Plantation Hotel Coffs Harbour

Staff were excellent but the room wasn’t up to standard. No fridge in room. There was a kitchen but didn’t like to put food there in case it was taken. The shower was awful, very hard to manage - couldn’t get it off boiling, the fan wasn’t working. I thought the room was quite expensive. Went for a meal at the hotel and that was ok.

The staff were amazing from the moment I called to let them know I was running late, right through to when I left. Everything was so convenient and close by, which made the whole experience even better.

Very clean and tidy, in both the room and shared bathroom facilities. Our family with kids stayed on a Friday night. No pub noise at all, and only occasional noise from trucks braking. The aircon was a bit noisy, but that was just background white noise. A bit too much air freshener fragrance in the hallway, but otherwise a very pleasant budget stay.

The staff were helpful and friendly throughout my stay, which I appreciated. However, there were a few things that really affected my experience. The most frustrating issue was the hot water — the staff were already aware it wasn't working in my room, yet nobody informed me until I had to complain myself. They did move me to another room to shower, which I appreciated, but they should have been upfront about it from the start. One absolute highlight, however, was the pub food — it was excellent, easily deserving a 5 out of 5. If you’re staying here, make sure you eat there; it truly stood out as the best part of the experience. The hotel itself is clean and has clearly been renovated, which is a plus given its age. Unfortunately, the beds were not comfortable at all — a significant drawback considering a good night's sleep is the whole point of a hotel stay. To make matters worse, the hotel sits on a busy main road, and the noise at night was considerable. I had to use noise-cancelling AirPods just to get a few hours of sleep. The staff's friendliness is genuinely a highlight, but between the communication around maintenance issues, the uncomfortable beds, and the road noise, I'd find it hard to recommend without some honest warnings
