I didn’t mind the street noise and planes but some would. The lounge is by far the best booze prices. Like late 1990s prices. Cheapest booze in all of Canada!!!! Way to go Average Joe’s. The average Jane and Joe can actually afford to have a few at this lounge.

We found the room to be quite dated but the biggest letdown was not having the hot tub available. We book our rooms according to the facilities offered. We were expecting the hot tub to be working and is shut down indefinitely. The pool and the water slide were open but totally unacceptable. They have construction going on and one whole outside wall is only covered by a tarp. The weather conditions outside were not nice and pool area was cold enough that my glasses fogged when leaving and I could see my breath. When I asked at the desk the hours of operation for the pool area I was not told about hot tub or construction or the unacceptable temperatures. Will NOT return to this hotel. The sports bar in lobby was great. Food and service highly recommended

I choose this hotel because it was near Polo Park and Olive Garden. And an additional bonus was the pool with a water slide, a hot tub and a wading pool. I would stay here again

Hotel was so run down, pool/hot tub was closed with no prior communication, hair dryer in the room didn’t work and when I called down to the front desk they said they would send someone - maintenance showed up over an hour later. Could hear all the traffic outside even from the 5th floor. Hallways smelled awful. Walls in the room were patched with different colors of paint. No vanity in the bathroom - didn’t match pictures. Had I not been so tired from traveling all day I would have found another hotel to go to.

Upon arrival, the bald gentleman at the front counter could have been more receiving. I appreciate that all rooms may not be ready at exactly 15:00 but when I walked up to the counter, he barks, "Housekeeping isn't ready. Sit down over there and you'll be called up one at a time." I felt like I was being chastised. My Deaf son asked me why he was angry. He could sense the attitude just from the look on his face without hearing a word spoken. The room was somewhat dusty. I wrote my name in the dust on the nightstand. When we were in the first room 225, I was shocked when I opened up the blinds and all I could see was different material strewn around in what looked like a breezeway of some sort. May I suggest that the front counter staff welcome guests first and foremost to the Viscount Gort. My son was grateful that the woman at the front counter had some signability. That was a pleasant surprise. The headboards were dust-free so maybe the cleaner may have been hasty in cleaning. The bathroom was spotless. Perhaps the rooms with windows that peer into a storage area could be painted over with a mural. It really is an unpleasant sight. In the hospitality industry success depends heavily on "soft skills" like empathy. Checking a guest in is not a favour. It's a service. Thank you to the woman who retrieved my things from the first room (225) that we were in.

The hallways were filthy room was not very clean windows were all full of fingerprints, bathroom was old and not clean, there was a hanger under the sheets in one of the beds, fridge and microwave were dirty and all lopsided

This hotel is not very clean. There were no fitted sheets on the beds, only flat sheets that didn’t stay tucked in so if you tossed and turned at all you ended up on the bare mattress, which was completely disgusting - stained and full of crumbs and all kinds of gunk. The hallway carpets are filthy. Also the “view” from our window was into some kind of storage area full of mattresses and furniture. The hot tub was out of order and the wifi didn’t work at all the three days we were there.

Parking was ok, the lobby was ok but had an overall old building smell all over the building. Our room wasn’t cleaned properly. There was some questionable red smear on the bathroom wall. Crumbs on the floor and beds. The carpet off the elevator on our floor was quite dirty.

When arrived, put in 1 room, had filth in drawers, and missing remote. Was moved to another room, down the hall, juice sfains on floor, toilet and sink undersides were filthy, others personal things left above closet, bathroom was moldy, wall paper all curled away from edges, lock latch was broken off, heater/ac unit had food and dirt all thriugh the vents. Left shoes behind in the first room, and the cleaning lady currently cleaning it told me she didnt find any shoes, but when i checked her trash she had thrown them away. I asked her why she did, why she wouldnt put them in lost and found, or bring them to my new room, as i know she was told that room was being cleaned because of the issues we experienced. The pool area was clean, plenty of towels. The front desk staff was verybpmeasant and quick to assist; not their fault for a messy room..... that falls on the cleaners and the managers for not monitoring and correcting issues as they arise.

-Pool/staff was ok -no exterior window -shower curtain was about to fall off -light over bathroom sink was burnt out -paint obviously applied to bathroom door while closed (different colours) -clogged bathtub drain left 3-4” standing water in about 1-2 mins -beds weren’t attached to headboards and kept sliding away from them -cable channels didn’t line up with guide and were very basic -the Coup De Grace…used women’s underwear left in closet from previously guest, gross! Next time I would rather sleep in a rental vehicle

The room was fine, the king sized bed was hard and not very comfortable. The mattress had a stain on it as well; definitely needs to upgrade. The bathroom drains were clogged and clearly not maintained. The bathroom was cramped when the bedroom had plenty of extra space so not sure what happened there. We heard everything the other people were doing across the hall at 2am which shouldn’t really be happening. They should consider some sound proofing the rooms better. We heard traffic all night and barely slept. The hallway walls wallpaper are yellow and peeling. There was a stain on the floor outside our room. There were random fuse panels open and not locked shut on multiple floors. Average Joe’s lounge was good though, pretty fairly priced and the service was good. The pool and waterslide were fun but otherwise not worth it.

