Cobblestone Hotel & Suites - Ottumwa

We were there for a concert at the Bridgeview Center which was just a short walk across the parking lot. Fortunately we hadn't planned to swim in the pool because it was closed due to construction issues.

We booked a room because we had reservations for dinner at Wissota Chophouse. We didn't want to drink and drive. The room was very big, clean, nice. Very friendly and helpful staff.

We ate downstairs at the Wissota Chophouse. The food was very good but it was also extremely expensive for the atmosphere The entire hotel was very clean. Would stay again.

This hotel is top class all of the way. I highly recommend the in house chophouse. Extremely friendly bartender and wait staff. The menu is off the chart. Top quality hotel all the way around.

Location is good. The pool was cold and very salty.

Great restaurant

I've stayed at this property twice now, and will never do so again. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. It's a new hotel, so on both occasions a few expected "bugs" came up that were due to builder/contractor issues, not the hotel/staff, and both times they handled the situation perfectly for me. The fatal flaw in this hotel design that will prevent me from ever staying there again: parking. They share a parking lot with the Bridge View Center. When anything at all is going on there, you will not be able to park anything close to walking distance to the hotel with your family/luggage. They accommodated me by allowing me to just leave my car sitting in the middle of their front door until the event ended at about 10:30PM. Not ideal if you have kids with you and you need to make a trip outside to move your car so late. They claim it will be better when a new lot is completed, but that new lot is so small it really will make no difference given how many other lots nearby were totally full. How the city of Ottumwa approved the construction of this hotel with zero dedicated parking is beyond belief. If you don't mind walking several blocks, by all means stay here - it's a pretty decent hotel. But if you actually want to park in a lot near the hotel, stay elsewhere!

Hotel doesn’t have dedicated parking. First night an event at the Convention Center left NO parking for hotel guests. Biscuits and gravy were only available on Sunday morning.

Hotel was nice but pool was done. Was going to relax in the pool after traveling.

Very nice hotel. Restaurant on premises very pricey, limited selection. Norhing else close to walk to.

Food overpriced. Only one burger on the menu and burnt. Pubic hairs in my bathroom and shower and our phone was broke in our room as well as the ax unit

I don’t like complaining. But I have to be brutally honest if I have a bad experience at a hotel. I stayed at the cobblestone hotel in ottumwa on Friday, 8/29/25. I checked in at 3:00. My room 205 was on the 2nd floor & the window is completely blocked by the canopy out front. I go to the front desk and ask if I can have a different room. They asked if I had already been up there. Well duh! That’s how I saw the monstrous black thing blocking the window. She said, “housekeeping already left”. There are no more King suites like the one I booked. I asked if I could get a discount on the room. She couldn’t do that. She wouldn’t even offer me a free bottle of water. They’re sitting in the room for sale $5 each! I deserved something to say “we apologize that your room has a completely blocked view”. But apparently, keeping a room with zero view was better than the other side of the hotel that faced the highway, “people said it was very noisy” according to the front desk clerk. The ceilings are made out of paper because the guy upstairs was either Bigfoot or a man on a horse. It was boom boom boom for about an hour. The lightbulb in the bathroom was flickering and I swear I almost had a stroke. I couldn’t even take a shower because the strobe light was really affecting my eyes! I will never stay at this hotel again & I do not recommend it. The one single highlight was the restaurant attached to the hotel. The Happy Hour was 4-6, 1/2 price beers, on a perfect night on the patio.

The internet was not good

We liked this property when we stayed before on third floor but not as much this time, because on second floor the street light on the west side shines in our window. They really need to get black out curtains that close all the way when the street lights can shine in, not just sheer curtains for the middle of the window. We love the cleanliness and the shower is great, and lots of towels. Just bring a clothespin to close the black out side curtains a little more so the light does not shine in your eyes if on second floor.

The breakfast had limited selection of food. Also there tv didn’t have local stations to check weather or news. Also there tv didn’t broadcast any NFL games. There were several guest who complained about not having any games on their tv

You get no local stations. So don't stay there on Sunday expecting to watch football. The beds were hard for it besides that the place was fantastic it was great

Nice overall stay. Was just there for a mid-week family visit, not for an event next door. Nice rooms but some noticeable neighbor room plus highway/street noise during the night.

The hotel is really nice - great spaces. I think it was a less than ideal experience with my room and reservations but would not base my opinion on just that. I was able to secure a room on Expedia for half of what their reservations team could offer. The gentleman I spoke to said that my room would not be guaranteed at that price and that I should book with him. My room was nice but my lamps by the bed didn’t work and I couldn’t get the air temp to go up so I was cold all night and could not sleep. I would def give this hotel another try. Room was nice and clean, comfortable bed. Great shower.

I asked for a 6 am wake up call. It came through at midnight. I called the desk to reset it to 6 am. It never came through

Staff did not know how to print a receipt for bottled water or candy and chips. Staff also did not inform us the shorter hours for congenital breakfast during the week as posed to the weekend. Our stay was Monday / Tuesday. Other than that the stay was very good. We have a wedding gumming up in Sept. and plan on staying at Cobblestone.

Attended a concert at the Bridgeview Center and the hotel was conveniently located within walking distance. The hotel staff were super friendly and helpful. Will definitely book again if ever in the area for events.

Hotel was new, very clean and comfortable, with an excellent restaurant on site. Only downside was yahoos doing donuts in the nearby parking lot at 2 a.m. with subwoofers booming.

The hotel is right next to the Bridge View Center so it is really convenient if you are attending an event there. There are lots of dining choices near by. The hotel is very nice and clean. The staff is great too.

I travel a lot. This hotel was absolutely magnificent. The price was about half of what you’d expect for a facility like this. Great restaurant too!

Wasn’t fond of the breakfast selection. They had taco meat and tortillas and potatoes….looked like there might have been eggs but pan was gone. Figured they were gonna refill but never did. Had some cereal but both bins had a sugary brand. The breakfast layout didn’t flow very well…had to search for different items.

We were in town for one night visiting family. This hotel was convenient, had easy access to many dining options as well as an upscale restaurant on site. Rooms were clean, had a microwave and refrig., and choice of soft or “hard” pillows. Pool was down for maintenance but we wouldn’t have needed it anyway. Breakfast was very nice-nice variety and even hot options. Parking good, street noise out front but I appreciated the view vs the side facing parking lot. Staff was friendly and welcoming. Will definitely stay again.
