The Harbour House Hotel

Staff were very friendly, helpful and cheerful. The evening meal was very tasty with good choices, as was the breakfast. Lovely conservatory restaurant with views over the harbour.

Good meals and staff friendly. Upstairs 2 bed flat was clean and ideal for our needs. The enclosed garden at back was great for our dog. Will return to this hotel and the wonderful town of Portpatrick.

The location was perfect, Port Patrick is a secret piece of happiness. The Hotel easy to get too, however no parking on-site but the surrounding area is FREE however its a free for all if you can get close enough if not the harbour carpark is just 2 min walk up the road and again its FREE! The Family room we were in was very big but the bathroom tiny. The view from the room was amazing. It was clean and all we needed for a 1 night stop over. The Breakfast was nice, however my partner asked for a pouched egg instead of fried and was told NO! Then the next table asked for Scrambled egg instead of fried and was told YES which angered my partner immensely! (Poached egg was also on the menu). The cleaner was very friendly the other staff ummmmm Would we stay again maybe not, their seems to be a few options in the close vicinity but don't let the non-poached eggs put you off for the money its not bad x

The hotel is decent. It is a little old looking and a touch run down however the staff are lovely and the location is perfect! So actually for what we needed it was great. We weren't sure about breakfast as nobody mentioned anything so we ended up not going for breakfast at all. The bar serve a good selection of drinks and there is music on at the weekend which is a nice touch.

Excellent position overlooking seafront. Low ceilings and steep stairs to attic room but understandable given age of building. No dedicated parking but can park close by (free) provided not at a busy time with daytrippers. Excellent meals served in bar.

I stayed with my child in a twin room, a lovely window seat on looking the sea to the side, tea and coffee with complimentary biscuits. Beds very comfy, warm and clean room with a large shower bathroom with complimentary hand soap, shower gel and body wash. Modern and clean areas, the door to our room was abit awkward to lock but after a few attempts we managed. The bar and restaurant area downstairs is inviting, staff friendly and helpful. Car parking is on the street or plenty car parks outside along the harbour and car parks in multiple places by the shore front, all easy access, easy walking distance and free.

The hotel should mention that they have live music on Friday nights. Was on the top floor but could still hear and feel the music. could not sleep between 9pm and midnight. If I had known, I would have book elsewhere as we had to get up early and leave in the morning. People in the room close were so noisy.

We stayed one night on a half board basis - an absolute bargain for what we paid, the breakfast in particular was excellent. Maybe not the most ideal hotel for anyone with mobility issues though with no lift but that’s understandable in an old building. We were in room 5 which had the most perfect sea view, we wish we’d booked for longer as we love Portpatrick and will definitely be back soon

Excellent room but a little draughty, but heating Excellent. Staff helpful and friendly, good Scottish breakfast.

Smallest bathroom I've ever been in. Room wasn't service in the 4 days even when I asked for the bins to be emptied. Breakfast very average and evening meals over priced.

A number of items made by stay there unpleasant: 1. Their page on Hotels.com says that they have parking. When I got there I could not find their carpark so I rang to ask them. I was told they don't have their own carpark as such, but there is street parking. I had to park a fair distance away from the hotel and walk in the pouring rain with two suitcases. 2. I was told my room had a partial sea-view. There was no sea-view at all (see attached photos). 3. The table I was given to eat my meal at was dirty and sticky, to the point that I could not even rest my arms on the table (see attached photo). 4. The mattress was really cheap and thin. Every time I sat on the bed it felt like I was sitting on a brick wall. It wasn't very comfortable to sleep on either.

Harbour View room, top floor, has decent views of the beach and small harbour. Bathroom door handle needed a neater repair, room lock was a bit tricky and temporary heater had a broken foot. Super staff and breakfast was fine. Dining room view of the harbour great.

Sofa bed was horrific! Heating didn’t work. Apartment could do with a good clean and upgrade.

Very well situated, wonderful sea view Room was attic conversion, with slanted ceilings and you had to watch in case you bumped your head. Terrible signal on TV, couldn't watch and enjoy

Amazing view of the harbour and out to sea. In the heart of the village so very central. Good breakfast for a reasonable cost. Quirky rooms using the space available well.

