Stayed 1 night

It is right next to the water and has a nice position and view of the rest of the small town (village). We would stay again if we had to, as we couldn't find a place to stay in the actual town of Stranraer the Inn is located in Portpatrick). It was adequate for the price. We ate somewhere else, but the restaurant seemed busy. It was also pretty quiet for a pub/restaurant in the summer, which we appreciated.

The staff were lovely and very helpful. Polite at all times. Making sure our stay was enjoyable. Lovely walk to the castle on your left. And an exciting walk to Sandeel beach ( not for the faint hearted). Would call portpatrick a hidden gem for a short stay.

Stayed 3 nights

Booked a room for 3 nights and on arrival discovered that we had been allocated a self contained garden flat in the adjoining property. Flat was a great 'upgrade' as we were not looking forward to a hot stuffy hotel room given the sunny weather and temperatures in high 20 c .... Flat was clean and well equipped with kitchen / lounge with access to private garden ..bedroom and shower room....most of all it was nice and cool. Decor is a little tired and could do with a refresh but did not effect an extremely enjoyable stay... Staff in the hotel were exceptionally friendly and helpful whilst the food was very good , reasonably priced and large portions. Overall a great little hotel with on street parking right next to the harbour.

We booked a double seaview room, it was comfortable but just a little dated. Great view, slightly spoiled by the flat roof. Just needs a bit of a refresh. Lovely big bathroom. Breakfast and dinner were lovely with a great choice….we were half board…..and the staff were fantastic! This was our second stay and we will definitely return.
