A lovely view of the bay from our bedroom window, great location and wonderful recommendations from Georgios. He was so helpful and arranged a taxi to collect us from the airport at short notice. All of his recommendations were excellent, especially breakfast at the Palace and at the Botanist. And dinner at Tamam. We did a day trip to Elafonissi which was well worth it (but make sure you walk across the bay to the other side of the island to sit in a beautiful quiet secluded part away from the hoards of tourists)! Also a day trip to Balos which was a bit busy. Rethymno was excellent. It would have been difficult to find parking here so we only rented a car from RCC Crete once we were leaving Chania but they bought the car to us at Talos Square close to the hotel which was very convenient.

The room was very clean, modern and well equipped. The staff were extremely helpful with their recommendations and the location in the old port was fantastic. Highly recommend!

If staying in the old town, this hotel couldn't be more central for beach, restaurants, cafes all on the doorstep.Georgios the proprietor was very helpful in recommending the best places to go and also organising airport collection. The actual hotel was very historical, but with all mod cons in the room.On the whole a fantastic stay

The hotel is perfectly placed for seeing all of the old port and we had a room that looked onto the port itself. No review, however, can fail to mention the now-legendary George, whose family has owned this place for decades and who offers wonderful recommendations for restaurants and beaches and other not-to-be-missed sites. Actually it was a young woman at the desk (whose name I sadly didn’t catch) who recommended we switch our planned visit to Elifonissi beach to Falasarna. Brilliant! Turns out the latter is the secret favorite of the locals—and, man, was it great. All in all a top notch experience and to no small degree because of this homey, attractive and unpretentious hotel and its staff.