The room was tiny with sloped ceiling above bed. Had to bend our head to get in and out of bed. Bed extremely soft and uncomfortable. Very strange wardrobe! Radiator in bathroom dangerously hot! Lovely view from window. Staff pleasant.

Had a great little break here in Portpatrick, helped by sunny weather. We were in one of the front facing rooms on the top floor. As advertised, the ceiling was low - sloped into the eaves at one side of the bed, so my wife had to duck a little when going to bed, but main part of room was over 6 feet, so fine for this 5'10" bloke. This may seem less than ideal, but the sitting area at the front of the room, had fab panoramic views of the whole Portpatrick harbour and beyond, which more than made up for ceiling height. Besides there are also rooms on first floor, which judging from hall height must be at least 10 feet. Dog friendly hotel, which is another plus. Anyway... great view, food was also very good. And singer on Saturday sounded good, although I didnt go into main bar area during the set, as would have been too much for doggo 😀.

Really enjoyed stay. Great situation. Friendly staff. Lovely room. Great value for money. Only gripe was that I was unable to get through to staff on the phone easily but I appreciate it was off season and mid week. Would definitely recommend and return with no hesitation.

Lovely welcome from Emma, who checked us in and aerved our foid and drink! All staff were friendly and helpful with lical knowledge. Had only booked double room, but upgraded to the family room. Great views over the harbour, but just above bar. Had been told about the live music.. glad i didnt have young kids. Delicious food, dog very welcome. Will be back

The check in was excellent the lady at Reception whose name was Jennifer could not do enough for you. She was professional charming polite very helpful. I did not have any issues but my partner did as in the next statement. Next morning at breakfast we found that we were not checked in for breakfast even though we confirmed this with Jennifer the staff who were on said we were not and got quite rude about it one whose name was keiran was not happy we had turned up at 9.30. He said we weren't booked in. He stood over my partner in an aggressive behaviour and said YOUR NOT BOOKED IN..RIGHT. He then left and the other staff member offered us a table which was dirty which was pointed out so cleaned it down then took ages to prepare it. We eventually got something to eat. Whilst we were eating my partner overheard Keiran swearing at the other members of staff. Late on that day my partner confronted him about the way he spoke to him at breakfast and he informed him that he argued with him, he turned round and said your still arguing with him, so we left. The following morning we came down to breakfast we were shown to our table without any fuss the staff were polite and helpful. In the evening my partner asked the kitchen staff if they could put his gel packs and freezer blocks in their freezer which they did so. Upon checking out we handed the key over I went to load the car I left my partner waiting for his freezerpacks, to be told there wasnt any. Worst experience of our lives

This is a hidden gem booked only as a stop over coming back from belfast to go home the next morning and glad i found this place . Staff brilliant they waited 2 hours after check in finished as we ran late, 3 people stayed in group we had a 2 bed apartment whixh had so much space and was really clean, breakfast was amazing the next day and portpatrick is a wonderfully beautiful little village. My only regrets was i didnt get there quicker and couldnt stay longer

We enjoyed a great couple of days at the hotel. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and they were so accommodating to our little dog. Being making a return stay again soon!

My wife and I stayed for one night, bed and breakfast on 29th May 2024. Our room was clean, comfortable and a pleasant temperature. We had excellent sea views. Our bed was ok but a bit on the small side. Breakfast offered a reasonable selection and was perfectly adequate.As we came and went we were aware of cooking smells from the kitchen. The hotel is in a brilliant location right in the centre of the town. I would be happy to stay in the hotel again if we return to this part of the world.

Booked a last minute weekend away without even looking or caring where we went and have to say we were so pleased when we got here. Went for the half board deal, breakfast was nice, dinner was delicious but the cheeseboard - I want to go back just for that!! We were in one of the apartments and the place was so cosy and warm with everything that we needed and plenty of space.

We had a lovely room overlooking the harbour. The staff were great, they were really polite and helpful, with lots of smiles. We had an excellent deal which included bed breakfast and evening meal. The food was good, but the breakfast sausages were tough. This is a lovely place to stay. Portpatrick is a delight. The best beer was at the Crown, no real ale at the Harbour!

Amazing location, right on the waterfront. Our room over looked the water, we had a stunning sunset so the view was was worth it's weight in gold. The dinner was very good and the breakfast left a great last impression. The best thing about the stay was definitely the staff who were warm and friendly, they could not do enough for us. We will be back.
