As of this date the pool and jacuzzi is closed for maintenance. We did not see anyone working on it. Their elevator is under construction and a long way from completion. You have to walk up the stairs with any bags you have. There are three floors and the hesitate to give up anything on the first floor. Very disappointing. Check in staff was terrible and refused us a first floor room. I'm 65 need I say more? Breakfast was ok if you like cheese on you eggs and ham and sausage gravy with biscuits.

Excluding the elevator, everything else here was perfect. Our room was spacious and clean, breakfast was delicious although a bit basic, and the hotel is located near lots of restaurants which was nice. The only problem with this location is the elevator. Its tiny, can maybe hold 5 people comfortably without luggage, and moves very slowly between floors.

Hotel very nice transfers the staff. Very nice hot breakfast with good choices. Pool was great my granddaughter love it. Elevator was bing replaced so that was the only downside. I still gave the hotel a 5 rating.

We had a two night stay for a volleyballl tournament over the weekend. We got there and everyone at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. I had read other reviews about the elevator not working but it was while we were there. Rooms were great, very clean and plenty of room. Two things that weren't on the good side: The breakfast area and the swimming pool are rather small. But overall it was a great weekend stay !!!

Hotel and rooms were clean. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast and dining area were very good. And the pool area was great for the kids to swim in. Only thing that would have made this hotel even better would be if their elevator (which has been out for over 9 months), had been fixed.

The property was really clean, but the elevator didn’t work and there was no control on the hot tub as far as the Jets. Would have gave a higher score, but they really need to address the elevator. It’s a three floor building. I don’t think many guests want to carry their luggage upstairs, especially elderly. I was informed that the elevator had been down for quite a while.

I knew Mattoon would have limited areas to stay however this was reviewed well. The elevator was broken so we had to go up 3 flights of stairs, and the hot tub was broken. Our key stopped working but they quickly fixed it, it was just inconvenient. The breakfast that was included was ok, nothing outstanding. Had the basics, which is all we needed. When we checked in the room was set at 54-degrees! I will stay somewhere else next time I’m in town

We got there it was overly dirty. Beer cans were left in our bathroom, you could see the white and yellow stains on the blue couch. The air and elevator did not work and they were not willing to adjust rooms. Half the lights didn't work and there were bugs in our room.

Very convenient. I know the TV remote wasn't cleaned as it had something sticky like frosting on it, easily wiped off. There was a piece of candy on the floor by the wall that was left for us to find. Staff was nice and friendly.

Second time staying here in about two weeks visiting family. Rooms are clean. The pool and hot tub are the stars of the hotel. Breakfast is just fine and gave us what we needed to start our day. Elevator is still broken, making it hard to get items up and down with a family of 5. Wi-Fi is unreliable. I had a hard time connecting to internet most times. It was slow when I did connect.

Bathroom door was really loud when opening or closing in the middle of the night. Woke up my daughter each time. Pillows are these tiny squares. Sink was outside the bathroom so couldn't get ready in the morning and let the other person sleep. Staff was friendly. Room size is generous with couch. First floor window was unlocked upon arrival. Had to ask the young lady about breakfast times and other amenities. Rooms were clean.

It was a fairly dated hotel. Nothing great to be said except the coffee pot sucked. The coffee holder kept falling out and spilling coffee everywhere. Trust your customers with a better built coffee maker. Too cheap for what we'd paid for the room...

The King room was large & comfortable. I thought it was a suite but they said no, but that they also had smaller King rooms. There were 2 tvs and a sofa sectional with pull out bed. This room was substituted for our 2 queen bed room because it was what they had available on the 1rst floor, since the elevator was out of service. My husband is disabled & it would have been difficult to get our bags upstairs.

The check in was a nightmare. A 30 minute wait to check in. Intailly there was no clerk at the desk to check in. There were two gentlemen waiting before me and they said the clerk went with another guest to solve a problem in his room. He returned and processed the first patron but hit a snarl with the second checked in. Finally another person was called to assist in the check in. By that time there were ten people behind us.

This property would not honor my reservation that was paid in full due to some ridiculous rule that I live too close. Sometimes people just need a night away. When I arrived I was turned away even though I had already paid in full. I will never recommend this place to any family or friends coming into town, of which there are many.

They won't clean the room or replace towels unless you ask. Even when you ask, they don't do it. We stayed 6 nights, no room service came even after we asked. Our toilet overflowed at 4 am on the 4th night, and I had to go to the front desk and ask for a plunger to service it myself. We then had to use all the extra towels to dry up the toilet water. After that night we asked for room service to clean and replace towels, they never did. We ended up having to ask for new towels every day we needed them and had a pile of dirty, stinky towels on the floor that they never came to get. Don't stay here.

The hotel staff was great (friendly, helpful, patient), the rooms (I stayed here twice on a round trip) were immaculate and the hotel is convenient to the highway, a Steak-n-Shake (next door) and an Aldi (across the street). I highly recommend this Comfort Inn!

Front desk receptionist dressed in what appeared to be pajamas and looked to be training a new person. Whole experience so unprofessional. Finally got to our room and found a dirty towel hanging in the bathroom. Could only get 2 channels on the tv. We didn’t contact the front desk with our issues because she wouldn’t have done anything. She really shouldn’t have been there. I had some disinfectant wipes with me so wiped things down myself in case the help hadn’t done so. The beds appeared to be clean. Stayed here before but not sure we will stay again.

We enjoyed our overnight stay at Comfort Suites Mattoon, IL. The staff members were very courteous and friendly, the hotel was extremely clean, check-in was quick and easy, breakfast was included, our room was quiet and the bed was comfortable. I only rated it 4 stars because the elevator was not working, however that did not affect us, as our room was on the first floor. The area that the hotel is located in is clean and there are plenty of shopping and dining options nearby. I would highly recommend this hotel.

What we did not like is the sink and tub did not drain well. Also, while we enjoyed the complimentary breakfast, different food choices would be great. There were eggs, ham or beef patties and biscuit and gravy. However sausage links (some trurkey), cooked oats and grits, croissants and chopped potatoes would have also been great