The guy at the desk checked me in quickly but I seemed a bit of an annoyance despite the empty lobby. I thought I knew this hotel but the room assigned is right over a huge intersection. There is no sound effort to block any of the road of the roaring of truck traffic and emergency vehicles. The concrete of bridge echos it all into the room. I thought “they must be aware” and enquired as to whether or not they might have earplugs available. At least add a note to the website mentioning the noise issue - bring earplugs. Nothing. No sleep and a big early morning meeting ahead. ☹️ Otherwise, the basics are here.

Stay was OK. The room was oddly large and empty, very little furnishings and very echoey. You could hear the room next to yours talking through the wall and everyone up or down the hall. The fire station is near by so every emergency call you could hear the sirens, not the hotels fault just something to note. The room we stayed in had a bathroom with a very small toilet and very small bathroom sink, the shower was wiped down but it was not clean. the bed did not have a fitted sheet, just 2 flat sheets. We did request an extra pillow and the staff were very good. Did not have a chance to eat at the hotel but heard the breakfast buffet is amazing from locals. Would stay here again only if the pricing was right, for $200 /night it did not seem like the best value for what it was. Staff was great, location was okay, parking was okay, hotel rooms seem to need some upgrades to reflect pricing.

When we checked into the king, the room was very nice. The downside was it was facing the pool so it was really load with kids screaming and bed was completely sunk in the middle, how that even passed inspection from a supervisor is beyond me. So after a day of travelling, it was disappointing to get there and have that room. Thankfully The guy at the front desk who was working the evening shift was extremely accommodating and moved us rooms. That room was large, still very nice but was very loud, almost like an echo when you spoke. Plus it over looked a busy road so it was extremely noisy all night as well. The bed was very very hard. Both my husband and I had sore backs when we woke up in the morning. It was like sleeping in cement. We have stayed here many times over the years, this being the first time since Covid, and have never had any issues before. So a bit disappointing. The brunch served on second floor was good. Staff were polite and friendly. Not sure if we would return in the future for the price I paid and the discomfort.

Staff (Jodi) was racist belingerant and used vulgar language against the indigenous peoples of Winnipeg . The outrageous behaviour towards guests checking in was the worst experience I’ve faced . As an indigenous person this would not be tolerated and I am going public to shut down this hotel based on the racism and threats towards First Nations of Manitoba . The Marlborough hotel was shut down based on words and facts as what I’m going to do with the Viscourt Gort

I would never stay here again. Rude staff right from check in. Urine caked all over my room toilet seat. Blood on my bed ( the staff member at the front desk told me house keeping was unavailable at this time and she didn’t know if she could get me a new blanket or not ) it took hours to find me a new blanket with no blood after me having to call back and remind her twice. No apology no nothing. Overall the room was very dirty and the front desk staff were rude. When we asked for a new room or refund due to the poor conditions of our room we were told no and no efforts were made to rectify the situation. They didn’t even ask me how my stay was when I checked out - likely because they knew it was terrible. Very disappointed in my stay while I was there.

As a hotel guest, the service was excellent. Room very clean and quiet. Pool area clean and serviced. Food in bar is connected to kitchen so not just bar food, really good food! Security was vigilant. Staff friendly and accomodating.

i was able to book a reservation with my debit card and when we came to check in the lady at the front desk was extremely rude and unprofessional. she told us we needed a credit card or we couldn’t stay and she would not refund us. she lied and told us she was the manager, she wouldn’t tell us her name when we asked. When i tried talking to her she said “i’m not talking to you, i’m talking to him” referring to my fiancée. We waited 2 hours to check in at 3 am. don’t waste your time here.

Check in was very unwelcoming. Asked for a room on the same floor as my friend, but since we booked through Expedia , they “pre-assigned” the room.. We have booked at other hotels through Expedia, and the hotel staff CAN change what room you are in. Phone didn’t work in room. Vending machines on first floor inoperative. Overall, not a welcoming hotel. First and last time.

Nice having a restaurant and lounge on site. Another plus....next to Red Lobster and Olive Garden. Polo park mall is across the street. Jets game was a 15 dollar cab ride or dame for Uber.

Great location close to everything great dining with its own small sports bar.....however very close to the highway lots of sirens all night......cars revving and zooming all night long and rooms are not very sound proof in those regards had to use ear plugs and it barley drowned out the noise at all.

Room was basic but clean and renovated.The king bed was VERY comfortable.Unfortunately, you can hear the traffic from ur room.The hallways seem to be from the 80's, at least in the area I stayed. Bar staff is awesome. Food is good. Prices decent. Definitely needs some internal upgrades. For the price, it was a decent place to stay. The Sunday buffet is worth the $25 esp if you are hungry. Great selection.

Overall, it was good. We couldn't get in to our room as we were 15 minutes early, and the restaurant was closed for dinners. Also, it's only plastic cups in our room, but the bar was helpful. I would definitely stay here again..
