping. Corner couch was also slightly down sloping, so you would slide off of it. Hue of the lights was warehouse 6000k like. Had one towel for us to share. One day, they hung up our towel, didn't make our bed? No coffee maker in room - but they have coffee in the lobby, or so they say. First morning we were informed that the coffee 'literally ran out at 6 something'. So, we did not get any coffee that day?!! Final concern - the parking lot may be too small - all spaces were filled after dinner on one of our nights, making me nervous, if we had arrived later in the evening. Overall, there is no chance I would recommend this motel.

Pros: lots of restaurants close by and shopping and warmest pool we had the whole holiday. Cons: freeway close by and no coffee machine in the room

This motel excellent convenience. Close to freeway entrance. A lot of dining options within walking distance. American, Thai, Japanese, Chinese and Indian. Pizza etc Albertsons and Trader Joe only a block down. The area is quiet and safe. Very close to UC Santa Barbara. The room is clean and bed is very comfortable. Easy parking. It even has room service. Dog friendly. Big free cable TV. Only one down side my room a little bit tight but big bathroom include microwave and refrigerator. I am very satisfied for my stay.

Very convenient near restaurants and stores (walkable)

Very basic . Yet not so cheap. No coffee machine of any kind. Office offers "coffee" in thermos from 6 to 10 but it's super diluted and barely warm. Staff is nice though

My room was so clean, and the bed was quite comfortable. Love having a mini fridge, and microwave in the room. The lady who checked me in was so kind., and helped me with my TV remote when i couldn't figure it out. Coffee was provided in the office the next morning, and it was quite delicious.. (I always bring my own creamer ) Great value for the $$.
