I don’t know where you buy scrambled eggs and sausages but they are horrible. Even my cats didn’t want to eat sausage I brought. And those eggs felt like they were made out of plastic or silicone, no egg flavor at all. Please don’t feed people that nasty stuff. But in overall our stay was good. I used swimming pool and hot tub. Good location, not far from Bridge View Center.

Great pool great location for walking

Overall great hotel and very beautiful. The day manager and staff are very friendly. The pool area is huge! The breakfast bar was always well maintained. Parking was safe and convenient. The only downfalls were the TVs are old and sometimes didn’t work. We also booked 2 queens but our room had a king bed and an old pull out couch that was more like a full bed. We’ve already considered staying here again on our next visit.

This hotel is being renovated. Very comfortable beds and the water pressure is amazing! The pool was a good size and warm. Staff was friendly. An added bonus would be to upgrade tvs to Smart tvs.

Stay was good! Staff was very helpful and kind! The pool was warm and the hot tub was amazing! Beds were comfy to sleep!

The hot tub was warm, but dirty and the jets didn't have any power behind them.

First room had no vanity light, got moved. Whole place was dirty, unkept and pool and hot tub dirty and did not work.

Stayed with the family for a weekend. It’s clean enough, friendly staff, kids liked the pool, decent breakfast. You get exactly what you pay for and I appreciate that.

First off, our room was incredibly clean which is number one for me. However, the hotel was going through a renovation which was not mentioned. I had planned on working at the hotel, but there was so much noise I had to make a different plan. Also, there was a lot of dust and rolled up carpet and other renovation items laid out all over the floor. I understand how that goes, but it would have been nice to have that communicated ahead of time.

I was checked into a room that hadn't ben cleaned. Once the room was changed, there was no shampoo nor tissues in the room

This property is not only clean, it is well maintained. The staff is very friendly, and the beds were extremely comfortable. And they have an elevator, which is heavenly for business travelers like me who have to travel heavy. I've had over 50 hotel stays this year, and this was one of the best. A great value!

Stayed in a suite. Had a jet tub. Seemed very clean. NO BEDBUGS. Second time I’ve stayed and will most likely continue to in the future

When I checked in they gave me a room key and sent me to a room that was already occupied. I walked in on someone else. After that traumatic experience I went all the way back downstairs with all of my bags. Then without apology they sent me to another room. That room reeked of cigarette smoke even though it’s supposed to be non smoking. So back downstairs I have to go, carrying all my bags again. Then again without apology they sent me to a room where half the things were broken and it only smelled mildly of smoke (they had left the window open to reduce the smell). It was 10pm and I had no where else to go so I stayed in that third room I immediately requested to cancel the 2nd nights stay, but they said I had to talk to hotels.com. I spent an hour talking to hotels.com who insisted that there’s nothing they could do and that the hotel itself needs to approve the cancellation. The hotel owner continued to insist that they couldn’t cancel and only hotels.com could cancel it. I spent an hour trying to figure it out that night until past 11pm. Then I had to spend another hour the next morning (waking up at 6am). This is all while I’m supposed to be getting ready for a business conference and have other work to do. There’s more to this horrible story but the end result is that i had to pay for two nights even though i only stayed one. Turns out hotel manager was lying the whole time and could have easily refunded it. Just greed. Person at front desk was named Pinal

Check in was great - no issues as usual. Get to my room and stench of cat urine hits you in the face. It’s ridiculously disgusting. After driving in tornado like weather for 9 hours & knowing the hotel was full, I decided to tough it out as I would only be there one night & to sleep only. Opened up windows and sprayed some wrinkle release (closest I had to an air freshener) & it seemed to help for a bit. After an hour my asthma started to act up as I’m highly allergic to cats. Kept having to use my inhaler & finally fell to slept around 12:30ish. Was then woken up to loud noises from outside my door. Someone was running around slamming & beating on doors. VERY LOUDLY!! Called front desk & was advised that they didn’t know what was going on but it would be taken care of. It wasn’t. About ten minutes later it happened again. I felt very concerned for my safety. Gal at front desk finally informed me it wasn’t a guest doing do & the police were handling it. How does a non-guest enter so late when you have to have a key card. Got very little sleep, had to drive another 9 hours & my asthma is still bothering me. At checkout I was pretty much told that a room smelling like cat piss & feeling unsafe was my responsibility to deal with & to have a nice day. I’m a loyal customer and won’t stay anywhere else. I always leave my room in great condition. Virtually clean & I’m always respectful. NOT HAPPY, DISGUSTED & DISAPPOINTED TO SAY THE LEAST!

This has always been our go-to hotel when we stay in Ottumwa. It’s usually clean and well maintained with a decent breakfast selection This trip was a little bit different. We were given a handicapped accessible room which was a surprise and that would have been ok but the shower grout had mold/mildew in the lower half. Also the toilet had some kind of wooden lid on it that was covered in black mold on the bottom side. We opened it because the mold in the shower couldn’t account for the strong smell after a couple of days. Also, the card lock entry side entrance, which was the closest to our room, only worked the first day or so. They said it was just “resetting” itself and it should work but it never did again. We didn’t get our towels replaced even when we didn’t have the “do not disturb” on the door. Good thing we weren’t there long enough to take a lot of showers! I think this property it not being maintained as well as it was for the last 20 years or so. Sad to see.

