There is a pungent odour as soon as you enter reception. Room 6 would appear to be above a train station, where trains loudly rumble past until around 10pm, and recommence at 6.15am. The room was dated with an old carpet and furniture . Towel rail in the bathroom and skirtings hidden by the furniture were manky. Bed was comfy enough. The kitchen or some other staff quarters is below where they have a “who can talk the loudest” competition. Breakfast was good but had to go to Costa afterwards to get a decent coffee. Would I recommend this place…No.

Staff are great and helpful. Our room, on the second floor, was too far away to get internet to make the smart tv function. Our room was quite noisy facing the road and the railway. Other than those small gripes it’s a lovely friendly place with a good breakfast. The staff did all they could to fix the TV problems.
