If you just need a cheap motel to get by for the night, it's o k... I wouldn't take my family here.. Pool was shut down.. Slim pickens for breakfast.. Cheap price equals cheap motel..

I brought my mom to gamble for her 74th birthday. It was pleasant that we could walk to the casino. It was unfortunate that the property was run down and the pool was down for maintenance. The staff were very nice and it appeared to be clean for the most part. For a one night stay it was sufficient. I’d probably stay there again. The fridge was broke in our room. I reported it when we left.

Stayed one night at this hotel. Overall, it is an inexpensive hotel. The facilities are rundown and I am not sure when the pool pictures they share were taken but it was long, long ago. (At the time of my review, the pool is in complete disrepair.) Service was fine. The room was…okay. Dated decor. Carpet in desperate need of replacement. The “desk” is really a small square table with a hard back restaurant style chair, not a desk or desk chair. The lamp near the desk has a thoroughly rusted bottom. The WiFi was actually okay, allowing me to watch a movie on my laptop. The AC worked well but it is also clear it has not been cleaned underneath it in quite awhile and I suspect it is leaking. The bathroom was okay. Hotels tend to never have great water pressure and this was not an exception. The parking lot, like the whole facility, needs some work and feels pretty unsafe at night.

The staff was friendly. Everything we needed was available. If you go for the 4th of July Fireworks, the city puts them off right next to the hotel! It was awesome! So much within walking distance! Go see the Superman Statue and museum!!! We were there for the Pro/AM Archery Tournament! Close to the venue as we could get, definitely enjoyed it! Wish the pool had been open 😩

The whole place looked deserted. Walked in and the "pool and hot tub" werw drained and grwwn in the bottom. Literally hurt my stomach making me feel uncomfortable and NOT SAFE left without even seeing our room for safety reasons!

Dirty, hair on floor toilet uncleaned sheets stained bathroom lights did not working was told to use heat lamp timer so when your in the shower the light times out and your in the dark tv so Dim you could not see with lights on heated indoor pool empty paid 189.00 for a night looks like a 39.00 dump run away from this place

Woof. Do not trust the pictures on the site. Do however trust the bad reviews, I should have looked before I booked. As we pulled in with random people walking through the parking lot that was mostly empty of cars, and caution tape across a section of the motel that looked like a car had driven into the wall (?!?), i knew i had made a mistake. If it was the opening of a movie I would have yelled at the screen for them to not stop there. The whole lobby and hallways reeked of undiluted cleaning chemicals (i have no idea how they made it smell so intense for so long), and our room smelled like cat pee. Old old old carpet that for SURE has been there when this place opened in 1989? Dark, dirty, and creepy. The sheets and towels seemed clean, thank goodness, Everything else however was just, ick. Someone put this place out of its misery.

Check in wasnt so bad. The room was in need of a good cleaning. There was marks on the walls and stains on one of the beds and certains. There was a dead cockroach in one of the pictures on the wall. Trying to check out the counter was un attended. I called the front dest phone just to hear it ring. After an hour a staff personal finally appeared. With no apology for any issues i leave you this note......

I hate to leave a negative review as I feel too many people leave only negative reviews. We chose this hotel based on it being budget friendly. We are fine with older facilities and minimal amenities. We just needed a place to shower and rest. The employee that checked us in was polite and offered all the info we needed. But when we opened the door to our room…wow! It was dirty! the carpet was stained. We could get over that but the vanity had a brown crusty substance on it that I scrubbed off with sanitizing wipes. One sink would not drain at all. There were spider webs/dust balls hanging from the ceiling. None of the cups were sealed in plastic for sanitary safety. If you can overlook these issues, it is budget friendly but we personally will not be going back. We will think twice before reserving a room at another Baymont

We walked in and the smell of drugs hit us in the face. We saw stains all over the sheets and lamp shades we cleaned what we could. They asked for a deposit witch the hotel site didn't say anything about. I had already paid for the room on line and couldn't get my money back so I gave the deposit. Did nothing wrong no smoking or extra ppl in the room nothing I wait a few days and call about my deposit and they said that there was a cigarette but in the trash can so they kept the deposit. They had no ashes trays outside the door so I threw it away when I got to my room. Their was no ashes anywhere but just cause that butt they stole that 100 $ from me. I only stayed their to get away from big storms we had and I had no power.

This place had a lot of bad reviews but decided to try it. Got a king suite with a hot tub in the room. First floor. We were pleastly surprised. It was really clean except for like stains on the couch, bathroom towels alittle stained. Yes it needs updating but for the price it was a good deal. Bed was comfy. Casino right across the street. Dog friendly also.

Our room had a horrible odor. Probably due to very old carpet. Bed was comfortable but once trying to sleep there was so much noise outside our room and above. Someone was slamming doors and then also continual jumping above us.

The entire building was somewhat in need of internal repair. Facilities were older but beds were comfortable. Rooms were minimal in furnishings and rather small, especially the bathroom. Nothing in the area of hospitality.

We tried to check in and nobody was at the desk. Then we were told we had rooms but no tv’s. Hotel smelled like sewer. We refused our room and went to stay at Harrah’s. While the desk clerk was kind we couldn’t even understand him. Would not recommend this location.

Do not book this motel, In it's day it was very nice, as we have had stayed there before. It is so run down that a complete destruction of the motel and a new one built in its place needs to be done. I was also charged an extra $44.00 dollars for a so called No Smoker Room charge, was not informed about this charge. My charge card company informed me of the transaction, I went to the front desk to find out about the charge and was told that I would get a credit back after the room was inspected for smoking when I checked out. Another hassle trying to get my deposit back. Please do not even think about staying here. The same old story, you get what you pay for. I will be talking with the Metropolis Chamber of Commerce about this place.

Upon arriving the desk attendant wanted $100 cash deposit on a room that was a train wreck! Power outlets didn't work, toilet ran constantly, drains were very slow, blood stains on the carpet, semen stains on the ottoman and the refrigerator didn't work. Upon checking out I told desk attendant about room condition and that is when I was informed that there was a light switch to turn on the refrigerator. Total dump needing updated 20years ago. Will NOT go back!!

The place was okay, but there were people in their cars in the parking lot that were just hanging out for hours. Others were at the doorway being loud and had a rowdy feel. Immediately around the hotel was large parking lots with little landscaping. It was okay.

This is an old and tired motel, set far away from the interstate next to a casino. Its low rates reflect the fact that it is near the end of its time. The location makes it handy for casino traffic and for downtown Metropolis, if that is your destination.

The property is dated we had to use butts to charge our phones. The pool was drained and not open they did not serve breakfast. They had cable but not local so you couldn't watch a CBS football game. It's cheap and a place too rest your head. Big holes in the wall where maybe art used to be hung. The furniture was very dated as well.

What a disappointing stay. I booked a suite with hopes of a nice room. Instead I got the farthest away room from the lobby where all the pot smokers hang out. The beautiful pool that is highlighted in the listing is closed for the entire summer along with the hot tub. The continental breakfast was just as disappointing. Nasty, nasty, nasty.

The check-in clerk was nice, and he gave me a king bed which was comfortable. Outside of the room itself the hotel seemed run down (empty indoor pool for example) rather like the town/area. Bathroom amenities were better than expected, but the complete lack of breakfast offset that.