The recently remodeled rooms are cosy and well kept for the price point.

Very clean, spacious room located downtown

Since the last time I stayed here, the hotel appears to have changed their television service and they now have ROKU TV. No instructions were provided anywhere in the room or the guest information booklet, to offer suggestions on optimal operation. So, in addition to having to do a lot of work to try to make it function at all, the entire time I was trying to watch anything at all, including regular TV, the channels were exceptionally hard to find and the TV was buffering every 3-4 minutes all night long, which was highly unsatisfactory. I had a whirlpool in my room, no instructions for operation were provided for those who might need them. You have to get out and reset every 12-15 minutes, none of the jets put out much power at all, and it was definitely not worth the extra money for that type of room. The hotel and room were clean. The mattress was comfortable, but bed was made in a manner that it was impossible to pull up the sheets and bedspread far enough to fully cover up and be comfortable.

Great stay. We had to switch rooms because the first room the bed was slanted. But they had another room ready and the stay was very nice.

It’s located conveniently. Good water pressure. Bed was way too soft, like needing upgraded. Didn’t like the pillows. Guy at checkout didn’t say anything-no thank you, just uncaring. Just a mediocre motel.

We stayed one night at this hotel and although our room was clean and beds where comfy, the desk light was flashing and didn’t work, the mini fridge was full of ice and the door wouldn’t close properly, the outlets where loose and the TV didn’t have any weather or news, just a few Radom channels. In the evening my husband went down to grab me a coffee and it was cold, don’t know how long it had been sitting. The toilet seat was very loose. Water pressure was good. At breakfast, napkins were missing and when I made a waffle the blueberry topping jar was empty. Overall I would not stay here again.

Our stay was excellent! The desk manager was very helpful and even helped carry our luggage to the room!

We couldn’t get our TV to work when we arrived to our room. After many tries, we called the front desk. The front desk woman came to our room and tried to figure it out to no avail. She said she was going to send her manager to the room, he came into our room and complained about his “stupid staff,” hit something on a remote, tossed it at me, then left the room, now complains about “his staff are idiots.” The front desk lady may not have figured out the television, but she was kind and friendly. I feel bad that she has to work for that ogre of a man.

I booked online and paid in advance, at check in i bad to pay again even tho i showed my confirmation paid bank statement etc...after paying again 45 minutes later i carry all my stuff to 2nd floor to enter a dirty room. Lugʻ all my stuff back down stairs for diffrent roomand the tv not workcorrectly in room first night. The breakfast eggs were not even done runny. So even a refund does not satisfy cuz i laud2 times and a redund us just giving back my second payment ....terrible experience!!

We stayed 3 nights family of 4.The front desk staff were amazing! They made sure we had everything we needed and were so sweet to our kids. You can tell that they work really hard to keep the hotel in top shape and visitors happy. The property was clean and the pool and hot tub were very nice.

The staff was welcoming and the room clean and quiet. I was attending a reunion. My friend from high school checked in before me and asked that we be given adjoining rooms. It was so nice of the front desk to arrange this! When I left I realized I had left something in the room. I called and Anna assured me that it was safe and already in a box ready to be shipped to me. I provided a shipping label and received my forgotten item within just a few days. Thanks Anna!

I always stay at this hotel when traveling to Ottumwa/ Wapello County, Iowa, for work. Such friendly staff and always willing to go the extra mile! Great little place in a great little town--and near the best Mexican restaurant ever, as well (Tequila Grill). Yay!

The staff was friendly at check in. The breakfast was good with lots of options. Our room was clean and comfortable.

It is very convenient to the places we wanted to go downtown and we could walk to them.

Central location in town

Clean, affordable, comfortable motel right in the middle of town. Kind and helpful staff. Rooms a bit worn but kept tidy. Fine for a night or two

The hotel is in an off area, kind of desolate at night. With some decent options for a meal and drinks. The bedrooms were nothing special, but they were clean.

Quiet and convenient. We'll stay there again.

Breakfast wasn’t properly maintained, so most of the food and coffee were gone before 7:00 am.

Nice hotel with a central location. Clean rooms. Breakfast isn’t the best but few of those free ones are. Spa needs maintenance.

Traveling for a funeral and timing was a bit off with check in. They were very accomodating. The room was clean, had the essentials and was good sized. Bed was comfortable.......tiny pillows were even pretty good. Nice hot shower and breakfast was good. Were not picky travelers but this was a great overnight stay. Thank you.

Very clean and refurbished. Television didn't sync up with their provider service (older TVs) and had to have help from desk to get it to work - told to "not use the TV guide." So, that did work. Seems there is a fee to use the pool. The provided breakfast could be better. The biscuits and gravy.....not too great. Good toast, coffee....did not try the make-your-own waffle. Juices were watered down or concentrate ran out. Staff was really great. Overall a good stay.
