Great place. We had amazing views from our room. Nicely renovated. We travel with three dogs & we were all comfortable & enjoyed our stay. Can’t wait to return.

I like the cottages because they were different than the ordinary hotel room. Full kitchen is a plus. Parking a little difficult because they are remodeling some other rooms for the better.Wish they had a pool and jacuzzi. Overall loved my stay👍

Charming visit. Room was clean and renovated. Front desk staff was very friendly. Instead of water bottles they have a bottle refill station. Loved the fire pit and that I could text the staff to come turn it on for us. Only downside was the stairs to the beach was closed because of erosion.

We enjoyed this hotel and would stay here again. However, our room, Room 108, was next door to the laundry facility so was intermittently noisy and the was no view due to it being tucked away in a corner. But, that said, the room was very clean, they take pets (Yea!), and we enjoyed the fire pit.

Room was cute upon entrance and seemed newer paint etc. Throughout the night we noticed an increased sewer smell radiating from the bathroom, seemed to come from the shower drain. The lobby was closed already so we had to keep bathroom door shut to control the smell. We did stay on New Years Eve and fire pits on site so close at 10pm and there is a quiet ordinance following that, I reached out to the front desk to see if that still held true due to the holiday and they said yes. Window coverings in room to outside where not privacy coverings or black out; anyone would have been able to see clearly into our room as they walked by the entire evening. Also did not realize I would be charged through hotels.com for the room then the property would charge a pre auth hold for the room amount again plus an additional amount.

Great location and nice property. Nice room with cozy beds. No microwave but I heated some to go food in the lobby. Our shower was a bit mildewy smelling but tolerable. We walked next door to get some beach access and gorgeous views of one of our favorite places!

This place is very cute and conveniently located. They have thick windows to block the noise from the freeway. However, get a room upstairs if you can, because once your neighbor is up, you are up! You can hear it all. The bathroom could definitely be cleaner, mold in the shower. But, everything is nice. Good deal for the price on a Sunday night!

The room was very clean and smelled really good. Perfect size for 2 people and the bathroom is very updated and nice. The only things I didn’t care for was the bed- it was pretty hard but luckily we were only staying for 1 night. The bathroom sink also drained very slowly. Otherwise great stay!

Very quiet and clean. No riff-raff. Worth the money! AC worked great and the king bed was awesome! The bathroom shower was beautiful, and the full-size shampoos, conditioner, body wash, handsoap, and lotion were a nice touch! Even the free makeup remover wipes were a very nice detail. I have not seen that at any other hotel before. Well done!

Real cool spot. I got the 1 bedroom King. Real clean, updated and pretty quiet. I didnt hear anything crazy or super loud. I stayed on a saturday. Good spot to stay if youre checking out Pismo. Also a $40 Uber to SLO or 10 minute drive. I would definitely stay again. I wont stay if prices hike up. Competitive price but i feel like other options might be better at a lower cost. Over all it was all good. Yes, the shower is a little small. Might have dificult fitting two people in it comfortably. Also, yes half the shower door is missing. Yes some water will bounce off you onto the floor near the toulet paper and toilet. If youre careful, you can avoid that. It didnt bother me personally but it is strange to see that. Im not sure if theyre planning on adding something to stop that, but doesbt seem like it.

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience here until about 8pm, when the upstairs guests began making constant noise that went on until at least 3am. My husband eventually had to bang on the ceiling to get them to quiet down. We’re talking heavy footsteps, furniture being dragged, loud bangs from things dropping, and voices so loud we could hear them even with the AC and TV turned up. While I don’t hold this against the Inn itself (the reviews we read suggest this isn’t a common occurrence), the experience was frustrating enough to make us hesitant about staying again. That said, the Inn does have a lot going for it: it’s very cute, conveniently close to Downtown Pismo and the pier, and the dog fee is unbeatable for the area. Staff was very friendly, check-in was a breeze, and our room was clean and surprisingly spacious for its size. My recommendation for future guests: request a top-floor room, or consider booking a cottage, beach house, or ocean-view room to avoid the noise issue we experienced.

This is one of the cleanest motels I have ever been in. It was newly remodeled in late 2024 and remains spotless. It is walking distance, with stairs, to the beach with a longer walk to main part of town. The policies of early and late arrival are rigid. We arrived at 3:10 and although our room was ready we would be charged $20 for the 20min. prior to check in. Never have I encountered this before. The locks on the door quit working at 10:58 before the11am check out. I highly advise an upstairs room as the noise from our rude upstairs "neighbors" kept us up two nights. The floor has minimal noise reduction properties. But with all that said it was a nice room, in a beautiful area and I would stay there again.

Room was clean, a little inconvenient without a dresser or closet but it served its purpose. I misread the property details and thought that there was an area for all the guest to hang out and play corn hole and pool but those areas were specifically designated for only guest that book that specific room. But overall, loved our time spent here

For a quaint remodeled property they did a nice job. The rooms are small but adequate. Not all rooms have an ocean view and we did not see any paths that led to the beach below. The beds are medium hard. So if you're used to a pillow topper mattress, these aren't for you. No closet. Walking distance to nice restaurants in the area.

We normally stay in SLO but decided to try something new and this little place was great! Its an older hotel that is getting some new life (they were doing some renovations while we were there - to other units). The views are really nice and we didn't have a balcony or patio...but enjoyed the little spots to sit and enjoy the view on the path and bigger patio area. Staff was very helpful (our key cards stopped working) and friendly!

Checking in was a breeze no hassle. The guy working the front desk was very Helpful and very Friendly. Our Cottage was very clean. I would say from a scale of 1 to 10 I would give our cottage a 7. The couch and chairs were not comfortable to sit on. Our front door had a big gap. Bug's were getting in. Also our view of the ocean from the chairs had a big plant covering our view.

the first night was not great. The overhead light did not work, the phone line was dead so I couldn’t contact the front desk, and there was tangled hair in the shower drain. The next morning, we awoke to the sounds of workmen grinding something on the roof of our top floor room. I texted the front desk and they quickly stopped the workmen. They were apologetic and scheduled a time for their maintenance and housekeeping to fix the issues that was convenient to me. I left to do some sightseeing. When I came back, everything was fixed and working! The staff was very apologetic and accommodating. The next day when it came to check out, they even waived some of my fees! I understand that the lodging was a older seaside facility so it makes sense that things would breakdown. But what won me over was the service that I received from the staff 😊😊. They did not make up excuses nor questioned my complaints. They took ownership once they heard my concerns. After addressing the room issues, they even went above and beyond by waiving some of my fees!

It’s just a couple of miles from the Pismo Pier, with plenty of beach access points nearby. I highly recommend Blast & Brew for great food and excellent service. Tides In treats you like family, making check-in and check-out a breeze. The rooms are clean, spacious, and equipped with a fridge and coffee maker. Plus, the big-screen TVs make it easy to unwind after a day at the beach. The property is just steps from the sand, offering incredible views and breathtaking sunsets. There are comfortable seating areas to relax, play cornhole, or simply people-watch. It’s also just a short drive to Avila Beach, adding even more to explore. Overall, The Tides Ocean View Inn & Cottages was the perfect getaway—well worth the time and money. I’ll definitely be staying here again.

Wish we had known of the major remodeling in progress. The rooms will be a great improvement once complete. The views were great. Pet friendly! Highway traffic noise was excessively loud. Not overly impressed. Maybe will try again when remodel is done. Staff told me it was my fault for not knowing of remodel because we booked thru Expedia. What???

The property was nice. The room was small but very clean. The walls were thin where you could hear outside noise, but it was quiet property. They had plenty of parking. The parking lot was dark because their sign was off or out. We checked in after 10pm, so it was a little weird going to the hotel next to them to check in but the staff there were very nice, her name was Silva. The staff at the property were also nice. They allowed dogs which was great! They had fire pits, chairs, and even a view point to see the ocean. We sat there and drank some mimosas while watching the waves. Great for a quick getaway.

Grandson found a hair in the sheets, coffee pot worked once, no microwave, broken shutters and windows. Only one outlet so much needed fan and small frig were on same outlet. Very nice carpet, but NO padding so it was quite uncomfortable to walk barefoot on. No breakfast-just coffee in lobby between 6 and 8. Had a great looking fire pit with four chairs however it was all covered up-looked like it was ready for winter. Bathroom had been updated nicely and was clean however vanity was so close to shower that I almost tripped twice walking away from vanity. I've stayed at much nicer places that had pools/spas, fitness rooms and breakfast for less that this place charged (especially on for the Saturday rate).

The property was okay. Can’t walk down to the beach-it’s fenced off. The staff checking in was good and attended to me pretty quickly. It’s in the morning when a staff member was pretty rude. I informed her that I was just getting coffee and leaving. By the way- the coffee was amazing. But the facilities need to be remodeled.
